  1. Unfortunately, I don't think Graham is going to make it. The game passed him by completely when he came on; almost a wasted sub. Darcy, however, was excellent today. He was finding space where there was none, and proving a real nuisance linking turnovers into attack. I really hope he kicks on (but not enough that the richer clubs notice and fancy him in their reserves for the next four years). Earl looked a man possessed in his natural position. Definitely a decent partnership with Wright in the making there, assuming Hill will let Chicksen back in the side. I don't often cob up about refs, but he had a stinker. Not often we're roughed up at home, but Shrewsbury had a good go, and the ref helped them. So many niggly knobhead fouls from them that he waved on. Daryl Murphy wouldn't have won a foul if their oaf number 5 had punched him square in the face. Finally, credit to the WUM ball boy in the south east corner, class bit of juvenile shithousery! Decent game, good performance, happy with the point (thank you Remi Matthews). Looking forward to Burton! ***Edit Just seen this on the Shrewsbury forum for a laugh. What a plank. 😂 "Their keeper was dreadful. Good double save? He didn't know anything about them. They hit him as he made a feeble attempt to swat them away."
  2. Countering Parkyball with 5ft 9 Liam Bridcutt. I really hope Hill knows what he's doing here...
  3. Ha, yes, you're right I suppose. After a wall of silence from the previous owners, he did seem like a breath of fresh air. Whoops. Maybe it all went wrong because we just weren't loud or proud enough?
  4. I've probably said it on here before but I really, really like the new owners. No bullshit, no impossible promises, just consistent tactful, feel-good, community-focused engagement with the fans. Plus, I'd gladly disappoint Ms Beaugeard all night long - what's not to like?
  5. I kind of get the Bridcutt at centre half thing, because it's good to have a ball playing defender rather than the aimless hoofs we've been treated to for so long. However, as he's tiny, anything over the top is going to cause issues, especially when his CB partner isn't, as Casino sad, a heading machine. But I'm not fussed, its a very welcome three points. We don't have to write the season off JUST yet.

  7. Puzzles me that the talk of points deductions for the Brentford strike aren't being taken off our tally in, you know, the season it happened. As for the sour ewe-botherers at Doncaster, they can fucking do one, if (as has been repeatedly pointed out) we have adhered to the league's own ruling on youth player welfare. I still expect a good minus 10 if we're still in danger of staying up come March.
  8. Agreed with that. Even if he only lasts 60, the threat Verlinden provides going forward will be vital to hopefully put us in front and keep the moaners onside. Can't imagine it will be a pleasant atmosphere if we're chasing a win (or perish the thought, a point) with 10 minutes to go. 1-0 off O'Grady's knee in the ugliest game known to man - I'd take it now.

    Bury

I've been stood in away ends with Bury supporting mates in the soaking rain at dumps like Accrington and Tranmere, back in the heady days when we saw them as a minor irrelevance while we were tonking sides like Arsenal, Newcastle and Spurs with relative ease. Yes, the 'only hate Bolton Wanderers' songs came out, and yes, I thought the small time bastards could fuck themselves. But then, after us coming so close to following them down the pan, and seeing the complete lack of direction they have now (as pointed out, we'd almost certainly be in the same boat) - I can forgive them. Granted, I wasn't around in the dark Division 4 days, and wasn't part of the Parkhills scraps many of you will have been, but I see them more like a friendly, mildly irritating but ultimately alright little brother. Perhaps it's only because we looked a similar fate in the face a few months back, but I really do feel sorry for them.
  10. You must be mad, but I tip my hat to you and the other hardy souls/mad fuckers there tonight! Sad but interesting shout on Weir. I'm really excited for the 3pm-at-Yates's Bolton News comments section knobs to spout on about him not playing when we next get humped... crap Wanderers players really are at their best when they aren't picked for games, in supporters' eyes at least.
  11. Great link, thanks. I love their classifications. *The earth spits tornados of fire, gigantic plumes of ash and smoke fill the air, the gates of Hell open* "yeah, that's a moderate" 😂
  12. Daft question. As interesting as it looks, is there any kind of warning system blocking people from going? That is, we're you given any kind of forecast before being allowed on? Someone will inevitably be culpable with this, surely - just wondering how hard the tour organisers will have the book thrown at them...?
  13. From one of the Sunderland forums following their loss at Gillingham today (8 defeats in 12, apparently). Ouch: "His style of football is like watching a five year old play Fifa for the first time. It’s direct in the sense the ball goes forward but it’s completely aimless. It’s the worst football I’ve ever seen at a professional level. He’s absolutely at fault for just how bad things have got. Ross was failing. Parkinson has just given failing a whole new definition."
  14. This. 'One for the purists' I think, but I'll snap your hand off for any scrappy winner off Zouma's arse.
  15. I've gone all giddy at the thought of that. There would be riots on the streets of Doncaster, causing literally pounds' worth of damage.
  16. Dunno about anyone else, but I am really enjoying the bitterness from other fans, especially those slackjaws in South Yorkshire. "f**k them. Go over the heads of the EFL. Get UEFA involved. International Arbitration of Sport. Legal action. Every other format of football down to kids football it is common acceptance that if you don't turn up, the opposition gets 3 points. The football league have let a team dictate what they do, which is not on. The clear and obvious point Rovers need to make is that we WILL NOT play this game under any circumstances. They can throw fines at us, we have more money than Bolton. Morality first, money later." I'm rolling 😂
  17. Amazing news. There are going to be some right bitter bastards in League One this evening. We march on... COYFWM
  18. That's a really interesting one. Before Bridcutt's injury, I thought they worked well, Liam the bridge between defence and midfield, with Lowe free to go forward. Now, with Murphy looking like a footballer again, maybe the balance is off with all three. For me, Bridcutt and Lowe are our two best players, and we have to play them together whenever available. -- We were poor today, with very little tooth before Verlinden came on. Far too many ineffective floated crosses throughout, easy for their defence. Don't give a toss though, we're on a roll! Also, I didn't know MK had any fans, let alone those sad twats there today. I admit, after their antics after the penalty, I couldn't help but give it the biggun after Daryl made amends 🙃 Up the bastard whites!

  20. Typical. Couldn't make today and we get a home win! Delighted, loving that we're building up some good momentum ahead of a run of winnable fixtures. I'm impressed that O Grady is getting so many plaudits, I honestly thought he was going to be finished. That feeling when we lose the minus sign is going to be amazing. Keep it up lads.
  21. What a response to Saturday. I had written this off as another brave defeat, but to FINALLY experience a win again... Wow! I can't wait for Lincoln. COYFWM
  22. Not sure what caused it, but there was a bit of handbags between a couple of blokes. I think one was a Rochdale fan, not certain though. Minor slap here and there, and plod/stewards went into overdrive.
  23. Bridcutt's absence really showed today - the midfield was absent as soon as Lowe got a yellow. The less said about Zouma's last half hour, the better. Dodoo's assist was excellent, he looked like a genuine outlet. Deserves a start IMO.
  24. I wish him well (although I'd happily see Sunderland stay down again). Kindly stuff the likes of Wimbledon, Southend and Tranmere for us, Phil. Are the Netflix cameras still at Sunderland? Can only imagine the difficulty they'll have in making engaging viewing using Parky's inspirational soundbites...
  25. £7 still. Really excited for this, I think after playing Rochdale God knows how many times recently, Keef will have it sorted. An optimistic 2-0.
