I'd never seen this full version before. The opposition side supposedly had no idea who they would be playing against until they went on the pitch, I find that hard to believe but would be great if true.

    What's your name?

    "Charlton." 😀

    Should have said Charlton, Bobby.

The only real winning argument for HS2 was that without a secondary line upkeep & maintenance on the increasingly decrepit current main lines would drag on for decades with rail works most nights & weekends creating huge disturbance.

A second route would allow that to be used while upgrades could crack on.

Selling it (for me) as "30 minutes quicker to Euston from Chester" meant nothing. It's only 2 hours now, when Mick Lynch allows it*.

I can lose that looking for a parking spot.

The costs were never controlled & only today we're hearing that the HS2 builders were constantly hiding overspends. It began as £30bn, moved to £60bn, now £139bn & a realistic current estimate was £180bn & counting. Shocking & unsupportable. That could be far better spent upgrading local links & seeing tangible results quickly. Obviously cancelling it allows various City Mayors to showboat their anger.

*of Lynch & Co. Why would any sane Govt. spend another penny on the railways just to be held hostage by that lot ?

HS1 was built without controversy so can only assume it was built largely to predicted budget and time frame.

Probably due to governments of the time. Major and Blair.

It these cunts in charge, again.

  3. I think 2020 was very poorly handled by the Govt including the critical start. Had a couple of weeks buffer too when it was clear Italy was fucked.

2021 was far better when they started listening to scientists.

Been following things in New Zealand. They were praised by many for their approach to COVID restrictions. The government has recently been ousted. A Labour government, unfairly by my reckoning. We may have a NZ poster who could enlighten us.

Acknowledging the natural disasters, terrorist attack and pandemic that marred his government’s term, Hipkins said: “I honestly think that the Gods rounded up curveballs to throw at us.”

I dont live there anymore but still follow NZ politics. Light years ahead of the UK btw.

Ardern locked down Auckland far too long,  where about 40% of the population live.  It dominates NZ so much that pretty much everyone was affected.

Also Labour engineered a housing boom during Covid which they're now paying for.

Not surprised. His bullshit and lies cost Fox the best part of a $Billion in out of court settlements...

    That's not totally accurate though?

Fox News staff were caught peddling his lies, knew they were lies and still did it. Thus rendering the defence "only reporting what the president said" void.

Bang to rights by their messages between Fox staff.

Wonder why Sunak and Johnson have refused to hand their phones (messages) over.

  6. For the Munich UEFA game I flew to Stuttgart, as you do. Anyway found some obscure offer that onward train travel was subsidised. Train from Stuttgart to Munich was about 20 euros return.

Flight was full of Everton fans en route to Nuremberg.

(off topic, I'm well glad Football Cliches has started up again too)

Aye hadn't realised I'd missed it so much.

That Scottish boy saying "the boy Potter" 🤣

Did he get any games under Capello for England? I remember him creeping up the cap count with sub appearances but not who was in charge. There was no mention of the end of his international career either.

I was same with the MLS thought it was more along the lines of what it is today. I used to watch highlights of it in 90s on NFL pitches in massive stadiums with JD Sports goal netting and daft kits, didn't realise how much that was still dragging on by the time he joined. Looked like he'd seen a ghost sitting on that bench at first 😂

He came on in a friendly against Spain about 2009, pretty sure Capello was manager. This was peak Spain and they absolutely outclassed us, 2-0 massively flattered us.

The only bit of England quality the whole game was from Beckham, through ball for Carlton Cole, who missed.

Struggling to shift weight doing all that? Blimey. Have you just plateaued? You must have if you're doing those sort of times on those sort of courses?

I'm doing sober october as a kick start to getting back to running as my knee seems now to be holding up, 9 days in and the gym everyday and I've shifted half a bloody stone! Fucking starving though.

Had two periods of my life doing regular running, put on weight during both of them.

Unfortunately probably seen the 3 they won . Think they beat us twice one season one in fa cup

Went to the league game, Ray Walker got the winner at about 5pm after we'd been much the better team. JT missed loads of chances.

    Took that defeat very badly.
