Robinson can’t defend to save his life, Wigan welcome to him.  Despite me being critical of Grounds he’s not fully wound up yet so might be more to come from him.

The same was said of Alonso.

Robinson won't get close to his levels but is much better than Taylor and Grounds

What gets me is I didn't see the flag until ages after the decision

Did it go up straight away?

Well in, week out we are getting done by these twats

We are not good enough to beat another team and the officials

It was offside, if Doidge wasn't offside the defender wouldn't need to challenge him. Didn't lose because of the officials today and I don't think we do week in, week out either

  3. Wigan really did us over by stealing Robinson. Especially annoying as he'd improved so much over the season with us last year.

Until we get a defence with some pace in we won't be able to play decent football as the gap between either defence and midfield or midfield and attack is too big. Look at the high line Blackburn were able to hold by comparison, nullifying Ozthumer in the process.

Still, we're improving since last year, still compete and have some more quality. Williams is a good player at this level too.

Th'East Midlands Whites are just back and are drinking heavily. Late thanks to the fuckers shutting the A50 at Uttoxeter. On the way up got diverted by some stupid bloody route via the north end of Stafford; on the way back tried the A52 up in the hills in the fucking dark, which is not much fun (conk out there and the locals would make sure there'd only be a well-picked skeleton left come daylight). Silly me for thinking that in this day and age you might actually be able to drive just 100  mile without being shunted round half of two counties in order to service whatever meaningless roadworks they're doing (what the fuck needs doing to a relatively new road that has constant but hardly excessive traffic on it - what the fuck is Uttoxeter suddenly set to become? A fucking spaceport?); and then when you hit the fucking M6 you're in the same shite that's been going on for the last two years. Two fucking years! As I said to the esteemed Haywood White of this very board at the game, the Japanese would have had it all fettled in a couple of months. It's all fucking criminal and people in charge of our roads and rail will undoubtedly get a knighthood for their effort (and donations) but in fact should be in fucking jail. Cunts.

    Anyway, at least we won

    I feel your pain.

Thought I'd drive up early yesterday to see my mum before the game. Left at 8am, 45 minutes later I was parked up in the second lane of the M6 in Stafford, watching the air ambulance land and sat there for an hour. Sure enough when it reopened there was a lorry at the scene and a completely mangled car.

There a roadworks pretty much solid from J12 to J18 now, and with lorries trying to do 60 in narrow lanes in a 50 speed limit, there's an accident nearly every game now. Midweeks are completely impossible to.

Anyway, the result made up for it. This time last year all the fans wanted was a team that battled and wouldn't give up, well we have it.

  5. I was quite surprised by their team, better than I expected.

We had an old guy at centre mid for 90 mins who wasn't good enough for their squad anymore and a left back not good enough for another relegation rivals squad.

We're stronger than last year but still a big work in progress

  6.

The reality is we will have shitty patches this season. I dread to think what it will be like in here.

I dread to think what it will be like if we lost on Wednesday, Parky out etc

This is an unbelievable start. Absolutely delighted and impossible not to enjoy what feels like our first great start for a long time!

  7. Went to see Lancs tonight. Bears have been hit and miss all season but Lancs looked really poor all over tonight, slack fielding and batting in particular, really sloppy.

Hopefully just an already qualified malaise as that was really poor

  8. Definitely agree about the squad Jules, definitely feel it's stronger and with a couple more signings will have more depth.

Hopefully the mini league at the bottom will be a bit bigger than last season

  9. Just read that article in the Ben

    Journos from around the league

    Three quarters have us down

Has nobody told them who we have signed?

Only three quarters? Every prediction I've seen has us 23rd

I'm hopeful Rotherham, Birmingham, Qpr, Blackburn, Wigan and maybe Reading give us a chance

  10.

Why do we need more ports why more staff they’ll only be dealing with the same volume of imported goods. It’s the same process for goods imported from Europe as it is for any other country.

Is it? I thought the process was quite different regarding customs, tariffs, checks etc regarding goods outside the EU? Guess not then.

  11. We should put our final offer on the table and proceed full steam ahead towards WTO. Only then will the EU begin to believe we are serious.

They know we can't go no deal, it's not a card we have, certainly not without a much longer transition period. Nothing is set up and ready for no deal, not food supply chains, not the FCA, not transport, nothing.

  12. My lad is badgering me to get this.

Is it available on Nintendo Switch?

And is it suitable for a 7 year old?

I think it is on switch now. It is free, can do in game purchases, they change your appearance but no advantage

The theme is 100 players drop to an island, need to loot and grab resources, shooting, chucking grenades, last person standing wins.

It's cartoony in style, no blood or gore so you probably just need to decide if comfortable with him playing a shooter game.

Only other hazard I would see is if he chooses to play in random teams of 4 he would be able to hear audio of random people talking. You could tell him to play in solo mode only if that's a concern.

It is quite addictive though for kids, they all seem to love it.

  13. BTW what a bunch of cunts to sit there agreeing the deal and then pulling out 2 days later.

This is the worst of it. Take it on the chin and leave there and then, not two days after saying you'd support it. Low.

  14. I doubt remainers are too gutted by this.

I accepted the result of the referendum, it wasn't what I wanted and it has caused a whole load of wasted time and money but this is barely Brexit at all.

We'll gradually recoup the initial monetary cost over time so the only downside is following ECJ directives to keep this deal going but with no say on them.

Once the result of the referendum was clear this is the best outcome that remainers could have hoped for in my opinion.

  15. If we get this soft Brexit through I think this is a great result. We've still got freedom of movement, access to the free market etc. It's a shame it's come at such an up front cost but we'll recoup that over my lifetime with smaller contributions to the EU. Only major downside is no say on legislation that will apply to us if we are to be able to have the free trade.

As someone who wanted to remain I think this is the best outcome I could have hoped for once the referendum result became clear.

  16. The pricing for this game is bizarre.

Surely there will be upgrades for free or something announced later in the week?

£30+ for this standard is insulting.

Read earlier Forest have sold out the upper tier and have requested the lower tier now, guess Ken needs the money, reducing ticket prices haven't increased home gates this season.

Edit: I completely agree our on the day prices for away fans are shocking

  17. Any side not able to meaningfully invest in a squad will be around bottom of the league, was always going to be touch and go whether we stay up, and it is.

The current structure and finances of the club mean we're likely to be around championship/league one position. No club with home crowds of around 10,000 has a given right to be in the championship these days, this is our level right now.
