  1. I always felt the highlights on ITV failed to capture the atmosphere that night. I always said it, but little things like the ball coming off an Ipswich player for a throw - but Knight giving it to them. Little things. Then the yellow mist descended. And then the penalties - I can still picture the fury and frustration on Gudni Bergsson's face after his timely challenge was adjudged a foul and penalty.

Alan Johnston's goal was sweet. If you can remember - Ipswich had just equalised. They were in mid voice "You're not singing anymore". We kicked off again, ran up their end and scored! Put that in your ragging pipe and smoke it!! What a feeling. I just knew though, that after all the yellow cards, we would fail to finish the game with 11 men. Robbie Elliott truly deserved to be sent off, but by that point, and after all the biased decisions, it was either him or Warhurst who was going to try to decapitate one of the Ipswich players.

    Fredi Bobic is god!

  2. In all fairness - older members on here will probably have spent good earned coin during the years on vinyl and cassettes. Now you find yourself unable to listen to half of your collection due to changing technology - ie. not having a record player or stylus to listen to your vinyl.

For me, I ain't paying again to get hold of all this material - hence I am currently tracking and downloading for FREE stuff that I already own in a different format.

However, like mentioned on here already, bands like Kasabian, Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, etc, I would not have even bothered with if I had not got their stuff for free. Again recalling my yewf, we used to copy vinyl on to blank tapes so we could share stuff.

Upshot of it is, there is more chance of me going watching the likes of Franz Ferdinand and spending money on ticket / merchandise after listening to their music for free - than if I hadn't heard their stuff.

Just last weekend 7/8 of us went watching The Damned in Manchester - a couple of weeks prior - I downloaded their entire back catalogue and sent it out to the other lads in MP3 format. The Damned may have missed out on a few pence each from that - but gained in concert ticket sales, merchandise sales and I guess a cut of the bar sales.

End of the day - there's a point here somewhere - if the musicians got a fair cut and the rest of the "music machine" stopped taking huge unnecessary chunks out of royalties - original albums would be much more affordable and this download malarkey would not have risen its head.

How many record companies - Sony, EMI, etc will post piss poor financial figures? They are making unnecessary millions out of mug punters by ripping them off.

  3. Got an EP available next week, just waiting for the printers to deliver the artwork   :D

Printers don't deliver artwork. You give artwork to a printer to get printed material done. And as I guess that was a hint, I shall chase up delivery date for you now.
