not quite, Redknapp stuck with him despite getting shit off the press for playing him

they didn't win in his first 24 games

"But, amazingly, the Premier League side failed to register a win in his first 24 appearances, leading some journalists to question whether Spurs manager Harry Redknapp was right to select him.

The Sun's Pat Sheehan covered Tottenham's 1-0 defeat by Everton on 30 November, 2008. He wrote: "One glance at the score and any Spurs fan will tell you without looking at the line-up that Gareth Bale must have played.""

I'm not convinced we can thank Redknapp for Bale's brilliance.

He definitely had a clause in his Spuds contract that he earned a % of the transfer value of players he sold. Wonder how much of that £230m ended up in his or his dog's account?

I think it's fair to question this may have happened at Portsmouth as well?

You're in a 'Saw' type scenario and in a room with two other men. The only way you can survive is to save the life of one and to end the life of another.

The two other men in the room with you are 'Arry and CE7.

    Who lives and who dies??

See as I'm a glass half full man, I'd look at the positives as I could end one wanker.

I would choose Redknapp as Eagles potentially has a sell on value, which we could reinvest in good players.

I'd not disagree with that. He's always been someone who always tends to buy rather then develop. You could say the same about plenty of other managers though. Allardyce for starters.

Just so we're clear though, I'd not want you to think I'm not of the opinion that 'Arry's a cunt.

Ha ha course we all know he's a cunt.

I merely want to dispel this myth he's a good manager when he really isn't.

Spurs were in an okay position when he left.

It's up to the owners of the business to ensure the club is financially sound, not the manager IMO. A lot of the players he signed for Portsmouth were players who would still have a high re-sale value - Crouch, Diarra, Defoe, etc.

Yes they were in an okay position when he left, perhaps underachieved. But don't buy into this they were bottom with 2 points guff when he took over. They were never gonna finish there. I'll give you diarra but the other 2 he resigned so hard to tell. I think you could actually point at the fact he's very poor at developing players?

Where were Spurs when he took over, and when he left?

If you look at where spuds finished the season before he came, 5th. He finished 4th a couple of times, only once relevant at a huge spend across the years. Absolute chancer who courts popularity by being the media darling. I think if he was allowed he'd of sold bale and maybe bought chimbonda again for the 50th time.
  7. If you were a manager and you were told you had 50 million to spend, you would spend it in order to better the team.

As annoying as Arry is, he has only spent what he has been allowed to

But improved nobody in the process long term?
  8. Fair enough but don't whine when you get caught.

Oh I couldn't be arsed doing it myself as I'm a lazy bugger but I can understand why people do.

But I would also be quite pleased if I ever earn the money for it to be worth doing. Swings and roundabouts.

  9. Anything is possible with the shambles we have running the club.

Maybe Kenwright could do a musical about the goings on and make the club some money?

On a serious note is it right that Moyes spent 170 million at Everton Pablo?

  10. I had 12 stitches in my head in Kavos and had to have my stitches out their too. A costly exercise I wouldn't recommend for anyone to do!

I also got a first taste of what it was like to have a Bobby Charlton style comb over.
