  1. Weird. What was she doing? Not sure if it was an electric car and quiet but surely it had lights on.
  2. Common sense needed. I was once hit by a car whilst on my bike. I was about to turn right and the fucker tried to overtake me. The cyclist on that video was just being a cunt. Cuntshovellers on both sides. Used to do a lot of road riding but don't bother now. Prefer to ride off road. Easier and less stress.
  3. Don't disagree at all. Not sure about carols fitness; but townsend always done ok. Some players seem to get better playing at a higher level. Others seem to plateau and not step up.
  4. I spoke to Sammy Lee (was having a brew under the stand!) at a game shortly after him signing. Lee spoke highly of him and said he'd be a good un. Wasn't wrong.
  5. Would imagine a fair bit of international stats are along those lines. I wonder how many shrek got against similar teams. As for crouch, as for a late sub when you're desperate.... I'll throw a player in, completely left field; that little fucker at Burnley; Barnes. Plays up front on his own and annoys the fuck out of defenders. Scored a few too. We've got Kane and guys with pace but he's a bit different and gives a different options. A six fingered ALF if you will.
  6. Kinell a whole new topic there. Suppose the change from pre to post industrial revolution is a whopper
  7. Welbeck not been a revelation since going to the arse, yet seems to have done ok for England. Can't be arsed checking but I'd guess his record of goals per game isn't too bad when compared to others in a similar position. Not sure it really matters who is selected. We lack world beaters so we need a good man manager to get the most out of what we've got.
  8. Kinell not sure I was on here then. Well done- a good guess or a good memory; I'm intrigued
  9. To be honest, it doesn't bother me particularly. He's done so well with no money and continuing losses, that if we could be looking to turn a profit soon; then that should grow providing we show the same diligence. If outside investment comes in then fine; but it feels quite good to be living within our means and competing. A bit more honest if you will.
  10. She can discuss g-string theory with SH.
  11. You're making a good job of appearing royally cheesed off. Are your a closet brexiteer?
  12. Tesco in the village had easter eggs in in January. No wonder its early; the shells will have turned white.
  13. There was a bit of this last time round. Even on here we were debating whether they'd do better without much expectations. It didn't materialise sadly. Can't help feeling whites man is correct and we'll fold when the going gets a bit tough. I'm actually warming to southgate to an extent; don't think he's doing too badly- more in establishing some continuity and success from the younger age groups. Funnily enough I can see subsequent managers benefiting from his work.
  14. Would be nice to have a "comfortable" victory. One of those games where you know the teams got the game sewn up fairly early and you can enjoy a bit of showboating. Not going to happen though, another gritty win.
  15. Can't help feeling uneasy watching him attempting to commentate on sky. Makes my blood boil.
  16. Pretty sure I heard that some folk we scared shirtless of trains as they thought people wouldn't be able to breathe at speeds of 30mph+ and would Kark it.
  17. Today was wonderful. Logs chopped, dogs walked and paths not too muddy. 19 years ago today it was cold wet and miserable.
  18. I'm sure malc will have been digging folk out ofor drifts whilst running. There's no doubt winters are wetter and arguably windier. Maybe not as cold; but give me cold crisp days over milder duller damp shitty days any time.
  19. Can't decide which way this is going to go. There's going to be a great deal of tension off the field given recent events, whether the team can get together and adopt a "let's shove it up the Russians " attitude I'm not sure.
  20. In an earlier post you were taking the piss by suggesting we were closing the door to more people of working age. Now you're saying we don't need more people but need to adjust the balance. So if not killing off older folk; which worryingly you keep mentioning, how do you make the adjustment? As it is there are plenty of people to do the important jobs; unfortunately they're not well paid as money is tight so end up being short of numbers. We have insufficient manufacturing that actually creates wealth and too many young folk given the false hope of a mega career on the back of a degree. The essential reballancing will come about through a drop in longevity or an increase in money paid into pensions for the future. Or a bit of both. Keeping bringing people in to pick fruit and veg on the cheap or to work in hotels and restaurants only compounds the situation long term. We can see problems like in the NHS, yet the more folk we bring in the more it seems to suffer. The country has very good employment levels, but this includes many part time jobs and lots of self employed people. Getting higher pay and a higher tax take is needed to help fund essential services; yet the more folk that come the more we seem to be skint.
  21. Agree there undies. After the first two games it was as if the players were running with weights round their ankles.
  22. You're not getting the point. We only need more people if society carries on along its current path. Which it cannot do. Evidence is all around that things are changing because of environmental changes. Look at the middle east; much of that area's wealth comes from oil, but a lot of it is in desert areas. Can't sustain a large population long term as oil reserves drop. Even the top fella from Saudi who was here last week is seeing the need for change long term.
  23. My mum said something about more snow earlier. Bollocks. I agree with gonzo - getting a bit tedious now. I think stuff not appearing is no bad thing as previous years early blossom has had a dirth of insects for pollination. Expect a bumper strawberry crop.
  24. Typical. Are we going to ban immigration post Brexit? The point is that your current scenario is not sustainable, the sooner that politicians take this on board the better. An expert in heard talking about couple of years ago explained that for every joule of energy our current agriculture system produces in terms of food, it uses around two and a half joules of energy to produce it! Keep building and increase the population and you increase demand and the need for more intensive methods. You can talk about politics, etc all you want. Nothing compares to the fundamentals of the need for food, water, and space.
