We’ve dropped points because of poor defending rather than missed chances. Pressure is always on to score goals when you are conceding. We’ve missed chances but we’ve also scored plenty, problem is that we’ve conceded as well.

Can’t believe that you think this is down to the players. Surely all the players are instructed on what they should be doing for corners, both for us and against us. It should be drilled into them and this is an area where we are really deficient and leaking poor goals. As you said, basics.

Do you think that we've improved in the last two years? It was more than two years ago that we beat Sunderland 6-0 and I don't think that we're as good a team as we were at the back end of that season, never mind last season. Defensively, we're worse than ever, shipping poor goals to average teams and rarely grinding out 1-0 wins as Derby and Pompey have done on a consistent basis. Yes, we play some fantastic football at times but, imo. we've not improved, showing the same weaknesses again and again.
