  1. Holy communion shoes, surely?!
  2. To everyone going this morning, for those of us who can't- do us proud and get that away end jumping. To the regiment!
  3. Have you tried Google?
  4. Fookin ell. 😲. That's commitment/devotion/madness!
  5. Nice to see mention of Echobelly again. I had a major crush on that lass 😍
  6. My old man was telling me today that his insurance had more than doubled to £1200. He had a look on Go Compare & their cheapest was nearly 2k! I was hoping it was because he's well into his 80s but looks like it's massive increases for all of us.
  7. Atletico Madrid is the first one that always springs to my mind. There's been plenty of others too though. The pedant in me says we lost 0-4 to Newcastle when Bo went in net?
  8. It'd certainly be unexpected! I just didn't understand MickyDs reasoning about research facilities not buying any because they'd have to get rid of em. I'm sure there's a more plausible explanation but it's not beyond the realm of possibilities that an unscrupulous, possibly Johnny Foreigner medical institute have been buying their corpses from Hull.
  9. All well reasoned but I didn't understand this bit. If a body is sold for medical research, surely the researchers just do their dissections and stuff on them and wouldn't need to be getting rid of them? Well, not straight away obvs.
  10. Some tough remaining fixtures left. This is probably the toughest. For all the plaudits this team rightly receives, there's still a question mark over their performances in the biggest/toughest of games. Saturday would be a great time to put any such doubts to bed. C'mon Wanderers!
  11. Fixed that for you. Be sure to let the Ukrainians know too?
  12. I did a couple of Ultras a few years back. The first one, 40 miles round Dovestones, I tagged along with a colleague who has done loads of them but is always very close to the cut off times. It was perfect preparation because without her slowing me right down, I'd have probably blown up 30 miles in and quit. We came in 3rd and 4th from last. Lights were all off and most of the stuff packed away when we crossed the finish line, which was a bit anti climactic to say the least. A few months later I did a 70 miler in the lakes and went at my own pace. She got turned back as out of time at the last checkpoint. There were 60 odd did the first one. Over 100 in the lakes.
  13. Palestinians see their homeland as having been taken over by an occupying force. Israel 'destroying Hamas', whilst simultaneously slaughtering civilians, isn't going to end resistance. See also Vietnam, Congo, Kenya, Northern Ireland etc etc
  14. 😆. Thicker than a whale omelette!
  15. Mrs DE takes her dad and uncle, both 90 yo, to the sporting memories thing at the Reebok every month and the disaster was a point of topic there last time. They were both there at the time, thankfully in the Lever End opposite but it was packed in there too and her uncle was carried over the crowd and deposited on the pitch. He remembers the crowd was so close to the touchline, the linesman was having to run inside it and around stray spectators. RIP
  16. Breakfast at Curley's then setting off.
  17. Love this team but after the last 2 aways I was questioning their bottle. I was wrong.
  18. We just don't win these type of games. Tactical and mental frailty.
  19. Burnley have a goal disallowed. Cue "Premier League, corrupt to f*ck!" songs from the locals. Aye, because a corrupt league would want Bournemouth in it!
  20. George's response is superb! Love him or hate him, and personally I think he's great, he's a hell of an orator!
  21. For all Dwight Yorke's faults, he wasn't (& still isn't) in the same bell end ball park as Joey Barton was, and yet the Chairman of Fleetwood took a punt on him. I suspect there are plenty of middle aged, white chairmen, who won't take a punt on a black player trying to break into management, let alone one with baggage.
  22. She's excellent isn't she? Baroness Warsi seems like a good egg too. She surely needs to leave that party though.
  23. I paid a fiver for a pint in Reykjavik in 1996. Last summer I paid £8.50 at the MEN arena. Inflation mustn't have hit Scandinavia as hard as it did the rest of Europe.
  24. Richard Lewis gone apparently. Only ever seen him in Curb
