  1. Players may well feel they should be in the side, irrespective of formation. Lolos seemed to do fairly well at Huddersfield, but was dropped. Part and parcel of a squad system.
  2. One of, if not the most dull speakers in football. I remember Lineker et al saying as such after one of his interviews. Anyway, what do folk think of the official club website? Always think it clunky and slow to update at best, but it's news page (first team) doesn't appear to mention the sacking of IE, let alone the search for a replacement. It's cack.
  3. They do have money. Owners have lots of it apparently. Whether they're prepared to spend it is another matter.
  4. Brought to you by AI.
  5. Can still appoint the manager though. If he's insistent on specific people, and they're wrangling over contracts, then at some point, the board have to look elsewhere. Players are riding high at the moment, but I don't see a temporary manager, on a game to game basis, helping longer term.
  6. The format was much better, and simpler still when it was a straight knock out.
  7. 🤣 No doubt it will bring about some benefits, but what mess when it becomes the go to tool.
  8. Didn't take long. No speculation yet though is there. Not even in the media. No doubt you missed the findings by the Koreans of duck remains in both engines.
  9. Didn't know it was on terrestrial! Meh anyway.
  10. Aye. Black Hawk. Some details have been made available over instructions given to both aircraft, from air traffic control. The plane was asked to use a different runway if possible, which they confirmed they could. Helicopter was told to get in behind the passenger jet. Obviously, more to come on that.
  11. It's on the America thread too. The third big one in a short time. A proper headscratcher this.
  12. I've got pretty much zero interest in it. Maybe if an English team got to the semis/final then it may change. As soon as the European Cup was wrecked by changing its knock out system, it became of little interest to many.
  13. Evatt had plenty of players on the pitch with injuries. Sometimes clearly hampering their performances. Posters on here have felt Santos himself appeared injured. Never understood it.
  14. An under 18 coach with decades of experience in the game too. More than any of the current candidates. Neither points matter entirely though: Huddersfield in particular was a performance of relief, desire etc borne from the sacking of Evatt. As for Nolan- I wouldn't entirely be convinced, but he does have plenty of coaching/assisting experience too, so who knows.
  15. How many were blocked/stopped? To suggest because the odd one or two were sent in means the player didn't do his job well is huge folly. Especially from someone that isn't one of the proclaimed managers on here.
  16. Iirc Jones is a fullback. Not entirely sure, but I think Cogley is too. We don't really know what they could do until they're looked at in training, then on the pitch. One thing for sure, is that none of our wing backs offer much defensively, and seem better going forward.
  17. Looks bad. Briefing by officials says a collision with a military helicopter. Trump has put out a statement on his "Bullshit antisocial" platform, and it is pathetic in its style and judgement. Anyway, for now, time to focus on the rescue operation in process.
  18. Good. Presumably AI will eventually overcome that though as it learns about everything? All a bit sad really.
  19. Wouldn't mind seeing him get a go from the off. Not sure what to expect from Reading as they're on a bad run but still vying like we are for the play offs. Would strengthen the defence you'd think. Not a bad option if we did fancy 4 at the back.
  20. I think that's often the case at the top levels of many industries. Supply/demand still works, but the very elite level works in the employee's favour. Does that particularly work for SS- to an extent, maybe, but he's not seemingly massively in demand at the higher levels. As above, we don't really know the score, but if the rumours are true, then eventually fans will start to question the appointment.
  21. Offer him a bonus for getting us up then. Not sure he can justify himself on his championship experience. Didn't hang around at one, and didn't last 2 minutes at the other. Stoke not his fault of course, but he did choose to jump ship to a bit of a basket case (owners). He would have more security here for sure. Any way, it's all supposition. O'Neill has consistently been up there, and I think he'd get a fair crack of the whip if he came.
  22. I agree there, but we never know! Remember a player for City, called Gérard Wiekens? For a time the fans didn't rate him, and said he couldn't control the ball or pass it very well. For some reason, by dad ended up with some tickets for Maine Road, shortly after Keegan arrived. The player was reborn, stroking the ball about with aplomb. The regulars around us were in awe and gobsmacked. In our case Sheehan's talent with the ball is recognised, so who knows, a new man may get him fettled.
  23. No, we don't. Hence folk will post, just like they do at work, or in the pub.
  24. I wouldn't!
  25. Not uncommon that sort of approach. He has to be more effective though- either taking markers away, or just being better at moving and being available. If he can't, then Lolos and Randall are available and perhaps need to be higher in the pecking order. We'll see what happens when the new man comes in, and whether he can find a way to get more out of him.
