  1. Might be because they didn't want the town to be associated with the hooliganism in football or something. In any case I don't see why they'd have a problem with it now. The current badge is piss poor, get it changed!
  2. He's got a new job already! Opening branches of Barclays. Was in town today to cut the ribbon on their new branch, Premiership trophy was there also (people getting photos with it) and some other weird folk passing themselves off as "entertainers".
  3. Aye, that's the dream. Can't see us not beating them though.
  4. Thought Taylor was to blame for their goal - no idea why he was stood where he was and ended up not being able to stop the cross. That was their one chance in the game and they took it. Not a great performance by us but we still did enough to win the game (apart from putting the ball in the back of the net). For me we've dropped points here against Chelski, Scouse and Wiggin, should have had more than 1 point for our efforts. Going to have to play better if we want to get anything at Stoke. Also, I don't know how but MOTD seems to be getting worse week in week out.
  5. Roque Santa "Claus" Cruz Juan Pablo Angel Gabriel Dennis Wise Men Gary Sleigh hill
  6. Just heard FSA has left the dingles - funny if true. Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out (providing he can fit through the door frame in the first place).
  7. So just the group games then. I'm all for that to be honest, I'll go watch Brazil at Old Trafford. Did you know the Brazil team were based at Burnden in '66? Wonder if we'd have the same honour next time.
  8. Anyone seen this in the Telegraph? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/bolton-wanderers/8160901/Owen-Coyles-attacking-philosophy-helps-Bolton-Wanderers-scale-Premier-League-heights.html Think I'm welling up, COYWM! I'm going for 4-1 Taylor, Cahill, SKD, Klasnic
  9. Probably just wants to make sure he has a job here so he doesn't have to go back home and fight in the up-comming WW3. Great news for the club and if we can get Elmo signed it looks like we're gona have this team together for a few years - may even convince Cahill his future is with us if everyone else is staying.
  10. You're right, we should be in the top fifty at least!
  11. Has Elmander turned into a double 'ard bastard or something? http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/nov/23/newcastle-mike-williamson-bolton-elmander Obviously if Williamson had tried that on SKD he would have had no head left but it seems he has more sense than that. Just as a matter of interest who was the hardest player from the pre-1990's? I would say Toefting from recent times.
  12. And Blackburn away that weekend.
  13. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/sports/7294015.html Noticed this a couple of weeks ago which is encouraging. I won't be happy until he has his own column in the NY Times.
  14. I don't think Petrov's omission from the starting line up in the last few games is a reflection of his performances this year, it's just that Taylor has seized his opportunity with both hands and is playing class. Good to see this kind of competition in the squad and I think it will give players like Mark Davies, Klasnic, Ricketts (up until the last 2 weeks) the belief that if they manage to put a good performance in they'll be given a fair shake. Just a bit of a shame we haven't managed to use some more players in cup games but maybe from Jan we'll have the oportunity - FA Cup and to half the table will do nicely for me. COYWM!
  15. Well played BWFC! Good performances all round but for me Holden, Taylor and Elmo were class. Now lets follow it up with another win and get 30 points before Christmas. Come on you Whites!
  16. She would be. If you are a bloke who marries the heir who's a bird then you are a Duke/ Prince (see racist Greek pick). If you are a bird who marries the heir who's a bloke then you are the Queen (the Queen's mother was Queen Elizabeth also). Even though you are a Queen by title (see Graham Norton) you arn't the monarch so you don't get a number or anything on a post box.
  17. You mean the Well Spoken Man? (aka James Hewitt) Looks nothing like Harry! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2273498.stm
  18. Did Capello even try putting the left footed player on the left and the right footed on the right? Surely that's the obvious change to make, swing the ball in the box from the by-line and score some good old fashioned headers.
  19. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/oct/12/england-montenegro-euro-2012-qualifier "As for Kevin Davies: it took Bolton's bruiser 16 minutes to collect the first yellow card of his international career and not much longer for him to leave his imprint on Montenegro's goalkeeper in a style that might have prompted his dismissal." "Davies, who replaced Crouch on 69 minutes in this 0-0 draw, mistook his international debut for Bolton versus Blackburn. In a tournament he would be gone in 60 seconds." Is this guy serious? It wasn't even a foul never mind a booking! The guy just ran into him and fell over. As for the keeper, what was wrong with going for the ball? Did nothing wrong. Some people are just fecking ridiculous.
  20. Slightly off topic but did anyone hear Radio Five this morning between 9:00 & 9:15? They were discussing the increase in the "Yoof" (for want of a better word) element in footy. Quite interesting I suppose, most sensible argument came from some guy suggesting young hooligans were more a product of the way our society is at the moment rather than an endemic problem with footy. Anyway there was this guy on called "Ian" from Bolton, ex-forces, children aged 13 & 20 odd., travelled far and wide watching club and country; he was the only one (not surprisingly) defending football hooligans, claiming it was some kind of natural defence against people attacking his club/country. The BBC had said he couldn't say which team he supported but it had to be us, he made us sound like a right bunch of not-rights. I guess there is some relevance with the thread in that football matches/the atmosphere surrounding them used to be a release from the crappy realities of life, now it's just another thing to do on the weekend because there's nothing else to do.
  21. Is it true Everton have never been relegated? Impressive if true. Would love to see the current bottom three to go down - don't like Wolves, despise Wet Spam and I think Liverpool being relegated would be fvcking hilarious. Do you reckon they'd still use those banners that say "A big club" in the Championship?
  22. Don't blame you - it's a sh!t hole!
  23. About six years too late and he won't play but it shows things are on the up. Wonder how much Coyle has had to do with this, he's not shut up about SKD since he got here. Here's to training ground injuries for Bent, Crouch and Rooney; SKD on his own up front and a hatrick to boot.
  24. Must be to the Wild Rover. Need a chorus now mind.
