  1. Thats spot on, despite my previous post ruled by the heart we'll do well to get a draw but it's the fear of mass discontent on the terraces and post match PR disasters from Gary that concerns me most if we can do what Rembrandt suggests then I'm sure the crowd will recognise the effort - would be nice to at least score - 3 games no goals will not make good reading.
  2. Right I've backed Elmander to bag in every game so far so in the interests of reverse psychology I am going for 2-0 whites JLS & Jussi
  3. If we bring Kevin back it will be through pure desperation we are seriously running out of time in this transfer window, I'm sure we'll have targets but with opposing clubs having little time to get replacements it's looking like our best hope is on shite loanees - please Eddie let me be wrong and dig deep son!
  4. Can't disagree but thats the problem neither him nor the seriously anti Megson brigade will change their opinion they hate him he has nothing but contempt for them so unless there is a shift from either party his position is untenable as thousands of fans are unlikely to change their view en masse. I wonder if Senator George Mitchell is free having brokered peace in Northern Ireland he has experience of seemingly irreconcilable differences!!!
  5. Yes sorry carlos i thought "this is another anti megson turning thread" when i posted it just wanted to respond to yatesy - in answer to your question there are arguments for all of your scenarios IMO it's post Sunderland - I thought most of last seasons ridiculous tit for tat between him and the fans may have come to an end and he'd get a chance but it's pretty obvious it hasn't IMO a manager who is only ever one performance from getting pillaried by the majority of fans and regularly makes negative references to his own clubs supporters is in an untenable position.
  6. if a bit of rumbling at the match was a by product of re-introducing terraces, passion, proper banter, vocal support and altogether more of a vociferous match day experiecne I for one am in in!
  7. Agree with everything except Megson being here to stay - I don't think he is, his position remains untenable in my opinion and if 10 games in, results are as they have been in the league it will be the final nail as they say. A one nil win at Tranmere in the carling cup has done nothing other than put us in the next round which is good don't get me wrong!
  8. A wins a win so happy days the score didn't reflect our dominance not huge amounts to write home about just wish Elmander had got the goals he deserved - keep going Johan it will come good lad!
  9. That looks a good side to me Gaz - When Gardner fit in for Chung and S Davies for M Davies maybe still abit confused what S Davis is in the side to do to be honest.
  10. "We are Tran Me Are" 1 - Super Whites 3 Elmander 2 - Cahill - 1 Come on Johan get in the goals please please!!
  11. I couldn't see for looking on the website - they are available at the away turnstiles ?17.50 COME ON YOU WHITEMEN!!
  12. Fair enough- they are pissing in the wind!
  13. The reporters question will have been something like "what about the discontent on the terraces" answer should have been "well they are disappointed about the first 2 results as we all are but we're positive we'll get the team to gel and start producing results soon" if he has to make reference to the fans then "most the fans support the team through thick and thin and thats appreciated by the players it's only a minority that have a go at me but I hope we turn it round and get results to get them back on board soon" It's not rocket science - defuse the situation and blow a bit of smoke up the decent fans arses to at least try and build bridges - perpetuating this siege mentality between the team him and the fans is just ridiculous and highlights his limitations I can fogive and understand on a lot of issues but this particular side to him is the one that absolutely fucks me off and I think is the route cause to most his problems - the man needs to grow up swallow a bit of pride and give himself half a chance.
  14. Where's ?7m come from is that not quoted figure for Achilles Tendon? No way Beckford will be ?7m in last year of his contract I suspect we'd have to go over the odds to maybe ?3.5m but not ?7m?
  15. ?Some of the new players are having to cope with things that maybe they haven?t seen before ? in fact, they are sat in there discussing it right now. ?But that?s something they will have to cope with if they are playing for this football club.? extract from BN today referring to discontent on the terraces - I've cut and paste this section but I don't think just reading that you get any sense of it being out of context - my point however is, it's another example of garys disasterorous PR. I can understand the style of play to grind out results I can understand why he was appointed i can understand why he's been given time I can understand his signings but why oh why does he have to keep coming out with this and antagonising the fans - we have got fans that give him dogs abuse but you just do not say that it, throws a blanket over everyone and he is simply confirming that his position is untenable it's infuriating we can't support him if he won't support us - what is his agenda why is he here I just dont get it?
  16. Bloody Hell didn't realise he was in such a prominent position highlights again the class of the man - not sure how good his english is, that's a factor for me on any new manager - the chances of us ever getting close enough to him being our manager to worry about that are well seriously slim at best but never say never. As for Gary well having slept on it, it's a big week ahead for the team as the pressure mounts - tough cup game plus top 4 side - it's rally the troops time I'm going tranmere now i'd much rather see us in the next round of carling cup and at least bloody the scousers nose than see our situation get worse by bad results and performances which might hasten his exit
  17. You may well be right but his position is verging on untenable now - fans fighting again at half time over this issue equals a seriously divided club it has got to stop and everyone knows the only way to do it - no way on earth gary can come back to a long even medium term tenable position at BWFC it's gone to far - I'd say for his sake he needs to move on - he's got "kept us up for 2 seasons" on his CV and a league or two below, that fact will get him a job.
  18. From a previous post i'd put Gary Johnson, Aidy Boothroyd, Alan Curbishley and Gordon Strachan - all better than Fester 58's suggestions IMO but equally viable - if it happens it needs to be early enough so they have a chance to succeed - just when you thought last seasons kit couldn't get any worse and it did well fuck me if they appointed Glenn Roeder I think I would crash to my knees and weep.
  19. I've consistently said i think Elmander has quality and would score if we played to his strengths my point was the boards reaction to this interview in which Gary seems to be pinning his hopes of getting more striking options in on the board when he has spent our record transfer fee on a player who has all the issues noted by you - ie take responsibilty gary
  20. hahaha true - you know when you have these thoughts what if........I'm taking No balls advice what will be will be BUT if we lose at tranmere with the reserves I'll be reaching for the valium!!!!!
  21. Exactly my point - so why has he appeared to only really start looking for striking options late in the window and spent money in areas we appeared to be ok in - Eddie davies is a hard nosed business man I doubt he'll say it's ok Gary the glass is half full after he spent ?8m of his cash on a forward recommended by Gary who can't seem to score in his team. You cannot keep defending Megson, he's got to take responsibilty for his actions he's had enough time and enough money and as a result he's now got enough rope and the gallows are looming - theres no satisfaction in that at all because it means we must be shit but unfortunately it's true.
  22. I agree those not coming because of the manager is twaddle have never done would never do - any suggestions for a viable alternative? I know you've not said he should go now fair play on that i think it's early but he's only got 4 or 5 games of this and he's in serious serious trouble - who would you go for if he went? My suggestions aren't particularly my choice just viable options - I'd love to think Louis Van Gaal would like to come and ply his trade in the prem for the challenge he's done wonders at unfashionable Az Alkmaar with no money with Gudni or Hierro as Assistant - 99% pissing in the wind on that one but you can dream.
