That word "proud" popping up a few times on here, and I agree a lot. Gerrard panicking for his job with a full strength side and for 55/60, you couldn't tell the two league difference. Fucking proud. Dixon. First half he was an excellent sweeper keeper, which evatt wants. And some brave saves second half. But... Goal 1, ok, it's a 1 in 10,000 effort he may not be expecting. 2, Shocking ref decision for the pen, it's offside by a long way. 3 was embarrassing. For me, he's an OK L1 understudy but not for where Evatt wants to take us. Lee for our goal though... oh I liked that tenacity. Wish he had the legs to match.

Ye of little faith. I think (heart over head?) that it will be a lot closer than that!

Rotated squad against a defensive Morecambe side under that shithouse Adams... I did have my worries at kickoff. Thought we played really well, totally controlled the game for 85 minutes. Shame we hadn't put the game to bed before their little spell of set plays at the end, but we were never in any real trouble. Aimson was excellent stepping in bar one suicide ball, I thought Morley stood out too. Bod a bit flat, but I'm picking holes. Good win, roll on Saturday. I'll just leave you with this little belter from Adams. “I think the way we passed the ball and retained possession – and the chances we had in the game – we were unfortunate not to come away with a draw and maybe even a win. 33% possession = retained? 🤣 tosser

Looks like neither... announcement that fans will get a vote on next season's kits. Probably will get its own thread soon, great idea in principle.
-
I was thinking this. Granted we were a man down and sitting tight on Saturday, and granted Salford are League 2, but I have no concerns with Aimson dropping into our usual system for tomorrow. I quite rate him. Watch him OG now I've said that 🤷♂️

Oh, see I loved it. It is what is, unless you can train a bird to fly round an auditorium there's going to be a hell of a lot of suspended disbelief. But I thought it was great.
-
I do get what you mean, even if I actually quite like the cut of his jib. I can imagine him being an absolute bastard to work under, but I'd definitely take him for a pint. Perhaps just put it down to Coventrians being quite abrasive, difficult people. Believe me, I'm married to one 🙃

I saw a 3-piece perform Kes at the Octagon earlier in the year. Magnificent.
-
Surely Evatt will be setting up to keep the ball and let Vale press?
-
Very happy with that, proper no-lose situation. Selfishly, I hope we're not on sky, would love some bums on seats for this. As an aside, that cracking football last night saw us put on during the last group of games on the ITV highlights. Fuck 'em, the longer we stay under the radar, the better.

Made some very nice touches in his little cameo. Looks an absolute fridge, would love to see more of him. Really, really positive all round that, after a pretty slow start. John was not having a good game at all, deservedly hooked. Iredale was far more on the pace. John aside, really good performance all round; even Aimson was pinging lovely crossfield balls. The strength in depth we have now really is frightening, imagine having to face Dapo and Bradley after you've just been blown away for 80 minutes. Not seen a replay but Thomassons red looked ridiculous on first view, I'm sure he got the ball first.

I'm absolutely buzzing with yesterday. Sunshine, great atmosphere and a demolition job on last year's playoff finalists, bliss. I just cannot believe we got Morley for a set of training cones. Was it £90k or something? We've absolutely bent Rochdale over there; he's just getting better and better. BTEC Pirlo? Delighted, let's stomp Ratboy's lot on Tuesday and really get the season going infront of a noisy away end in Burslem.

I'm guessing ESL didn't hear the late announcement asking for a lost 7 year old lad (based in the ESL) to speak to a steward? Ouch. Unless there is a separate emergency system(?), that issue reaaaally needs resolving, pronto.

Absolutely delighted with a point, Ipswich were all over us that second half. So many misplaced passes from us; I hope that's rectified quickly! Well done to the 1300 or so Whites there, plenty of noise coming through the tellybox.
-
Two teams on holiday. BUT, I don't say that negatively, that second half especially was, (goal aside - offside?) fairly decent. And Portsmouth really do look a threat. Early candidate for automatic contenders alongside us next year? I don't know, but they looked very well drilled for a side midtable. Either way, signings aside, can't help but feel this team will be knocking on the door in 12 months time.

