Collins+Bod at home are a class act, their link up play & natural ability shines massively with a good playing surface. Where as Dion+Vic in prior home games looked lost, fighting with the ball every time it came up to them & devoid of any serious threat. Then again in an away game on shit pitches I'd much rather have a Vic/Dion chasing lost causes, pressing, doing the dogged work asking questions as neither Bod/Collins have really shown anything in an away game not necessarily their fault it's the lack of confidence & safety first approach on the ball in building up. I felt for Vic when he got injured as he came into some good form, looked sharp & lead the line brilliantly away at Barnsley with Collins. They all have their strengths/weaknesses just a shame we haven't got the options as it's a lot of fire power for the level with plenty of goals in them 4.

Expected Barnsley to be better than what they where tonight, thought they looked miles better at our place few week ago as Baxter was MOTM in that where as this match Coleman hardly had to make a save. Second half we played with intent, ferocity, drive…. Victor & Collins looked really fucking dangerous when we managed to provide any decent balls into them. Evatt has built a foundation, philosophy & has (along with everybody involved in the club) made us attractive again after having our reputation tarnished to near unrepairable measures so he'll have my backing for a good while. That being said it's not unfair to question some of his methods when they repeatedly get exposed when any sort of pressures on... read something along the lines that Evatt has just over a 20% win percentage against top 8 sides then add in the local derbies what get built up whether it's Tranmere/Stockport/Wigan ect then it looks doomed. Evatt always says how football is "reactionary & emotional" which is 100% true which is why he shouldn't take everything he sees to heart, every football manager is under pressure I mean I feel sorry for the poor bastards who get rolled out at Sunderland season on season every single one is usually on a highway to nothing.

I'll guess a nervy 1-0 win with Victor scrapping a tap in home from a cross. They've lost their last two games 1-0 under the caretaker, no doubt they'll try copy Wigan's shape which will frustrate the sh*t out of us whilst we're lacking confidence/tempo/creativity resorting to safety first options rather than being brave on the ball. Fair enough Evatt has a philosophy but he does not learn at all from our mistakes does he? We must see these rinse & repeat outcomes 7/8 times a season at least. It was literally the most predictable outcome you'll ever see... The same old naivety of doing all the work on the ball, going nowhere, wasting time for the opposition by overplaying, waiting too long to make subs, playing into the hands of oppo manager who know we're so weak mentally that one chance will win them a game they shouldn't even be in.

Gutted for CMG, body wasn’t set to receive the pass & tried recovering it to his detriment the shite pitch probs played a big factor. Got in some good positions but Ogbeta, Cogley, Paris stalling when a decent final ball is required. Paris is walking a tight rope so Dempsey makes sense and also think he could find some dangerous positions for them cut backs he always tries. Ref needs investigating. IE needs to address how leaky we are whilst players are missing & adapt to the players he has availabe. The amount of goals & chances being shipped out the past few weeks is suicidal

Frustrating as fuck, we started brightly & looked dangerous going forward creating a lot of chance's to go in behind. The refs evidently swinging the tie with letting the game run when we get took out but allowing them free kick after free kick no consistency what so ever throughout the course of the half. Saying that, our players have a huge problem in conceding cheap goals out of nothing due to being too busy crying about the decision rather than switching on & defending the quick free kicks. Like our defending last week when Cogley goes down & we allow Charlton a nothing goal to go back in front. Main positive is CMG, he looks dangerous every time he gets on the ball obviously should have scored but so should have JDB.

Bonne & Taylor putting in shithouse tackles/off the ball elbows because they can't do f all on the pitch these days. Two strikers who can't hack the fact that they're absolute shite journeymen & not even small scale L1 teams want them for more than a few months after being somewhat assets a few years ago. Even though we hardly seen the lad much, Taylor be a big miss purely for his size/aerial prowess for the scenarios we're we'll be under the cosh having balls put into our box at will trying to grind results. Absolutely paramount that Santos/Forrester don't get any setbacks when returning now because Iredale/Toal/Geth trio looks very leaky to say the least

Vic, Dempsey, Ashworth are playing with purpose and attitude, same can’t be said for the others. Gethin seems to be winning his duels too but the others are either too lethargic or just invisible. Even without key players based on that first half, Charlton are there for the taking but we just shoot ourselves in the foot
