Cba multi quoting, apologies if done already; there is a chapter on this in the moneyball book- Mourinho said something along the lines of only the English celebrate a corner like a goal. Only 1/10 on average lead to a goal when launched in the box, as a coach of younger kids (especially when they haven’t been taught/allowed to head a ball) I always encourage short corners to either create an overload, or work a chance at the edge of a box to get a shot off. the hand signals will vary and try to confuse, could be fingers raised, ball bounced/moved to indicate where they intend to play- so what appear to be different gestures will be the same and vice versa

Keepers are taught to play and position themselves as an extra defender. They’ll have sessions purely on passing/distribution where they won’t even don their gloves. They have briefs of where to be in and out of possession, with directives on controlling the pace of the game. If you see a keeper making a flying acrobatic save, there is a good chance his position was off, but he was set- not a bad thing, but the best keepers make it look easy