I went in with the yokels today. Mate's a Wigan fan (they DO exist), figured it would be a different experience. Suffice to say, as a fanbase, I still can't stand them. Not our best performance today, especially in the middle, but I'd have taken a point beforehand. And a late equaliser is always sweet, even if I had difficulty containing my joy 🙂 McLean, as much of a prick as he is, got a harsh yellow first time round, for me. Bit of evening up with the definite yellow before HT? Either way, fuck him. No-mark plodder who will get found out in the championship. Far from Aimson's best game, odd tactics getting our technically most limited player playing long balls. But hey, trust the system. By far the better side second half, as Wigan were blowing, as we're seeing so often. Lovely header from JDB. Well done to the 4k, suitably noisy, especially in the latter stages. 👏 Did us proud again.

I know it's "only Crewe", and whatever the twitter brigade will be saying, but that was a belting end to a terrible performance. Cracking day out in all, with plenty of wanderers taking over town. One of you mentioned the market hall for ale, great shout. Trains back were guff though, cancellations everywhere. Wigan train cancelled, so it was pile onto Manchester. A broken down train at Salford Crescent sent everything coming out of Manchester North West-way to rat shit. Taxi home it was then, kerching. Even though I'm not one for going on the pitch unless it's promotion stuff, just bottle that last minute winning feeling and sell it... magic stuff.

Behave 😆 ----- As an aside, Sadlier looks a proper player in behind the strikers. Would definitely start him there next game over Dapo, who hasn't looked right for weeks now. Shame that the season is over now, but in truth, I'm looking forward to us being a real force in the division next season. Coyw.

Yes. Niggly shite like that must tell Evatt he's doing something right. Even when we were way, way below par.
-
I'd forgive it if we were still being served up gutless tosh under some of our previous managers, where you knew that being 1 down at 85mins was game over. Under Evatt, does it not feel... different? Even though that was one of our worst home performances of the season, I still believed there was one more chance. We have scored too many late goals this season for it to just be a fluke. For me, the elation of every now and again nicking a point or three in injury time outweighs having to sit on Middlebrook a bit longer. Each to their own, mind. **that said, I left Stockport away as the fifth went in. Ergh.

What a tinpot shower Morecambe are, from Adams to their players, from their fans to their shithouse physio. Hopefully that equaliser will help send them down. Their gameplan, after we'd been threatening a cricket score for the first 25, was pure shithousing and it (almost) worked. I hope Evatt gets his players smarter to this next season; without meaning to sound like a delusional Mackem, we really are a big day out for so many players/clubs in this division. I still can't believe Santos didn't concede a penalty with that ridiculous challenge. Ref evening up the scores after their 22(?) was lucky to stay on the pitch? Oh, and while it wasn't *exactly* the scenario I'd played out in my head countless times as a kid, standing on the BWFC pitch to rapturous applause before kickoff was... emotional. Thank you.

Hi all, I'm a ST holder for ages and a longtime lurker on the match day threads. I've been directed to this thread by one of the regulars on here, as I'm involved in the donation coordination effort at the Bolton Ukrainian club (99 Castle Street, BL2 1JA). First Putin gets the Swiss off the fence, then he gets me posting on WW, crikey. In short, we've been absolutely inundated already, and its so, so welcome. So thank you all. As we're having to prioritise items based on our current logistics capacity, please can I ask, if you're coming to donate tonight (even before 7-9, as people have been doing all day), to focus your donations on the following: Nappies Sanitary towels/pads/tampons (going off this thread, any flow type welcome...!) Toiletries, eg Toothpaste/brushes, soap, etc First aid kits Children's thermal clothes (we have a LOT of adult clothes already, and they're much lower priority at the border right now) Small children's toys In reality, anything you can help with is fantastic; they're just the items the border support are crying out for. And sadly, it looks like this crisis isn't going away any time soon. So if you aren't able to come today, we'll be running more operations in the future. Thank you.

Absolutely massive pal 🙄

Honestly, it's not a case of me saying 'all leave voters are thick'. I haven't got a problem with valid or coherent arguments from the leave side - you've just made a very fair point, for example. Miami, however, comes across as nothing more than a crowing little-England simpleton, and I'll continue to find it amusing when he posts shite like he's just done. Blindly reading a headline and suggesting it must reaffirm your preconceived opinion without reading further is quite silly. It's not just because he's a Leaver.
