  1. I remember that 'welcome back Bolton' message! Bit too young for the 70's games but I went twice to Blackpool. One for the Freight Rover (pitch invasion!) and one was the FA Cup I think. After the FA Cup game they let both sets of fans out the same time so there was fun and games outside. My mate got arrested for squaring up to some lot who came charging at us.Always remember, when we went back to court the place was full of Zulu's and their entourage, Birmingham had rioted there around that time, glad to get away from there I can tell you!

It was a bit tasty but so were plenty of places then (Fleetwood away!) don't remember it being worse than some so why drag it all up again?

I seem to remember Horwich RMI playing Blackpool away in the cup as well when was that anyone?

  2. Rioch doesnt emerge with much credit from that article!

It's obvious Felgate bears a grudge but Rioch had decided he wasn't up to the job. Whenever ex players slag off their former managers/colleagues it's usually best to read between the lines. Rioch was right and you could bet his version would be a little different. I still have a lot of time for Felgate though. He is one of those players who are Bolton through and through and gave me some great (and not so great, but that's football!) memories.

  3. Elmander isn't a bad player, to many times people only look at what he has done for their club and not what he has done in his career, he plays well for Sweden and played well in France, I won't complain if he's still at the club next season.

Elmander will go down in history as the biggest waste of money ever and one of our worst strikers. You and Homo can keep kidding yourselves, eventually you will have to face up to it. Did you also rate Ian Moores & Dean Holdsworth?

And I don't give a fcuk what he has done with Sweden or in France. Or championship manager dickwad.

  4. So is Vaz Te, who has played for Portugal at every level.

On the subject of records, up to this season, Nugent has scored 18 goals in 88 appearances for no less than Bury in Div 2, 33 goals in 94 for PNE in the Championship, and 3! goals in 31 for Portsmouth including none at all in the season when they came 8th in the Premiership. Pompey got him out because he was a failure there, nothing to do with his wages. They still took on the likes of Dindane on mega wages.

He just isn't a Premiership level goalscorer, and not particularly quick. I don't know what he would add to our team.

Vaz Te or Nugent. I know who I'd rather have and it ain't the invisible man! Well shut. =D>

  5. I doubt that you could find one post on here where someone has said that.

Yes you could. The same person who believes Elmander is under appreciated said that about Wilshere. I remember thinking fck me I'm wasting my time here, especially as the said person told me I know nowt about football.

  6. Banging heads against brick walls. Two facts matter:-

    1) Sam Allardyce is the best manager BWFC has had since Bill Ridding. The records prove this.

    2) In some cases, Sams biggest detractors on here were also Gary fcuking Megsons biggest supporters. Curious but true.

Absolutely spot on Bolty and why I have all but given up bothering on here now. Full of clever cnts who also can't see Wilshere's potential but idolise Elmander, slag Davies & Steinsson off for being popular, piss themselves laughing when someone said we'd get 39 points a few months ago and produce statistics to show Coyle is no better than Gary fcking Megson.

    Over and out.

  7. Ricketts is a good squad player just keep him away from right back! Looking forward to confirming our survival and watching Owen build his own team.Think he can be a big hit here

Ignoring the siuation with contracts (i.e. the practicalities!) I would not be averse to seeing the back of JLS, Shittu, Nicky Hunt, McCann, The Invisible Man, Elmander, Robinson, The O'Briens. Nothing controversial there but admittedly they would take some shifting and the Elmander Fan Club wouldn't be too happy.

    COYW!

  8. For me Cahill and Knight do not hold there positions there at right back, left back right midfield and centre forward to much moving around Centre halfs should stay in that position.

For me the full backs are the problem. Thought they were very poor Saturday. Robinson is a pub player and Ricketts never a right back. OC please find us some decent full backs in the summer!

  9. Should be interesting to find out how the club is going to keeps regulars to the Fanzone happy, especially if quite a few turn up expecting to get in on the day. I hope the club have quality answers to fans obvious anger.

How about 'Sorry, you'll have to mind your own kids for a change'

  10. Only a couple missing..... U support Rangers and your a loyalist???

and whats wrong with that ?

According to 123 it automatically makes you a 'bigot', apparently.

Anyways, new things I learned about the UAF/EDL after Saturday- nothing. What it proved is that the far right and the far left are as bad as each other, are not as different as they try to make out (Nazi dictatorship or Communist one, which would you like to live under?) and they both are enemies of the 'British' way of life.

The UAF is organised mainly by the SWP so it is really concerned with politics not racism.Attacking the police is an opportunity the rent a mob element can't resist. The EDL has come out of this weekend much the better in terms of propaganda. 2,000 might not seem a lot but given the fact that the whole establishment and media started out against them and that many decent people have been disgusted by the UAF fascists they could grow and grow. There is obviously a lot of latent sympathy for them out there. Which I find very worrying.

