  1. Well you replied to the post with pictures from the training, and asked if any Bolton fans were in attendance, the game isn't until tonight, so what does it sound like you were talking about? And if a person isn't wearing a Bolton jersey, how would anyone know they were a fan? They were all Dynamo fans, because theoretically it was only open to Dynamo season ticket holders. There are a few Bolton Holden jerseys at Dynamo games, by the way. And you might not consider going to a training session, but we find them interesting. It was a chance to talk one on one with players, especially Stu who a lot of us know and haven't spoken to for a while. But besides, it's cool to watch teams train, a lot of people (not me) go to American football practices and big crowds turn out to baseball spring training sessions. I drive an hour into town to see Dynamo trainings, it's a chance to know what's going on with the team and to talk with other soccer fans (of which there aren't many where I live).
  2. Nobody there had Bolton jerseys, but a lot of people knew who the player were, which was better than me. There were lots of EPL fans, if that counts. And there were several there flaunting their British accents. Most (including me) were just there out of curiosity more than anything, but left impressed. The training was good, the guys were having fun and joking around some but put in some good hard practice too. There were some sweet goals made and some good saves too. Coyle made a lot of fans with his sense of humor, he joked around with us (though half the time we had no idea what he was saying ) and invited us down onto the field to be closer to the players. He called the guys over to talk to everybody and they posed for pictures, chatted and gave autographs. Of course, Holden was the most popular, it was really good to see him back on the field here. I'm really looking forward to the game tonight.
  3. Where are "the fat cunt" and his friends coming from? Is anybody coming from Bolton? I would tell you where to find me, but starting with Wednesday's game our parking lot will be partly closed for construction of a parking garage. Thanks University of Houston, this is the last year we have to put up with their crap (new stadium next year.) If you see a white Subaru with two Dynamo flags on poles at the back end, that's me. Your loss last night puts a lot of pressure on the Dynamo. We can't lose to a team that lost to a team nobody even knew existed. but we have 3 guys that have recently shown up for trial (2 of them today) that will be playing. Plus we are hoping to see a 17 year old goalkeeper who is with the Academy and the US U17s, a very good player but never played against an adult team before. He played the full game with the reserves last Sunday against Monterrey's U20s and played very well, stopping a penalty and making several saves. Since we have important games the two Saturdays around the Bolton game, we might not be playing many starters. I hope to catch a Bolton practice if I can work it around my busy schedule (I'm a teacher and basically not doing anything unti next month.) See yall next week!
  4. We were laughing at the Dynamo training session this morning, Bolton keeps talking about the 85 degree heat in Florida, they won't know what hits them when they get here. A Dynamo FO guy said they had asked to train at 3. Nobody (but mad dogs and, oh, yea.....) goes out in the middle of the afternoon in Houston. When I got in my car after the training at 12:00 the thermometer said 100. It's just as humid as Florida, too. Welcome to Houston.
  5. Bolton announced they will also play Orlando City July 17. Well this is embarrassing. I came here to check the date of the Orlando game to post on our boards, but I posted it here by accident. Now I don't see a delete option..... Forgive me. What did they call me on the other thread, a flower pot?
  6. And if you still want to see more, here's today's story from the Chronicle, mostly about Holden. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/soc/7526181.html
  7. Here is the video of the press conference where the game was announced, nice things said about Bolton. The first speaker is Chris Canetti, the Dynamo CEO, then Dominic Kinnear the head coach, striker Brian Ching and finally Stuart.
  8. Plant pot. Haha. ::
  9. Damn, I didn't mean to make all of England turn on Stu. He's here for rehab, he's done serious rehab several times here. And I think he wanted to come back to his mom and his sister. His team mates knew he was coming, they've been wishing him good luck here. I'm really sorry I posted that, but I imagine you would have found out anyway.....
  10. Ooops, sorry Stu, didn't know it was a secret. I think he's been here since Wednesday. By the way, the Dynamo are going to announce today that Bolton will be here this summer after all. With or probably without Stuie. Yall come.
  11. Hi guys. Stu was at our game last night.... he greeted the supporters' groups, you can see it here He will be on a Houston soccer radio show Tuesday night in studio. It's streamed live on 790.com but I don't think you can listen out of the country (it will be on at 7 our time I think (which I think is about 5 hours behind you). They post the podcast just after the show, check it out here http://www.sports790.com/cc-common/podcast/single_page.html?podcast=glenndavis. It's also on iTunes, the show is called Soccer Matters and the host is Glenn Davis, but I'm not sure what it's called on iTunes. He has another show on Monday nights which is more focused on the Dynamo specifically that runs two hours, the Tuesday show is just one hour long. Sorry, I didn't mean to imbed the video in the middle of my post like that, it's early here and I was up late, and now I am late for work.....
  12. Thanks. Part of my problem was that I didn't see the last line in PSBU's quote above it that mentioned Fulham, I didn't understand where Fulham came from. And the rest just didn't make sense about Lincoln, 5 a side and all. Now it's coming together. I'm a little slow. But yall really do talk funny over there. I do still want to see Bolton here, I hope it works out. Nigel, the PSBU guy, was going to buy your game tickets, I was planning on taking you all out to enjoy an evening in my town, East Bernard (google it ).
  13. Does that make sense to people in England, cause I have no idea what it means. I get the words, but haven't got a clue what he's trying to say.
  14. Yea, I didn't know exactly what he was talking about either, I didn't think people in Bolton knew about his orange history. In Houston he wasn't exactly known for his tan. I still like the idea of orange in the stands, though...
  15. I like this. Stuie knows what "forever orange / por siempre naranja" means.
