  1. The can't survive the winter- you're OK! Be there tomorrow by the way- shit hit the fan again today, will explain then.
  2. All eu rules were enshrined I our law prior to leaving. Unless they've been updated and strengthened since, then nothing has changed. Don't know if they've been strengthened, but unless positive action is taken, nothing will.change.
  3. The vaccine clearly does help in reducing the spread. Doesn't really matter how that fact comes about: if as stevie is pointing out, it's because people are not infectious, then that is precisely what is wanted from the vaccine. In fact, I don't know how it would work otherwise- no doubt virologist can explain.
  4. I agree. I don't think the French attitude has changed because of it though. A reporter a few minutes ago has been over and reckons he's seen lots of work on behalf of the French in tackling it from their end. For me, as I've said before, for our part we have to reduce our attractiveness. Also work with the French for ways of stopping the gangs from functioning.
  5. Supply and demand: your mantra. Be truthful, you'll sleep as well tonight as you did last. Sad as it is, nothing will change unless countries in Europe get tough.
  6. Migrants have been camping in coastal towns for years, clambering into wagons etc. Well before we even voted. If somehow being out now means more want to come then surely it was a good thing? If it means France gives less of a toss than before, then it says a lot about their approach to migrants. For what it's worth, I don't believe brexit has had any bearing on the matter at all. Simply that there is an increasing movement of folk as the criminal gangs continue to make money with apparent impunity, and countries from which they come continue to struggle with civil war, terrorism, economic disadvantage etc. We haven't seen anything yet neither. As climate change continues, and more and more folk can't be fed from expanding dust bowls, they're going to be heading this way in ever increasing numbers.
  7. Detectors should be put in the bogs that identify smokers, then by use of small storage tanks and aptly placed jets, squirt the culprit with piss.
  8. Your first sentence seems to be an attempt to downplay the positive effect of everyone getting their jabs. The article does talk about waning effects and the excellent (perhaps surprising) increase in transmission protection provided by the booster. A greater effect than after two. With such impressive numbers, if more folk had them, then clearly numbers of infections, missed school and work would drop. Then there'd be no talk or further lockdowns, passports, nor rants from expats in Spain-who seems to have gone a bit quiet.by the way.
  9. We took 4 points from them last season. If Johnston plays in midfield, that's an extra head to defend long throws, even if he isn't the greatest in the air defensively. You'd expect him to be better at that than Lee, Thomason or whoever else might be in midfield.
  10. What time difference does make a difference though? Folk have to draw a line somewhere. We used to kick off at 7.30 remember. Getting away from the place isn't particularly quick, and if you're returning to east Lancashire then time can march on.
  11. https://www.google.com/amp/s/news.sky.com/story/amp/covid-19-boosters-not-only-replenish-immunity-against-transmission-but-lift-it-too-new-data-shows-12469600 Have a read. Good explanation of the two effects of the vaccine. A 90%+ reduction in transmission is incredible. Maybe if everybody had their full programme of jabs then the endemic might actually be much smaller. That applies to everyone too, young and old.
  12. Look at the 3rd goal again. The proactive approach from John makes all the difference. He's out wide, but when the ball is played to him, he doesn't wait for it, but seizes the opportunity, plays a give and go, and causes all sorts of problems in their defence. That's what city do; pass it around, create a slight opening than inject that sudden bit of pace and job done.
  13. Aye. 3-0! Maybe Saturday's result wasn't so bad.
  14. I gave it a late swerve with a touch of gut rot, and my lad not available. Sorry Traf!😁
  15. Horwich a bit quiet. We're supposed to get beaten if he plays. Good for the lad.
  16. On the other hand, if we'd put the ball in the net against Sunderland, Burton, Sheffield Wednesday etc...
  17. He has improved of late, it's some of the pulling out of certain challenges that has frustrated me. At least he appears to be making up for that now.
  18. Take full advantage second half please. Release the Dapo on full steam as he's got the weekend off.
  19. Gender neutral. Adopt a German word, and keep everyone happy!
  20. Year 12 to age 24 is surprisingly low on that. The group before isn't unexpected, but I expected that group to be a bit higher than the older groups, but its not. Maybe it's gone through many- as the German suggests.
  21. Hope you do. Quite interested to understand how such a big battery capacity is fitted within the vehicle. At 100+kwh, I can only assume that it's an example of continual battery technology improvement. A good sized motor with it too, so you could probably drain the buggers pretty quickly of you wanted to!
  22. When you book, your jab date has to be 6 months from date of second. Can still book it now, but it won't be before that point.
  23. Heard that yesterday, to be honest, it's probably true of most countries.
  24. https://www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/passengercars/mercedes-benz-cars/models/eqs/saloon-v297/explore/numbers.module.html Sod it. Go all in on one of these bad boys! 😁