  11. I thought the Koran, the same as the Torah, state that married women should dress modestly, and hair covering is an example of this.Fair enough, I say. Covering the whole face is just plain silly and really it cannot be argued it has any place in a civilised society.

I think it's slightly worrying when parents cover their children's hair when the poor things are still, well, children. I always believed hair covering is done for purposes of men not conveting and so to portray their little girls as an object of sexual attraction is more than odd.

I know quite a number of Muslims who do not agree with the whole veil and body covering malarkey. They have said it doesn't say anywhere in their religion that it is necessary and they don't want to be pressured into wearing it. The fundamentalists who insist on it are trying to control women and push their own agenda, making Muslims visibly different and less integrated is in their interests. It does seem that these types do continually want to push boundaries back and see what they can get away with and in the name of 'multi culturalism' it seems anything goes. There are many different types of Muslims though and it isn't fair to assume they are all malcontents. The majority I'm sure just want to get on with their lives and be left alone.

  12. re israel

the locals get their land, homes, taken off 'em by foreigners

    they didn't like it, much

    ring any bells

yet they're supposed to accept it

    aye, alreet

Just like the Red Indians then Cas? And the Abo's. Give it all back.

  13. Why is a Gaelic top a supporting IRA top??? its a football top! as for the Israel flags. do u know wahts happening in Gaza? suppose you dont. Israel are the biggest terrorists on the planet.

i'll ask you this. what would you do if your country was occupied by another country? you'd fight to the death! As i would! israel kill innocnet people daily, but when a israeli dies, shcok horror!

Regarding the top, you are either naieve or being deliberately obtuse. If you really don't know why then don't be surprised if you get a reaction. And it is most certainly NOT a football top. Since when has football been a leprechaun sport?

Secondly don't lecture me on Israel. I have spent time there and don't just form my opinions from the BBC and Al Jazeera! Israel the biggest terrorists in the world? Showing your true colours now. What utter shite.

  14. Exactly whats a GAA top got to do with islam...nothing at all. so why should i have to take shit of a load of scottish lads in a mini bus when im nipping shop for a pint of milk.

Not even irish, visited friends in NI, and the jersey was a gift. so no i didnt have a EIRE flag.

I didnt sneer at folk from council estate, i grew up on a council estate. i meant that these lads were hardly from the mean streets of Heaton.

I've no idea what your IRA supporting top (which as you well know is why you got shit of those lads) has got to do with Islam. Perhaps you can tell me what gay rights activists, communists, anarchists and all the other general malcontents marching with your friends in the UAF actually have in common with Islam? Most of you lot would be the first to be stoned to death under their law.

The Israel flags I guess were there as militant islam wants to wipe them off the map and to counter the 'anti semitism' and 'nazi' jibes of the real fascists. The great unwashed are always fond of Palestinian flags as well, just like Parkhead on match day.

Personally I don't agree much with the EDL and their tactics but Saturday showed just what a despicable bunch of fascists the 'anti-fascists' are.

  15. [ I would also like to see the Megson chummers on here assess his qualities at another club.

Fed up with hearing about Megson. He's been gone for nearly 3 months now.

Don't worry, after Saturday he is just a bad memory! Only mentioning him in relation to another club but that's last time, I promise.

  16. Obvious that there is unrest behind the scenes at Hull. Since that chairman came back Browny has been kept out of the public eye more. Every time I've seen them they wheel out Kenny Everett to do the post match comments.

I would love to inflict Meggo on Hull, let's see how others like it! I would also like to see the Megson chummers on here assess his qualities at another club. Just a pity we have already played them twice, coming up against him would be very tasty.

  17. oh yesterdays performance, no

    on last weeks, yes

But Davies can still do it for us, even if off form one week and that's why we can't drop him (yet). Unfortunately Elmander is still flattering to deceive and I'm sorry but I see absolutely no evidence that 'he will get goals'.

  18. whilst I tend to agree, that's a huge decision for coyle.

One that I doubt he'd want to take.

Still think that after West Ham? Do you? Really?

Thankfully Coyle appreciates Davies (even past his 'best'). Some on here don't but who cares. Let's have it right, Davies is still far more important to us surviving this season than Elmander. Next season who knows but for now let's give credit where credit's due.

  19. Something is changing that is for sure, we have young, quick footballers all over the pitch, better options on the bench and a manager who belives in attacking football and has the courage to attack teams and try to play football the right way, I hope he is succesful in keeping us up as I think we could have a positive few years of good football under Coyle if we stay up and give him reasonable resources to keep bringing in quality flair players, the lift in the mood in and around the stadium amongst players and fans is tangible.

Once again Mounts you have said it all for me. In very difficult circumstances OC has made a positive difference. It's going to be very close. Let's all get behind the club.
