  1. Talking in gyms about fellow players
  2. Best line I’ve read. “Daniels decision to come out won’t address the issue of homophobic chanting in the terraces or alter the sorts of policies that see major tournaments awarded to countries that criminalise gay people…. But perhaps those are conversations for another day… However football is more open, inclusive and more welcoming today than it was yesterday, all because Daniels felt comfortable enough to be himself.” My slant on this is that we still have a long way to go in addressing homophobia. My personal experiences - and this isn’t a thinly veiled desperado coming out post 😂 - mainly from an education perspective, are that some gay people, especially those who are good at sport keep it a secret. They really fear the reaction they will get coming out. This one action will hopefully allow more to feel brave and free them from some of the mental strain that’s unfortunately, especially in world of football, attached to being gay.
  3. It’s Josh Cavallo the Aussie who recently came out.

  5. Big one on Saturday We (Heaton) come to Bradshaw. Not sure I’ll get down though as 2nds at Home. Hope our 1sts follow the 15s tonight, we’ve just gone top of the league with a victory V Bradshaw. Big game for our lads next Monday, top of the table clash V Edgeworth.
  6. Fuck all this politics malarkey. I was at a party with some urinals, they were really pissed off Liverpool won. Job done, well done Liverpool 👏
  7. I agree. The original name and it being the Reebok for 17 years sticks with a lot of folk. I tried with Macron, but it never felt right. And UNIBOL, well that’s felt weirder than Macron. It’s now a stadium name that’s going to cease to exist soon. So I’m certainly not going to get into the habit of using it. I suppose it’s an opposing view to @tomski’s, but I feel quite sad it doesn’t have a proper identity. Does nobody else find themselves dodging the name? “I’m off to the Middlebrook watching The Whites?” On the odd occasion I’ve caught a taxi recently, I’ve used Middlebrook, Whites Hotel, The stadium. But I get it. We go where the money takes us and I’m fine with that. But there’s only 2 scenarios that would make me truly happy with its name. And that’s the Reebok again or fusing the new sponsor with something historical - ideally Nat Lofthouse.
  8. Cause we all know including Reebok, that we are heading to the championship and beyond from next season😁
  9. Good post and in paragraphs too 😂👍. I agree a good pre-season for Dempsey could be the key to him getting a consistent run in the side. And using Lee sparingly and efficiently I’m sure will be high in Evatt’s thinking. And unlike @DazBob I still think MJ has a big part to play. Some nice midfield dilemmas. Top of the list though IMO has to be Morley.
  10. Look at this table from 28th March. You wouldn't have predicted a Wycombe and Sunderland final. Just goes to show, the play-offs is all about peaking at the right time not necessarily about consistency over the season. Less so if you’re aiming for an automatic spot.
  11. Similar. I’m a lover not a fighter 😉 Does mingling mean fighting? 0 if that’s the case. But I’ve been in the enemy end about 10 times- worst experience Bradford, best City. All pitch invasions mass ones - Home to Peterborough and Forest and at Burnden after Preston game for promotion. Not a very good bad boy record, but a decent one to share with your kids that being passionate, having a laugh and following the best team in the world home and away doesn’t mean getting into bother.
  12. I’m not sure it was as big a difference as you’re making out. Just had a quick look at the stats, they had more shots but some of them were way off target and powder puff from what I can remember. Yes they were better and a that goal grabbed us a late point which was a very satisfying draw. But we had no Dapo, no Santos and plenty of players who may well start next season. And let’s not forget the game at Hillsborough. If you are throwing in that we were outclassed at home then the same needs to be said about us at their place. How we didn’t score and win the game that day I’ll never know. That team had Dapo and Santos in and 8 players who could well start for us next season and the upgrades on Doyle and Sarcevic. We shouldn’t be thinking Sheffield Wednesday are much better than us.
  13. Had a shit load of failures on heardle. However I’m great at wordle/quordle/octordle/Globle 😂 However I got that one in one today 😊
  14. I’m not wholly disagreeing with this, as I think we’ve seen the best of Dapo out wide so far. But I thought he finished the season well in the 10 role, he looked dangerous, got into scoring positions, brought others into the game and posed a real threat. I think it was the Cheltenham away game, he was superb in that role. He’s the type of player who is that talented he’ll perform well across any of those front positions. And more importantly he has the character and personality to adapt. Massive player for us next season if we keep him.
  15. Well 1 up for Sunderland, but I can’t help thinking we are better than both of these
  16. 4 of those have been against sides below us though. IMO he’s a top end L1 player who could perform well in Championship. He’s our best defender, he’s quick, he’s brilliant in 1 on 1 situations, he’s a great ball player, he’s composed and he’s our captain and got developing leadership qualities - he’d be very difficult to replace If we lost him next season. I hope he stays, signs a new contract and commits himself to be part off this exiting future
  17. Absolutely 👏 If we are thunderclapping through till May 2023 - then that will see us promoted to the championship 👏👏 ooh…… 👏👏 oooh 👏👏 Ooh
  18. Good shout. I don’t think I’ve met as many wwayers in a season. Can’t wait for next season 👏
  19. Without looking there can’t be many, if any bigger League one play-off games in terms of the stature, history and size of the 2 clubs
  20. Considering we had nowt to play for and they were fighting for their lives and considering we could start next seasons first game with 6/7 different players; Bod/Lee/Sheehan/Dempsey/MJ/Fossey/Santos That was a bloody good game and performance, well done young George And well done everybody connected with the club. The best mid-table finish I’ve ever witnessed in my life-time 😂
  21. Wouldn’t we need to knock a few past Fleetwood as well?
  22. Bloody hell, I forgot about him! Yes no way he’s a L1 player.
  23. Thinking along the same lines. Has to be Holden and Cahill doesn’t it? I’m racking my brains for more outfield players I’d have (Aaron Mooy??) but I reckon @Biggish Daveis right. You could argue a case for Madine, but to be honest I’d rather have JDB The other one is Aaron Ramsdale although he was only here as a youngster and didn’t play in the first team.
  24. Don’t know if people are aware of this. A bwfc friend of my eldest, only 17, took his own life last week. https://www.gofundme.com/f/in-loving-memory-of-aston-robinson Horrifically tragic event. A minutes applause on 17 mins seems to be gathering momentum, which would be a nice touch.
  25. Huddersfield Sunderland Port Vale
