  1.

When I fooked my ankle the surgeon told me that if I had sustained the same injuries 15 years earlier there would have nothing they could have done bar fuse my bones together in my ankle therefore leaving it a stump!

    Remarkable how quickly things progress.

But by the same token I would have been about 7 year old 15 years previous so wouldn't have been walking home from the pub.

Do you actually believe that last paragraph mate. Everyone knows you don't get hangovers when your younger so the likelyhood is you'd of been at the pub every night ha.

    He did...

The earliest case of this I remember and was still quite a 'new' injury at the time.

    Was never the same afterwards.

It's amazing hearing some old pros describing injuries that finished their careers from as recent as the 80s that are now so easily recovered. You're right about Walker it took his edge off, where as if it were now he'd probably made a full recovery.
  3. Aye I know mate. Went to extreme there.

But I still reckon 4th is better than a cup. Spurs are now reaping the benefits of a year in champions league because they've managed it well.

Not the best example I gave pal. Oh I see your point of view and think if a club is viewed as a business the cash cow of finishing 4th is the winner, you can't argue about the fact better players will come. In an ideal world I think the champs league 4th place should be converted to the fa cup, to upkeep the prestige and a proper reward for actually winning silverware.

Kinell. I'd rather know my club is going to exist for the next 20 years and give me summat to do on a Saturday afternoon than to have beat Cardiff or whoever one day and my club fucked and 100's of people lost there jobs and the local area lose shit loads of revenue....

4th every time for me (assuming you get to group stages)

it was more about the cup win over 4th than a cup win over stability, wasn't really the point I was trying to make. It was more despite all that's gone on that day still remains special as something they can look on with pride.
  5. Burnley are in for Fulham's Kacaniklic.

He's not looked too shabby on the very brief highlights I've seen on MOTD.

    Worth a punt?

Think he played for Dyche at Watford last year.
  6. I reckon most Arsenal fans would rather qualify for the Champions League than win a cup.

I reckon most Arsenal fans wish they were Bolton fans ha ha. I used to love it when we beat them under Allardyce and genuinely frustrated when we didn't a la the Henry 97th minute equaliser at highbury
  7. Well thats Arsenal for you now, lead by the man that tells them finishing 4th is better than winning a Cup.

    Madness.

It is. Cup over 4th anyday. Don't get me wrong if we did finish fourth I wouldn't be too upset but silverware is the aim of the game surely, spoke to a pompey fan recently and regardless of all that's gone on, he loved that cup win and so he should.
