  1. Fuck knows. My scattershot approach to town centre geography is there for all to see.
  2. Yes, on Newport Street, roughly where Greenhalgh’s is and Ann Summers/Our Price was. Possible (likely!) that all three were in separate units, but definitely around there.
  3. Before December 14th. Bit vague, I know.
  4. That’s good value, even if it goes to Oxford City by mistake.
  5. Aye, but the crowds say it’s definitely not the same for everyone. We were getting 8-10k for Cup games and league gates of 25-27k when we had a squad capable of winning it.
  6. One of the three Fleetwood players is yet to play league football, while another has managed eight career minutes.
  7. Surely that was Wheater at right back at Ewood.
  8. Re potential rearranged game, Burton, Donny and Lincoln all in replays.
  9. Wasn’t a bad horse - won a decent handicap on the Friday of the John Smiths meeting at York of a mark of 98.
  10. If he gets on at Daisy Hill you could get on his train when it comes through Rochdale.
  11. Aye, and 290,200 of them went to the Darlington game.
  12. Think Constantinople has an obvious chance, and Coolmore have been after a flagship stallion in that neck of the woods for a while, so the switch from O’Brien isn’t a huge surprise. Think Raymond Tusk is overpriced at around 25s on the exchanges - his staying-on fourth in the Ebor off a big weight reads well enough in this context - and Rostropovich has a few bits of form that would put him in with a shout, so he’s the Hollywood punt at more or less whatever price you want, though he’s obviously not certain to see it out.
  13. I think when you round it all up, we’re saying that football has gone to shite and we don’t care anymore. Except when we cry on the last day of the season when it all goes mental.
  14. Guilty until nearly proven innocentish.
  15. Would there? It happens, sadly. It happened to Cliffs of Moher in last year’s race but I don’t recall any uproar. Godolphin and Morrison will both have access to some of the best equine veterinary advice in the world - I feel sure they’d pull their horses of their own accord if there was something amiss.
  16. Apart from the ones they bought five minutes ago to pass off as home-trained runners.
  17. March 2017 - Northampton at home, Oxford and Shrewsbury away. They were the final three of a five-game winning run that started at Fleetwood.
  18. Your best bet is waiting for the bus at Chew Moor for ten minutes before giving it up as a bad job and going home for turkey butties and The Great Escape.
  19. They don’t have to be right on the touchline, though. I’d expect clubs to re-think where their subs warm up if they know they’re running the risk of conceding a penalty. Behind the opposition goal seems more sensible, though may not go down well.
  20. Not sure when the law changed but that would have been punishable by a caution and an indirect free kick not long ago. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect substitutes to stay off the field of play, though. Why the fuck are they standing there in the first place?
  21. I’m torn between Duck Egg and Marc505’s respective stances. If it wasn’t the Bake Off final I’d have a decision to make.
