Trouble is who do you change they’re all terrible?

Why can’t we put set pieces in like that?

Crazy but why do we do a lot of things. On a plate that was.

Fair play to Shrewsbury though they’ve been far better than us and unlike us look right up for it. How have they scored so few goals this season we’re lucky we’re only one behind. We shouldn’t panic but just accept we can’t walk through them and start putting in some shots from distance.

This is just us unfortunately, casual, awful passing and woeful defending. Need to wake up here.

How many chances did Ogbeta have to pass that ball before being robbed. We just try to walk it in all the time instead of shooting. We’ll still win this but we do make things difficult for ourselves.

You’re right Rizlar they’ve been very consistent. Consistently fortunate with penalty decisions and crucial late, late goals. Even on Saturday with Dion hitting the post and a stonewall last few minutes handball seen by everybody but the officials. You don’t win anything without a bit of luck but I’d say they’ve had more than their fair share.

Let’s just get tonight out of the way first, we need to see off the Shrews before we can even think about Saturday. Even if we do win tonight Derby must still be favourites to win both of their games so it’s going to be a tough ask whatever we do. I fear that we blew the autos on Saturday when Dion hit the post and the officials missed a stonewall pen at the death. Luck does play a part whatever anyone says and other than bad we haven’t had much this season. ☹️

No question both George and Eoin are now having more influence within the team, George in particular regularly now seen directing where players and passes should be. As said earlier Rico is definitely a calming influence but also the dictator of tempo and when he moves the ball quicker the team just works better. You don’t have to wear an armband to be captain and it’s pleasing to see the players feel that way too.

Even assuming Derby slip up at Cambridge there’s still a 5 goal deficit to make up so we need as many goals as possible on Tuesday, absolutely no sitting back until the final whistle. To be fair if we can’t put these away by at least 3 goals we don’t deserve an automatic place.

Goals win games though and sadly we don’t have them when it matters. Couldn’t have played any better today but again spurned gilt edged chances and when are we ever going to learn how to threaten from corners?

Should have won that only ourselves to blame chances missed yet again. You can see why Pompey don’t lose many though they do seem to have really had all the luck this season.

If we win tomorrow I see the game at Posh being a dead rubber with them saving players for the play offs because I expect them to slip up between now and then. We just have to make sure we don’t.

Neither would I but wouldn’t it be Taylor replacing Rico rather than moving Toal? Either way I’d be ok with that but if Toal is moved and Gethin’s fit wouldn’t he come back in?

Well Sky have destroyed PL football for all but the big boys and now they’ll do the same to the EFL. Sorry but they and their money are the scourge of football in this country and I certainly won’t be putting any money in their coffers. Bad move this I believe, what on earth was wrong with iFollow or Wanderers TV where the clubs had control?

I’m clearly missing something with Ashworth who for me doesn’t look a patch on Forrester down the right. Maybe at 21 he’s got chance to improve but if we go up I’d personally be looking for much better.

To be fair Greg, Derby have given us no more chances than we’ve given them so this time we need to make sure we don’t slip up again. Pompey aren’t anything special so we need have no fear against them so let’s hope the boys are pumped up and do the job this weekend?

If the cross is delivered well you’ll score goals but it seems something of a lost art these days as headed goals seem to be lesser rated than those from tippy tappy. We’ve already mentioned the Morais success rate but without the quality of the cross neither Wheats nor Beevers would have got anywhere near the number they did. Probably the best exponent of all was Becks whose speared in crosses were sublime and all Uniteds strikers needed to do was get a head on them, which they did regularly.

We just need Wycombe to hold Derby on Wednesday and if they do that the whole situation changes.

Shame it wasn’t a few more than two because it doesn’t look like that will be enough to affect them bearing in mind their usual end of season good fortune and escapes. Of course others, most notably Luton and Forest have to win their games and there’s no certainty of that either. Instead of just keep docking points they should go all out and relegate them.

Probably White knowing our luck but you never know they may want to put one over on Derby with a quick recovery?

What do we think would be best for us here Wycombe to win or Wycombe to lose it given their game on Wednesday v Derby? Certainly not extra time wearing them out.

You’d hope not on Santos and hopefully as he was able to finish the game it won’t be too bad. Likewise on Josh, he’s so important we can’t afford to lose players now with what’s at stake.
