  1. Yeh there were a few of those. Thankfully they are in the minority as the large majority were very good today and backed them till the end. I think we’ll come back stronger after that. You always learn more in a defeat - and still plenty to learn at defending balls into the box to the big men. Traffic, closed junctions and lane closures made it a shocker of a journey back and to top off a poor night I’ve set a camera off on the 62 😤
  2. One of the best atmospheres we’ve had at The Reebok 👏
  3. Yeh those are the ones which sadly stopped after the 2009/10 season
  4. http://www.boltonnuts.co.uk/stats.html# Don’t think it’s as comprehensive as Shepherds, but it’s the best one I’ve seen since then.
  5. Yes. A great bloke and servant to the club. He’ll be very hard to replace. Good luck to him in his retirement
  6. Talk about going off on a tangent! My original point was about Wheater, Spearing only got thrown into the mix as I was struggling to think of players during our dark decade who weren’t shit. There’s a difference between arguing about someone not being shit to interpreting that as a judgement to them being viewed as a hero. TBF Gary O Neil is a good shout as a player who shone in the dark times. If you want to put players who were trusted to captain our club, (wearing the badge with pride) who played for years giving us some bright moments in a shite period, along with non-entities like Garvan, Coke, Butterfield and Mears who didn’t have one decent game between them then your judgement is impaired.
  7. If that’s directed at me, you are way off the mark. Where does pointing out that we went through our worst decade and it’s a struggle to think of players who wore the badge with pride, translate as me thinking of Spearing as a hero? Many seemed to have missed the point that not every player who played in a shit team at a shit time is a “shit-un” as the thread is asking us to comment upon. Otherwise let’s just generalise and say every player between 2010-2020 was a shit-un
  8. Don’t really remember the details. But if that’s him taking his responsibilities over players welfare seriously and he’s highlighting what a crook Anderson was, then I don’t have a problem if that’s what he did. Do you not think during that decade there were very few, if any, who wore the badge with as much pride as he did? I’m struggling… Spearing maybe
  9. Bloody hell our already depleted song list will be non-existent soon! I’m pretty happy with most of them mentioned if it gets some atmosphere going. That said I can’t abide the Munich chants (other anti Man U sings ok- but they all seem to lead to the Munich ones)
  10. The pool isn’t a good one, I know, but you can’t put a player who was arguably the best player we had for a decade (2010-2020), captained the team, never shirked his responsibilities under horrific circumstances, understood what playing for the best club in the world meant, into the same bracket as the rest on this thread. Nonsense. Your not that crackpot GC of Twatter are you?
  11. Beat me to it. Not only is it the monetary aspect of it which gives it greater kudos, but the fact he was everything a Bolton player shouldn’t be; heartless, dispassionate, weak and just no connection or understanding of what BWFC was all about
  12. Good to see how jealous they are of Charles. Everyone will soon realise we have a talent in our midst
  13. 72 points average over last 10 seasons gets 6th spot 9 wins 3 draws 4 defeats Achievable - all still to play for 👏👏👏 COYFWM
  14. As long as it doesn’t mean we spend the next 2 seasons losing in the play-offs 😂
  15. Over that 3 year period 2003-2006 we really had the hoodoo over Charlton. Always fancied beating them home or away. About time that was recommenced this season now we are massive again 😊
  16. I’ve been working at The Whites Hotel today. IE came and sat near us this morning. Couldn’t help eaves dropping as he got very animated and vocal on his mobile. Jist of the conversation was he was still backing his/staffs actions, repeating that they’d been verbally abused from minute one, how can they deflect from the real issue, he was backing Baptiste’s actions/words at one point. All of which suggests there’s still an element of self-denial and deflection from whoever was on the other end of the call! I did hear from the horses mouth when I had a brief chat with him that Santos card had been rescinded - he seemed to smile at this point and it stopped steam coming out of his ears 😂
  17. I’m really not sure who they are. My eldests mob (despite their other foibles) think it’s plain stupid and don’t get it. Just chatted to him about it and while in crazy corner and on away travels, he’s not identified anyone in the motion of doing it. He’s said if he saw anyone he’d call them out. Our discussion tried to get into the mind-set of the odd few who are doing it. They are either angry/cowardly nutcases who want to harm a player by throwing coins etc or have serious intelligence/self-control issues and throw the nearest empty bottle they can find which is going to cause as much harm as a paper aeroplane - yet bring harm and disrepute to the club. Bonkers - But as @radcliffe whitesaid wrong audience on here. And we are probably talking a minority of 5-10 idiots. Surely a bit of CCTV can identify them and punish accordingly.
  18. 😂 Good to shout some chants out together in that 2nd half.😱👏
  19. “James Trafford, in the middle of our sticks” ”James Trafford in the middle of our sticks” 🎶 🎵 👏😂
  20. I think you have to have been there to truly appreciate that post. One of the classics 👏
  21. Great giving the Tranmere tossers a chorus at Lancaster! 🤣👏
  22. Have there ever been a worst set of pens than those from Cameroon, my goodness they were shocking!!
  23. Looks like the conditions we faced at Fleetwood 👀
  24. He’s fast becoming a favourite of mine. I love it when their footballing talent match their human qualities. Reaching out to somebody in need of some kind words is a class act - must have made the guy feel a million dollars
