  1. 1-2 would be nice
  2. Why do I keep thinking about Shergar? Bookies getting a few quid in early on a no hoper?
  3. The ONS stats don't lie. I recall you are in a specialist supply chain (heat pumps) which do buck the trends but their turnovers are reliant on political initiatives making them high risk (but high margin). I did some freelance work for a solar energy company 15 years ago who were booming but when the government subsidies and grants dried up by cutting the green crap they eventually went bust. PS... I'm not bone idle or downright shit, I am freelancing again and quite enjoying myself but current restrictions from the Exchequer particularly stamp duties are stifling investment.
  4. Just a quick heads up. If you're on Now TV ike me its not listed, but if you do a search on the sports tab its there
  5. And garages too small for today's cars
  6. https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/housing-supply-indicators-of-new-supply-england-july-to-september-2025/housing-supply-indicators-of-new-supply-england-july-to-september-2025#further-indicators-of-supply
  7. The 309,000 quoted earlier wasn't an annual figure, it was from July 24 to Jan 26. Registrations are slightly up but completions are continuing downwards. Building Control data from GOV UK:
  8. They're approaching from the wrong direction by concentrating on major developers and their political body, the HBF To build social and affoordable houses on thiis scale you need to involve Local Authorities and proper Main Contractors who are used to project delivery, not shareholder driven development companies who just stick a few "poor homes" at the back of their fancy developments to appease the planners.
  9. Last year saw towest number of new home completions since 2014 at 130,000. In contracting, 4,000 construction firms went bump last year, 17% of all insolvencies. Lack of confidence in Clients who are delaying new starts to factories etc. and contrary to the spin, education and defencce spending being choked by funding being witheld. The government changed their stance from investing and growth creation to "we'll do it when we can afford it"... that's austerity in my book
  10. Just like their budget for growth
  11. It's called a tangent...
  12. From Gov.UK Official February Stats, you use bricks and blocks to build new homes: 1.1 Headline findings Headline findings in this edition of the publication are that: deliveries of bricks decreased by 6.7% in December 2025 compared with December 2024 deliveries of blocks decreased by 17.3% in December 2025 compared with December 2024
  13. Off you go mate
  14. I took voluntary redundancy at Christmas, construction is in recession with little new work coming through. The company's turnover was down one third in the last published accounts and will be more depressed in the next, margins dropping too. Quite a few bubbles bursting and companies going under.
  15. Beginning to remember now... Scampton is a bit more refined than Manny Road, a bit posh to be honest
  16. I know the Wishing Well pub in Cherry, one of my bike racing muckers came from there. I lived in Saxilby close to Scampton and then Thorpe on the Hill... these days I'm amongst the cows and grass between Grantham and Stamford. Still get the Arrers coming over quite regularly.
  17. It appears so far the only ones who have been punished other than Epstein himself are British... either says something about our societal values or there's displacement activity going on in the US
  18. She has requested a pardon to protect her from further liability under the fifth amendment, as things stand she cannot be forced to testify but could be in contempt of court... or something like that
  19. I would prefer chanced his arm at two careers... a blagger like the rest of us 😀
  20. Never heard of them, looked them up, not for me. Just don't like piss takers milking our tolerance
  21. Someone in the Observer yesterday compared him with Schrodinger's Cat... in a box dead and alive at the same time. I always thought the paper was labour supporting?
  22. No compo... they have broken the law by invading a sovereign state. I'd also send Queen Ursula and Macron the bill for their upkeep calculated just like a student loan... just to prove they are being treated like our own citizens
  23. Typical Gooner
  24. I thought Starmer was a lawyer...
