  1. Over here, one gets a cone on top. Over there, they'd get a different pointed hat on.
  2. Still can't accept the over achieving tag. A club is where it is on merit come the end of the season. BSA may have been the main reason for that, but the progression and success wasn't a fluke.
  3. Not sure who best player is- many have a claim, but for best professional I'm going for Speed.
  4. Who knows; seemed to do OK last night against a strong team.
  5. Bang on. I'm sure if I went back far enough, one of my tribal forebears, may have stoves in the skull of another tribe over a few roots and berries. Won't lose sleep over it.
  6. Course it doesn't make them right. Nor wrong. Its opinion. The effect he had last year was beneficial for a bit, but it tailed off- and the performance last game was as good as I'd seen in a while, and he didn't start. Its far too easy to make a judgement on a game or two. After several seasons though, barring a little spell under Lennon, I not seen much to rave about.
  7. After several seasons its not unusual, nor unreasonable for fans to have developed a view on a player. If folk aren't enamored with pratley or anyone else, it doesn't make them somehow "anti" the team. Booing the player is different of course, but I reckon if you did a fans poll, the majority don't rate Pratley.
  8. Stand tall at first and get the crowd anxious? 1-3. Them with a last ditch consolation.
  9. Need to spend his old pound coins too.
  10. Last update on BN said we were doing well.
  11. Were you supping something strong last night; that's a brave one. Hope you're right though!
  12. I understand your point Bolty, but as Cassie says, be a bit pointless if we just stayed in one place. If you asked the pie eaters, I'd bet to a man, they'd take their current plight for the fa cup win. Something to pass on to kids and grandkids. For me the problem is the hugely bloated cash reserve of the premier league, not the fact its the top league.
  13. Would be nice, probably get £4m for him.
  14. Not sure your last bit could happen. Orbit etc that developed the site would have the income from the units. For the club to have invested jointly, would have been expensive; not sure they could have afforded it, having to pay for a new stadium. Could be wrong though.
  15. These will dissolve/disperse the oil, but as they are volatile and of low viscosity they may spread further around/into the substrate and then evaporate. Stain gets paler but bigger. Great if the oil was spilled on a non porous surface, not so sure on a drive.
  16. Still a lot of acrimony between the two, thinly veiled digs at each other, and spokesmen putting out critical information. Perhaps blue marble would be happy to own the hotel, with a buy back clause should the club be in a position to do so.
  17. Did see a programme about fungi a while back. Bare with me.... A former scrap yard type place had very heavily contaminated ground. Normally this would have to be dug up and removed and treated as waste before site could be redeveloped. Very expensive. They tried a new method of covering the area with saw dust or some such laced with fungal spores. (Don't know species). Within a day (iirc) the oil had been chomped and broken down by the fungus. Amazing stuff. Some stuff here. https://www.permaculture.co.uk/readers-solutions/using-fungi-clean-pollutants
  18. Raggy blart.
  19. Miami- see how good your memory is and guess what the cards are before he turns them over.
  20. Get the impression that's ka's angle.
  21. In today's prices, can we not sell Pratley for £10m+. Gaz is on fire so must be worth at least £15m.
  22. Suggested today that massives are prepared to pay the £275m buy out for messi. He's 31 ffs. Where's that FFP ruling gone?
  23. Aye. But he'll want his slice too, quite rightly. As he says only vultures circling and I can't see a serious offer until this blue marble shit is sorted. Unless someone with silly money comes in- and as Barnsley are reportedly being looked at- anything is possible.
  24. Sometimes hear about German football. Good crowds, decent prices, and a successful national team. Seem to manage OK without glorified 'premier league' status.
