  1. A typical League 2 team would be better organised and out battle us ATM even if they didn't have the players. I don't see why you have to plan 10 years ahead in the January transfer window. Do what you can this season and then start planning in the summer. Couldn't see Macc going to Lincoln and getting thumped 5-1.
  2. Left backs are like gold dust. So letting Chicksen go seems a big risk to me. Bunney needs to play a couple of reserve fixtures before he's fit for first team action.
  3. For some reason he reminds me of Stanley Unwin when he talks.
  4. One thing for certain. Good defences are settled defences.
  5. I remember Nsiah playing for Macc' He's a big powerful lad but those who get nervous with Zouma better take a tranquilliser before going to the game.
  6. Plus lads mature at different rates. Like the Bournemouth goalie, you can get a weedy 16 year old who is discarded being suddenly a strong 20 year old.
  7. Good centre back partnerships have a 1 and a 2. 1 is the big strong challenger and 2 is the one who covers round the back of him. When I have seen Edwards in the u-23s, he has looked a really good 2.,
  8. Which League 1 clubs have got big bananas to slosh about? Anyway we can't pay transfer or loan fees because we are under embargo.
  9. Put another way, if he had given a yellow card for all fouls like Murphy's, there wouldn't have been anyone left on the pitch at the end.
  10. They say that it evens out over the season. Well wee need a few going for us in the second half.
  11. League 2 and National League teams are now well organised and fit which sort of neutralises the skill deficit. There's still some stand-out players who end up there. But we never seem to sign any.
  12. Hasn't Hall been injured most of the season?
  13. Best defensive display that I have seen this season was Bristol Rovers with Earl and Zouma in the middle.
  14. Was a 50/50 and went in with both feet up and caught Shrews after/ same time as the ball. Not the same as a tackle on someone who already had the ball. Still a sending off.
  15. Remi Matthews gets it in the neck from Matthew after his display at Sunderland. You couldn't make it up.
  16. I thought Edwards and Zouma played well together at Wycombe. They know each other's game well from the u-23s.
  17. We always seem to lose out on physical strength at youth team level. Our best team in recent years was the one with Clough, Holding, and some others who you thought might have made the grade. They got muscled out of it at Forest. And despite mostly playing with a big lad up front at 1st Team level we've never had anyone like it at youth level.
  18. I thought that he did well to get us up from League 1 first time and the football wasn't bad to watch. Sunderland is one of the great delusions of grandeur places. I suppose Parkinson will have known that when he went there and that's why he negotiated a 3 year contract.
  19. Thought that the idea of an Independent Commission was to stop people with an interest (i.e. other League 1 clubs) taking part in the decision. The EFL should have told them where to go.
  20. Wasn't it the EFL that appointed this Independent Commission and presumably determined its membership?
  21. Don't get this degrading the competition when we have already been deducted 12 points. Let's face it, it's other League 1 clubs stirring the shit.
  22. If the EFL Committee considering this has anyone connected with a League 1 club sitting on it, isn't there a huge conflict of interest?
  23. We didn't offer many u23s contracts last season with a result that u18s have been playing as u23s and not u18s.
  24. Tommy and Roy Hartle were seen are hard men, but they never wasted a pass. Happy Birthday Tommy.
  25. Youngsters will make mistakes no matter how good they are. Living with /and helping eliminate them is part of helping them make the grade.
