  1. A couple of their age groups have merged for the season
  2. Was once having a bit of banter with one of Walkden’s batsman. He said, ‘If you don’t shut up I will go and get my gun from the car and shoot you in the head.’ He got even more annoyed when I told him I’d seen him cycling onto the ground before we started.
  3. Having a tail Luis Reece couldn’t trust was Westhoughtons only problem on Saturday. Nowt to do with bad umpires.
  4. Surely Lytham weren’t 11-0
  5. Did every LH player stay for a beer after the game?
  6. Yes a full time job plus a pro gig. He wouldn’t of been able to do any other work while at Lancs other than a bit of coaching at clubs as a guest.
  7. I think he has a full time job and he will get between 12-15 grand depending on how much ‘coaching’ he does
  8. Brown will be on a decent wedge at Accy. He will score shit loads aswel.
  9. He did half a season for us. Can’t believe clubs don’t ask previous clubs their thoughts on pros. You’d ask for references in other employment.
  10. Hope Faisal has a good season, he’s a decent bloke. Don’t expect much from him though. More selfies than runs.
  11. Farnworth favourites. Horwich and Social could go down.
  12. Tried to back him to be the division leading run scorer yesterday with Sky’s requestabet. They’ve still not given me a price. He’s got a point to prove, playing a division down and won’t get an ashes call up regardless of how many he scores. I hope he scores a boatload. Nice lad and his ability and dedication will come through.
  13. Who’s your U14s team Mounts?

Are Bradshaw still going to GMCL? Have they resigned from the BCL this time or does the refused resignation still stand?

    13 years

Remember seeing him at Newcastle. Must’ve taken him ages to get up all them steps with his dodgy hip. Great bloke, loved BWFC

We’re playing 18s with our U15/14s kids. One age group isn’t enough for most of them. Some will play senior cricket but that’s not right for all of them.

Agree with most of that, but allowing teams to merge offers cricket to kids that wouldn’t normally get it. Kearsley and Farnworth have merged the u13s and U11s. This isn’t to win more games or because both clubs are lazy. Both clubs could fill an u13s side but both would be asking kids to make the numbers up and asking a kid that’s not upto it has all sorts of issues. Both clubs are playing U15s and u18s and Kearsley u9s. That’s a lot of cricket to get in, the number of kids that play means quite a bit of cross age group which some can deal with but some could get hurt. I notice Bradshaw and Horwich aren’t competing at u18s.

Very sad mate. Its hard work these days. Its going to be very hard for them to get back if they’re not offering kids the opportunity to play though. Feel for them.

They’ve not entered a team into any age group.
  20. Moaning old cunt 2 rows behind and lad about 18 that thinks he’s a comedian in ESL. Used to shout Wilson in a Tom Hanks Castaway style every time Lawrie Wilson was in earshot. Wilson actually used to smile and think ffs not again. He’s never shouted it to Mark Wilson yet.

Times are changing. There’s more activities than ever before for cricket clubs to compete against. Summer football being a big one for us. Think how many miles are between Clifton, Kearsley, Farnworth, Farnworth Social Circle and Walkden and how many schools play cricket in that area. Last year we had a good group of under 7s and 8 year olds and they have football training on a Monday night all summer. Can’t compete with football, it’s that simple.

Exactly. So if two clubs have 6/7 players then merging gets 13/14 kids a game every week and clubs don’t lose them kids in the long run.

    Are Bradshaw having 2nd thoughts?
