In previous conscription there have been a number of conscientious objectors, refuseniks etc. I can't see a scenario where any attempt to conscript swathes of young people wouldn't be met by huge numbers refusing to go.

That's how I saw it. Flag didn't go up and we were all saying "has the ref given the offside there?". Linesman then put it up, pretty sheepishly I imagine. Having seen it a few times I still can't see an offside.

Netanyahu will never allow a Palestinian state while he's in power, despite many many Israelis supporting one. Palestinian extremists not recognising Israels right to exist are far, far outweighed by those Palestinians who just want a viable state of their own. Moderates on both sides and internationally, recognise a 2 state solution is the only long term answer.
