I'm struggling to understand what you're trying to say. You're saying that the bookies got it wrong but Coyle/Freedman got it right by taking us to a new modern low and laughed in the face of the bookies for not setting up their books properly (to coin Traf's logic)? What I'm trying to say if the first post didn't already spell it out is that Freedman and we can include Coyle if you like, both had a decent enough squad of players to launch a challenge for promotion back to the top flight and the bookies agreed. Neither could do it and systematically reduced the quality of the squad as their failures in management became apparent. It is now down to NL to pick up the pieces and turn the squad around and so far he's making a decent fist of it. We will be able to judge further when he gets the opportunity to wheel and deal in the next two transfer windows.

Utter rubbish. The bookies are rarely wrong and had us favourites to go back up the first season after relegation and second favourites the second season. We were not plummeting down the leagues, only the manger at the time accelerated that. We're nowhere near the finished article yet, but with some encouragement and some sound and simple management we have turned a corner. I'll lay money that Freedman never gets a job of any note in the future and any job he does get will come nowhere near the opportunity he was given at Bolton. He is not a leader of men.

Leicester? What's the point? If and when he goes it will be to a big club that never gets relegated from the Prem where winning silverware is a realistic target. He has a job to do at Bolton and taking us back to the big time may land him a top job. He's no fool and will prove to all the current Premier League doubters that they missed a trick in not taking a punt on him. He's ours until we get promoted.

The class bit got to you did it. The post didn't mention Allardyce having class. It questioned those who vilify him for leaving the club and the constant barracking every time he's quoted. Just let it lie. I thought I'd furnish you with a couple of examples of why it lacks class. Now if you want to pick up your ball and take it home with you that's entirely up to you.

They hate him so much because when you have so many posts against your name, you've got to show everyone you can be controversial, quite self serving really. Sam Allardyce was a big player for us and brought us some great times as a manager and don't forget it. OK, he left us because he thought he couldn't take us any further without additional cash to take us to the next level, Champions League no sh*t. There are people on here with small club mentality, very much like the way Blackburn fans treated Shearer when he went to his hometown club Newcastle, soon forgetting that he'd won them the Premier League in 95. Tossers the lot of 'em. You don't see Man U booing Ronaldo even though he left them to go to a bigger club in Real Madrid, and I'm no lover of the red sh*te. You need to get out more and show a bit more class.

One up at halftime. Be interesting to see if we are true to form in the second half or if we can press on and get the win. Make or break for Freedman.
-
He'll go alright, it's just a matter of how long the board can hold on before it gets to the time that future revenue is going to be affected more by having him here than not having him here. We must be very near to that point now.
-
Fails to mention Jack Wilshere and fleetingly brushes past Daniel Sturrridge. Both those players had a huge influence on our position in the PL in two separate seasons. Not sure what he's trying to say other than he wants Freedman to stay. Go to the game today and watch how many Freedman players start, how many sit on the bench, how many are fit but forgotten about, see how they perform and make your own mind up if there's light at the end of the tunnel, because today surely has to be crunch time for him.

Poison chalice? Low key manager without pedigree brought in to bring youth through. No sign of anything of the like. #outofhisdepth.

Ask him to ask you if Wanderers Ways is still suffering year on year decline since I left the club and is it true you can get to Reading for £29 if in possession of a young persons railcard?

DF talks the talk but the hard part is walking the walk and that is something he is unable to do. Don't ask who's out there to replace him. Just get rid and if we need to put Jimmy Phillips in charge to steady the ship then so be it. Stop the rot. Dougie out.

All the classics mentioned above but I have a special recollection for the Swindon 2nd leg in the League Cup semi. A packed Burnden under the lights, going 1-0 down to make it 1-3 on aggregate, all hope seemingly lost. But no, the style, grit and determination to haul us back into a winning position and a cracking goal by Mixu at the end sent me and the Burnden faithful into raptures. Not forgetting that we had made our first major final since 1958. A great night.

All it would need is the slightest sniff of interest and there'd be a knee in his back. It won't happen though, they've made their money out of us.
-
Expect more changes from Dougie and if the game is won a few will jump back into the keep him camp. If we draw or lose, the pendulum will swing further towards the trap door than the other way around. Huge game for the board.

It's clear you're not for turning. The rest of the Dougie out brigade will look at the facts. Employed without a track record (Coyle could boast a more impressive CV) Had a squad the bookies installed as second favourites this season and everyone knows they're rarely wrong. Had also the momentum of a strong finish last season barring the loss of Dawson which we all knew would set us back. Has been given the opportunity to mix youth and experience with his own signings of: Rob Hall Connor Wilkinson Jermaine Beckford Alex Baptiste Marc Tierney Jay Spearing (Coyle loan signing originally) Craig Davies Medo Kamara Andre Moritz Neil Danns (loan) Liam Feeney (loan) Kevin McNaughton (loan) When will it end? Hand on heart can anyone tell me (excusing the youngsters) which of those players sets your pulse racing. Possibly the combativeness of Spearing on a good day albeit it was Coyle who brought him in. Do you think he's got an eye for a player? Do you think the club is a happy place to work? Does the team on the pitch look as though it's ready to turn a corner? Does he spread the net far and wide or does it look like a lot of players from in and around the same division he's been operating in for most of his footballing life? I'm afraid we've been given a bum steer, sold a pup. He's just not the man we hoped he'd be. It's not good to chop and change so often but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and say we got it wrong. Thanks but no thanks, Dougie out.

Just watched it on the beeb. What are the chances of the ball rolling down the side netting and finding a gap in the netting to make it look like it's gone in. More chance of winning the lottery. Just cements the call for video technology.

Coyle Tipped To Return To Club In Dramatic Twist Of Fortune
zaza_zaza replied to zaza_zaza's topic in Terrace Talk
New brush sweeps clean. I would imagine he'd have full autonomy over the table, bats and net and if that requires further expertise for him carry out the role then I would expect him to get the nod on a recruitment drive, and if that means his own people, I wouldn't expect the club to stand in his way. -

Coyle odds on favourite for new coaching role at club. Early reports suggest it's a job too good to turn down. http://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/article/table-tennis-casual-coach-job-vacancy-071013-1100252.aspx -
Whoops, used the quote button without responding. Not sure you'll get a figure for those sitting but viewing figures are measured by BARB (Broadcasters Audience Research Board). Whether they can be bothered how many people tune into DF's resurgent Whites I'm not so sure.
