  1. Huge win.

Don't know why really, with neither side with anything to play for in league terms, but some of ours with a point to prove and maybe a job to hold onto.

Yesterday's battling point, and some youth team players getting a go, might have improved the mood a little.

    Zico- get some money on.

From SS comments think signing older players is very much in his plans.

I reckon he meant ones with a decent level of experience; either at a higher level or with getting promoted put of this.

We have players who are approaching 30, but who maybe lack that experience.

  3. I think there is a decent player in there. We saw hints of it last season, but injuries have simply wrecked any chance of a run and to find form.

Can't see him being around though next season.

  4. I'm no great fan of Parky neither.

He has had the benefit of lots of money.

At the same time, Evatt also had a bit of a war chest, and didn't succeed, so some credit has to be given to Parky for being more practical and less ideological.

Will it be Lee Anderson for deputy PM 💜 ?

A top honest bloke who only ever speaks the truth, just like Nigel.

    Who knows.

Despite your constant sniping at Farage, out of all of the leaders, so far he seems the more adept politician.

In part, because for the most part, he is straight up with his opinion. Don't agree with everything- there is also spin in how he describes things (as with all parties)- but there is an approach that is different from the norm.

If he was to get in, then things may change in that regard of course. As it has this time, in very short order.

Similar reasons in here as to why Reform wouldn’t fix things either

An admission then that Starmer is failing.

The very essence of why governments get voted out, and why someone else is leading the polls right now.

Whether you, or anyone, else thinks they would fail isn't particularly relevant: many will think he could, some won't be so sure but will be sick of the others and will be willing to try something different.

If, as looks highly likely, the next election is going to be fought in large part over immigration, then the regulars are likely to be way off in their approach.

Unless of course, some sort of match up happens with Badenoch in how she proposes to deal with the situation.

Plenty of time to go of course.

    Parky does it again

It will be interesting to see what happens next season.

    More financial controls now.

Not sure where they are up to with the ground expansion neither.

“Google Starmer lies and you will PROBABLY find your answers there”

As has been pointed out on here previously, you do seem to struggle with reading.

I’m not sure what context you need? Starmer has told plenty of lies, this could be a reason why some people have lost faith in him. And rightly so.

Also harks back the Trump thread, and folk not wanting King Charles to meet Trump, and saying he probably wouldn't want to.

Given that Starmer has previously stated he is a republican, maybe Charles didn't want to meet him neither.

He previously said it was the law that trans women were women.

He said he wouldn't hit farmers.

Could go on, but it isn't necessary.

They all do, and they will be judged accordingly.

Mateta has been an incredible story under this manager, looked a carthorse beforehand and couldn't buy a goal, now one of the most dangerous customers in the Prem

He had a great run last season- just seemed to be one of those that have streaks of success.

    Maybe more consistent now.

    Palace are a superb watch

Football like it should be played

Really hope it’s them vs Forest in the final. If so I’ll actually watch it

I was hoping for, indeed fairly confident of a decent game.

I remember the 89-90 season, with Palace playing Utd. Oldham had previously given utd a huge scare in another wonderful game.

Villa need to up it a bit, but either side could win this.

I'm after a fast growing, high reaching, prickly type of plant like a rambling rose type thing.

My mother used to have something similar over back wall & gate in Westhaughton years ago.

    Any suggestions???

    A rambling rose perhaps?

Is it actually a "climber" or clambering type plant you want, or just something spiky for security?

Loads of shrubs that offer that- will self support, and be trained into a hedge for example.

Evergreen ones: pyracantha, berberis darwinii, holly for example.

Deciduous: blackthorn, hawthorn, other berberis for example.

    Have a look on here.

From the bits I saw,    mcatee-  get rid asap.

Collins -  really is not good enough to lead a promotion challenging team ,   bad bad misses again.

He might just score more in a promotion challenging team!

A more physical presence alongside, faster players and width- as SS wants, and who knows.

Wrexham had 2 shots so far, 2 goals. Meanwhile we had 24 shots today and just the 1 goal.

    The difference right there.

Wasn't that like our first half at Lincoln last week?

Barely touched them for 25 mins then scored two.

Over the season, we have clearly missed plenty of chances, but it's the other end that has been the big concern.

I see Palace fans are playing dress up as eastern European ultras 😂

    Usually do.

Not that it matters, really, when they score goals like that.

What a fuckin biff that was from Eze.

  14. I'm intrigued.

Where do folk think ratings come from?

Same place as always; the same places that found previous pms had low ratings.

The same ratings based on broken promises, unpopular decisions, etc.

Didn't stop the vitriol then, but acceptance now.

Another "counting" and quantifying effort going on too- like the Israel thread- his lies and bigger than his. Like a primary school kid.

Maybe starmer is just better at it; he had voice coaching in lockdown after all, which will have improved his delivery.

Kind of but he knew the rules before he went for his first term. The undemocratic bit is when once in power you decide you you no longer like those rules. It is exactly what Putin did so no surprise really.

    I agree.

By the same token, I also think it is undemocratic to change voting age whilst in office.

Lots of rumours, but nothing concrete yet, so hope it will stay that way here.

The sort of decision for a referendum.
