Masterclass from our midfield and defence; seeing a side top of the league dig in for a point with long hoofs and shithousing to the level of Burton, Morecambe and the like, is probably the biggest respect they could pay us. Going forward we've battered them, just that same old story of not being *quite* there in front of goal. I have no doubt we'll be in the playoffs. But, if there's another striker to come in with Nlundulu, to make us actually have attacking options off the bench - on that showing, there's no reason we can't begin to reel in the current top 3.

Ha, great find! One steward rather than a chain; I've clearly underestimated how far the fluorescent wombles can actually move.

Does make you wonder what's happened behind the scenes, as I'd agree and I'm sure Evatt would normally - unless there's been a strop of Sarcevic proportions?

Written 3 weeks before Russia invaded Ukraine and inflation began its journey towards the ridiculous.

At first glance, it looks like you're almost onto something. However, this article was written in 2018, well before external factors such as Covid and rampant inflation were even able to be considered. Either one alone blows the Tories' apparent generosity out of the water; combine both and we see why the Chair of the British Medical Association is saying: "The future of the NHS is on a knife edge. It is solely within the Government’s gift to pull it back from the brink. Without intervention, waiting lists will continue to grow and patients will continue to suffer.” As an aside, one thing you chose not to highlight from this article: "There is no guaranteed extra money to pay for this increased NHS funding from stopping our payments to the EU budget. Other costs associated with Brexit are expected to outweigh the savings."

I'd never dispute that there could be benefits to leaving a common market with our largest trade partners. I'm neither an economist nor a clairvoyant but I don't see why that isn't a possibility over enough time - the Infinite Monkey Theorem comes to mind. It's not quite the sell we were fed by Banks and Farage in 2016 though. I'd still love to know where that £350m a week is being reinvested.

In lieu of any responsibility whatsoever taken by staunch Leavers, or any evidence in the 6 1/2 years since the referendum to back up your positivity, I still somewhat admire your optimism. Maybe old Blighty WILL bounce back and we'll have the last laugh. Maybe.

😁 Disappointingly, I couldn't provide a detailed evaluation from my position in the gods. Fair handful.

Doubt anyone would want him permanently. But, I mean Bradford took Delfouneso on loan this time last year, so there's always someone desperate. 50/50 wage split, you never know.

Cracking day in the end. I was one of the 300 last-minuters, and it proved to be a great decision. Very professional performance, even if we got a couple of gifts. Fair play to both Bod and Charles for forcing those gifts though; haven't seen our attackers press with such success in quite a while. Oh and that third was a beauty to watch, willed on by 3000 shouts of "Ole!" accompanying every pass. Congratulations to the lad on the front row, for getting a phone number off a bird in the Barnsley end, delivered by a chain of stewards during the first half. Impressive technique.

I made that mistake last year. I thought, with Lincoln being a spit from the Fens, that it would be a tongue in cheek name. Bit like "Brightside" in the creaking post-industrial heartland straddling Sheffield and Rotherham, or "Belle Vue' overlooking a council estate in Manchester. Not so. Anyway, I enjoyed my visit last year, a nice win, noisy away end, even a bit of quick-walk-dont-look-back, mazing our way out of the stadium. Hopefully it's a fruitful visit for the lads and lasses down there tonight. 2-1 to the Whites, after conceding first. Dapo brace.

Better game than the scoreline implied, but Charles has to be finishing that ffs. Thought we were the better side, but a draw probably about right. Toal has been a great addition - all three CBs come out with a lot of credit tbh.

(Dubious) foul or not on Trafford, that was Crellinesque. Fucks sake, no idea how we've lost this. *edit, just seen replay. Definite foul. Joke.

Going off the defensive contribution of Shrewsbury's number 26 for our goal, my professional career isn't completely dead yet. Just watched Jones stroll beyond him!

Knives away for now, chaps. Get in.

On the flip side, there's something something very right in the team mentality to keep fighting back right until the last whistle.

Mostly under par against a shithouse side. Recurring theme really, but, we're still picking up points when previous Bolton sides would cave. I'd love to see the offside call again though, looked fine to me? Kachunga is surely finished, clearly Evatt has his hands tied by Sharon (i.e. try to make your high earning player a goal machine or a saleable asset), as he really doesn't add anything. Thought Toal stepped into the Santos role fairly well. Definitely a positive addition to the team.

Best I've got is Kasper Schmeichel for Leicester. And Kieffer Moore played against us at Oakwell. Nowhere near as niche as that Australian moustached whopper for Hull, great shout.

The nationality rules have been silly for ages, I'm thinking of Ireland's World Cup squad of Englishmen with grandmothers in Cork. I don't blame Cash at all. I do wonder, if his Polish grandfather was on his dad's side (and therefore a born and raised English lad with a surname like Kaczszynski rather than Cash), if it would 'come across' differently. I ponder this as my surname is definitely NOT English, but I'm Bolton through and through... and I'd definitely be eligible to play for Ukraine. If I was good enough, I'd pick England and enjoy hearing journalists struggle with the six-consonant start to my surname. If, like Matty Cash, there were many better English players ahead of me, I'd have no problem picking my second option as I do have a strong affinity with both nations... I would just have to brush up on the language a bit more!

British tennis champion Emma Raducanu was born in Toronto, to a Chinese mother and Romanian father. People love shagging, and nationalities are nothing more than a construct. 🤷♂️ Fuck it, let Matty play for whichever spot of land his grandad dropped onto.

Got a lot of time for Burton's result tonight. Dixon - sorry pal, I have tried to be forgiving, but that was shit. A January problem for IE to sort. Salford away, for me. All over that.
-
Dodgy box for me, shit fan tonight. Please just no howlers from Dixon. Please. Fancy Charles to finally bag after being woeful recently. 2-0.

It's a good job Phil Brown's Indian club, Pune, have gone out of business. With 7.5m people living in the city, their football team would beat our lot by triple figures.

Ah bollocks, you're right. I was recalling four at the back and forgot that 433 was an actual thing 🙃
