  1. Is that the 1lb steak burger? Always sticks in my mind as one of the best food truck experiences of my life.
  2. One of the things Americans do right is food, especially at sporting events. The baseball/football stadium here has fresh baked pizza, gourmet burgers, and tons of tiny independent hot dog stands. It's a shame the sports are awful.
  3. To be fair, we were doing OK before the goal too...
  4. Only if we win by 5 goals. Ninth otherwise...
  5. Wheater for Wilson, otherwise unchanged.
  6. THIS!! This kind of situation can NOT be fixed unless women start feeling empowered to come forward immediately and get evidence on file. There is literally no other way of fixing sexual assault situations. One of the best things Justice Kavanaugh could do (when he's confirmed) would be to find some way of passing some kind of law that makes it easier for women to come forward with these kind of allegations in a more timely manner.
  7. 100% agree. It's hard to avoid (a) because almost everyone has their own political and moral beliefs, that often align with a particular party. However, (b) could be easily achievable (and probably should be changed).
  8. FBI report reviewed, Kavanaugh is all but set to be confirmed on Saturday. I guess that still leaves 48 hours for the Democrats to dream SOMETHING up...
  9. Well there it is, couple of days later than I thought but I was right. A NEW witness has surfaced who happens to know two of the previous accusers and Kavanaugh (since Beach Week 1980) and can vouch for the accusers' authenticity. It's getting pathetic.
  10. I want to take an airhorn there to celebrate with... That University has gone downhill since I was there.
  11. And, yes... they asked those 2 exact questions. It's laughable, at best, and utterly devious at worst.
  12. That's probably fair. I mis-spoke slightly (this is what you get when I reply on the way to a meeting). I should have added "directly" to the end of my first sentence. Normally, the tester would ask direct questions about the case so that there is a clearly indication of any deception, as well as first asking some baseline questions to level the machine at her natural body levels at rest. Obviously the statement accuses Kavanaugh, but she has corrected parts of the statement since (number of people at the party, number of people in the room etc). If the statement has been corrected since, it means that it wasn't completely true, which makes the lie detector results null and void. If she wrote that statement, and then wrote another (truthful) statement about something completely unrelated, she could easily say "no" to both questions even if she was lying. There's only a very weak link between the results of the test and the statement she wrote (which, by the way, reads as if it was written by a fifteen year old - see attached). This is a well-known way of fooling lie detectors tests - just as you can replace the question asked with a different question in your head to which the answer is true. This is why lie detector results are not admissible in court. For what it's worth, I think he was there... I think he tried it on with her (not to the extent that she claims, but certainly not "asking for permission"), and she refused and ran away, or she egged him on to the bedroom and then had second thoughts - either way wouldn't surprise me. However, by even admitting he was there it would give full credibility to her story and take away his chances of being confirmed (as SCOTUS). He probably lied about not being there, thinking that it would not have gone on for this long, and now caught in that lie he can't retract as it's a massive no-no for a judge to lie. Personally I still think he should be confirmed anyway. He has a flawless record as a judge in a 20+ year career, and who hasn't done some dumb stuff in highschool, under the influence of alcohol. The whole thing is a farce.
  13. That's generous. He's been dreadful.
  14. We haven't played well, but it's hard to not feel robbed now.
  15. Feels like every 50/50 goes their way. I really don't understand these referees sometimes.
  16. Grounds has to be careful, he could be getting a red here. I count at least 3 fouls since he's been booked.
  17. Probably the best thing about this game is how it's still only 1-0. Go into halftime at 1-0 and we've still got a chance.
  18. Haha. Someone tweeted TowerFM and asked him to stop saying "recycle".
  19. Stoke are ripping us apart to be honest. Needs to change or this could be a repeat of Wembley.
  20. STOP SAYING "RECYCLE" FFS. God I hate this commentator.
  21. The questions that she answered in no way pertained to Kavanaugh. The two questions were: "Is any part of your statement false?" "Did you make up any part of your statement?" There isn't even evidence of base-line questions such as her name, age, past etc. It's a "lie detector test" in name only, to be honest.
  22. I believe it's just the one. The other two were already dismantled by basic fact checking. I'm sure that the investigation will reveal no evidence, but it does give the Democrats time to find another accuser or two. My money is on Monday afternoon.
  23. Correction - he HAS had his career prospects ruined. This is the main thing that winds me up about the #metoo movement; it creates the only situation where the normal presumption of innocence is not followed. Is it possible this guy sexually assaulted this woman? Of course, but not only is her story not corroborated, it's been actively refuted by witnesses. In any court of law this would have been over and done with, but it's VERY clear that the Democratic members of the Senate are delaying as much as they can with the hopes of getting more representation into the Senate during the November mid-term elections. It's the most blatant case of politically-tuned career sabotage that I've ever seen in my life, and it really drives me mental that nobody sees it. I can only put it down to a lack of intelligence among the general American public. If you believe the accusers that the Democrats have presented, you'd have to believe that a 15-year old boy was running drug and alcohol-fueled gang rape parties, and not only that but ones that one of the accusers CONTINUED to attend after being one of the main attractions (so to speak). It's utter nonsense.
