  1. I had a free Saturday and credit in the bank from the missus, so I booked a Holiday Inn and drove down on a whim. Whoops... COYW 😬
  2. Lovely goal. Well done to anyone who's gone tonight, this is much better to watch in a warm pub!
  3. Seems we watched different games, fair enough. Vic's only job all night was to battle their centre half for long balls, and he brought down far more than he didn't. The failing was his complete isolation. Nobody ever within a centre circle's area near him - where were our super awesome amazing wide forwards to support? Completely anonymous (McAtee improved, granted), but their names scan nicely with a couple of songs, so it's reyt. Collins did fuck all for 90 minutes v Blackpool - his goal was as pure a crack-paperer as you'll see. Adeboyejo isn't perfect, far from it. Should we have sold up? Probably. But I'm tired of him being the scapegoat when there are many more players in that squad who need to look at themselves.
  4. Vic getting pelters for a solid target man performance (OK, that miss was laughable), while the yet again anonymous Collins is yet again forgiven. I liked the inverted WBs. I liked Tutu's performance even more. As someone said above, that was a win from nowhere that Derby would have managed last year, and we'd have looked on enviously. I liked that the most about tonight. 2 CMs doesn't work, we all know that, and I'm sure with hindsight, Morley wouldn't have been shipped off as we're desperately light with a formation that doesn't work. Sonny should be eased into the side, as he was - not just thrown in to make up a formation. I'll happy clap away. In the end, I enjoyed tonight. And we're still well in contention.
  5. What a lovely ball from Sharples. Been a tough watch since I got on at 60 though.
  6. On the other hand, that was far from Stockport's first choice XI. As my County mate told me with barely concealed glee, the massive cunt. I don't think we can blame injury or illness for such a collapse - isn't that the point of having a squad? Especially with a whole week off vs an opponent who have just been slapped on the same pitch 4 days before, (against a side led by a CM deemed surplus to our own squad)...
  7. Bottle jobs yet again in a 'derby' game. It's not even surprising any more - the only surprise is the depths we still plumb when using the word 'derby' as any sort of justification. Stockport were pub league and didn't need to be anything more. Results like today are beyond anything like tactical issues; you suffer a close loss away from home and you take your medicine, fine. But the collective downing of tools at 2-0 was about as disgusting a reaction I've seen at this club. The Stockport fans I met up with after the game couldn't believe their luck. Neither could my half-Wanderers-half-County dad, who took pity on me and didn't even pretend to celebrate the fourth. Like many in the Railway End, we left for a pub not long after. I've been Evatt's biggest fan - I appreciate the culture, the mentality, the football he has played here in bringing us back from death's door - it has been a proper joy and a great ride to be on. But surely there's no coming back from a mental capitulation like that. With a heavy heart: Evatt Out.
  8. Unfortunately, in contemporary politics, class, humilty and decency doesn't compare with a baying mob of virgins in red hats sat on "X" all night. What an utterly predictable shit show today was. Fuck it. Roll on Stockport... or something.
  9. Not often you and I agree! I think he's class, and have since my Cov supporting mates made me aware of him ages back. They're tossing themselves blind over the sell-on fee they're supposed to get from Lisbon if (when) he moves on. I hope, for their sake, it's more than we got from Chelsea for Gary Cahill (!) 😁
  10. Quite. In 😇
  11. With a lob like that... clear that Jhon Duran's been watching George Thomason 🙃
  12. Just back. Wonderful performance to a man - shame about the last 5 minutes. Hopefully a little wake up call. Also, perhaps a bit lucky with the yellows for GT and Schon, but it's reet. We outclassed Northampton all over the pitch. Minor point, I'm still a bit annoyed with Charles shooting from a daft angle when he could have squared to make it 5. But I mean... if that's the only grumble, we're onto something good. And I suppose it's showing a man in confidence! Looking forward to Shrewsbury 😀 -- Edit... what the FUCK is Northampton's "Oh Christmas Tree" tune all about? Been in my bastard head all the way home. It's October.
  13. Oh, I do enjoy seeing unhappy Real players 😅
  14. I honestly don't think Wrexham will come close to automatics over the full season. I'm more concerned about Charlton and Stockport, personally. --- Anyway, cracking result against a side that looked quite impressive on the ball and were very, erm, snappy off it. The kind of game we'd have struggled to take 3 points from last year. Solid at the back, a constant threat going forward - and with fuck-all possession. Plan 2.0, nice.
  15. Shit that McAtee lad... Lovely ball.
  16. It's like you took every word out of my mind! Agree with every word, I can't add anything. - I properly enjoyed this afternoon. More please!
  17. Looking forward to seeing if the captaincy change makes a difference. Hopefully reduced responsibility will let Santos get back to himself, confidence wise. 3 in the middle should help us too...
  18. Ill Swear It Again, hopefully with these backroom changes, we will really see What Makes A Man, and Against All Odds, this will become a Season In The Sun. https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/westlifes-top-20-biggest-songs-on-the-official-charts__25303/
  19. Ok, it's "only" Barrow in the tinpot trophy. But there's something to be said for them coming back like that in the 2nd half, in horrible conditions, when there's already huge (deserved) pressure from the fanbase. Cracks papered for now. Hopefully there's a great big bucket of Polyfilla arriving at Lostock over the international break.
  20. Toot toot, HMS Piss the League is getting ready to sail.
  21. Absolutely rank that... has this been mentioned to the other 86 League clubs anywhere previously or is this just *yet another* chasm-widening measure that has been slipped in, under the radar, without consultation? ---- Oh, and also, Dempsey to start as one of the "front 3", for me. Nice to have the ability to transition back to a more dense midfield when defending.
  22. Incredible. Safe trip home to the hardy souls forking out for that shit.
  23. Never a booking for Matete!! One of those days, ffs.
  24. That's where I'm at. I don't see GT being dropped, or deserving of it. Thomason was excellent (particularly first half) Sunday. Sheehan struggled to find his man and seems unwilling to beat a man or make a tackle. Particularly in the slugger away games, I can see Matete and Thomason being our two CMs. As an aside, it might have been said, but I don't think all 3 of McAtee, Charles and Collins can start. Where's the impetus in the last 25 if none of those come on? Arfield isn't that man, and as much as I love him, neither is Dempsey. Wouldn't mind either or both of them starting behind a ratter like Charles or McAtee though... gives options in the late stages.
