  1. Wife rang a few minutes ago saying a cloud of doom was lurking over her way (leyland). Its arriving now! Funnily enough during this morning's sunshine and clear blue skies there was an almighty flash, like lightning, but can't have been, and no thunder neither. Weird stuff.
  2. Mp in galgate yesterday was hoping a large housing scheme in the area would be scrapped to help prevent future flooding issues. If a touch of nationalism slows down the rate of population increase and eases the demand for housing then that's fine by me.
  3. In fairness I think folk have understood the dangers of boxing for a while. Although there's been some anecdotal evidence over heading the ball, maybe science is now catching up. Heading the ball is already banned in junior football in the states.
  4. Showers predicted all day tomorrow. Play could be limited which obviously pushes up the chances of a draw. Must break this partnerships early as we could have a fair deficit to overcome.
  5. Ann Summers. The sex toy stadium.
  6. Hardly going to convert folk into supporters. Just hope he hasn't bitten off more than he can chew- should the statement have read: "fuck; I thought I could turn this lot round rapidly, and the thousands of wealthy boltonians would flock to the macron. I have made a massive booboo and I'm not likely to get my big pay day..."
  7. Was wondering exactly this. Have they got big names that we all know, a shit load of foreigners who we don't, a manager with extraordinary skills, or something else? We need to take heart from the Fulham result; they've just won at Sheffield utd so all is not lost. Yet.
  8. It would be quite nice to know what our liabilities are, and for how long. Stuff that we will still benefit from in years to come. As for the rest, don't really understand all the arguments. When all is agreed and Parliament picks over it, we can make a more informed judgement.
  9. Its an artists impression, so it could well be "anything". Resembles a piece of coal for me.
  10. They may have floated away, whilst he was in his pyjamas...
  11. If ken's suggestion that the ground may change its name, I can't see the club buying much stock.
  12. Yeah, though given the pre match bollocks from their lot, part of me thinks we've "won" the day. A good first session tomorrow please, and start building on good foundations.
  13. He'd have to change to sheep- going to the baabers.
  14. Ken needs to be careful; being critical of supporters will do him no favours. I'm hoping this isn't deliberate as a way of getting out, though it won't get him any more offers.
  15. Sorry to hear that gonzo. Just seen galgate on the local news- brings it home to see a road where you used to live submerged. Not sure there's much folk can do to help; but if you do need any help ie with transport/lugging shit about, more than happy to bring the van up. All the best.
  16. You've had it worse- only really rained this evening Been flooding in chorley and this after some in dingle land yesterday. Despite this everywhere is saturated. Where's the bastard frost. Was out with the pups earlier and saw a fresh horse shit with hundreds of little flies on it; this after not seeing a single wasp in my garden in the summer. We should all leave our fridges open.
  17. Thanks for that. What a complicated mess. Its only ever been a level playing field between just a few nations. These numbers are meaningless until the final deal is reached, and then it will be difficult to fully understand.
  18. What's dervite up to?
  19. I used to quite admire the Aussie sporting mentality; but when you're using someone's mental illness as a measure of your 'abilities and prowess' its a sad state of affairs. Hope we fucking muller them
  20. 100%. And then going off on one on Sheffield TV was just pathetic. He'd be better off looking in the mirror the rubber faced wanker.
  21. That's the ability of good managers though, to recognise potential issues, manage the personalities and gradually put his mark on things. Traf's point about a lack of professionalism is quite right, but it also suggests Megson didn't understand the characters available to him. We can go on about managers like BSA, but look at our PP now- I'm not his greatest fan in terms of his tactics, but he seems to be able to command the respect of players and build a decent spirit. Rather have him than Megson any day.
  22. Concerns aired the other day about the numbers of youngsters not coming to the game because of computer games and cost of matches. If it continues then may have repercussions down the line.
  23. Its not just 'us' though. Talking to people in general and folk say its not worth it. Economy might be doing OK, but with bad publicity about inflation, wages and brexit, be interesting to see what subscription levels are like. Do they publish them at all?
