  1. Are the like the ones you get in Thailand by any chance? I've heard about them but haven't come across any yet, I think they tend to be more available in Baga than anywhere else though and I rarely venture further north than Candolim
  2. I didn't think Mumbai was that bad to be honest. I got myself a tour guide and found it quite fascinating (the trip included a visit to Dharavi too). I did once get stuck in limbo at the airport due to a diverted flight which wasn't pleasant but they made up for that by putting me up the Lalit for the night 😁
  3. I decided to educate myself a bit more on it. You are supposed to claim asylum at a UK border by telling the Border Force staff you want to claim asylum. If you are already in the UK there is a hotline you can ring. There is a set eligibility criteria, one of the stipulations is that you are not supposed to have travelled via a "safe third country" therefore as I interpret it you need to travel directly from your "home" country to the UK and not traipse half way across Europe to get here. There's plenty more info on the government website if you want to read up on it https://www.gov.uk/claim-asylum
  4. Of sorts yes. Those that arrive on a "dinghy" and don't follow due process are here illegally. You can't just rock up and expect to be able to apply for asylum there's a process to be followed I believe (haven't a clue what that is though)
  5. Out of interest, what happens to those who come over on the dinghy's currently? Detention centre before being fucked off back to where they came from or something else? As I understand it, it's only those coming over here illegally that are to be sent to Rwanda (forgive me I've had a busy week and haven't been able to read, digest and form an opinion on the new issue yet)
  6. Sauce shop habañero ketchup. Has a bit of a kick to it 😂
  7. Yeah, we caught the tail end of it here, or at least the south did. My car was parked up at Gatwick for a couple of weeks and looked like someone had chucked a bag of sand on it when I picked it up
  8. I watched it over the weekend and I know documentaries are usually skewed more to one side of the story than the other but fuck me, in some of those interview snippets, he was basically telling us all he was a bad 'un but nobody really took him on and just laughed stuff off. It's absolutely crackers that it was covered up for so long
  9. Now they are a bunch of sharks (Simarc). I bought a new house last year and they wanted some ridiculous admin fee for transferring the lease over the me when the costs were clearly stated in the lease as being about a 4 quid. My solicitor advised me to send them the amount as stated in the lease and have done with it. I believe they also charge daft admin fees for late rent, quoting for the purchase of the freehold, alterations/permission to alter etc. I'm half expecting a letter off them soon as I was a few days late with my ground rent payment as I was on holiday when it became due.
  10. Aye http://jiggi.co.uk/
  11. It was shit this morning too! Roadworks had overrun on the M61 & St Peters Way so couldn't get on the M60. Had drive through Farnworth, Walkden & Worsley if you wanted to get on the M60/M62. I ended up fucking it off and getting on the A580 to Winnick Road instead
  12. You can ignore me. I've just checked and the article was about getting this years bonus. You need to chuck £4k in by tomorrow to get it.
  13. I think that's getting pulled after tomorrow (end of tax year). I'm sure I spotted an article about it earlier

    Wigan (A)

I thought the time difference was in years not hours?
  15. Do they not charge interest on cash withdrawals though? I've got a fair fx euro card and a revolut card. I've had the fair fx card from when they used to give you a bonus if you converted over a set amount but I'll probably get rid of it when it expires as the rate is a bit pants (used to be OK with the bonus)
  16. Strangely enough that's not too far from where I am now 🤦‍♂️
  17. Are you not entitled to claim owt back from HMRC too? I think the going rate is 0.45 for the first 10,000 miles and then 0.25 after that
  18. Today we had to say our goodbyes and return the Lab to his breeder 😞 Despite having a lovely temperament in the house he's always been very un-Labrador like when out and about. We're not sure whether it was just nerves or whether he had a screw loose. The vet thought he might just be overprotective initially so we had him chemically castrated to see if that helped but there was no change. He would basically just loose his shit whenever he encountered another person or dog when out and about. Anyway, he bit a jogger on his arse last week as he was running past so we couldn't really risk keeping him. We rang a few places and some were potentially willing to take him but couldn't because he had bitten someone. Luckily the breeder was willing to take back and he is now going to be trained as a gun dog (he's from working stock). Hopefully the breeder has more success training him than we did.
  19. This should tell you all you need to know https://www.pettravel.com/immigration/Spain.cfm
  20. You're possibly both being a little prejudice given it's in the Old Town and run by a couple (I assume) who both happen to be called Ian. Given its location I very much doubt that it is full of "tattooed shirtless fat fucks" and more likely to be frequented by those of a "pink persuasion" EDIT Just thought I'd chuck this in there https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g187525-d12845888-Reviews-Ians_Restaurant-Benidorm_Costa_Blanca_Province_of_Alicante_Valencian_Country.html
  21. The best one I've possibly had was a homemade one in Goa
  22. If only we had someone who works in the travel industry on here 🤔
  23. Primary School - Blackpool Zoo, Ellesmere Port Boat Museum, Quarry Bank Mill, some mining museum, there were some others I've long since forgot about Secondary School - Israel, Somewhere on the Costa Brava which included a day trip to Barcelona, Camelot, Alton Towers several times and lastly and possibly the best several local wanderers away games! (Clive Knott used to borrow one of the school minibuses, we'd chip in a nominal amount for fuel and off we went. The Burnley 2-2 game sticks out most in my memory!)
