  1. I recall that Canada are the lowest contributor to NATO so expect no input from them... don't know much about Ozz but I'd imagine they'll do what suits them. No alliance will ever succeed without the US
  2. Chernobyl is in Ukraine, previously Russia
  3. I've travelled quite a lot and wherever I end up I always find people have the same priorities in life no matter where they are paying their taxes... a job, a home, enough to put food on the table and hope that maybe their children will do better then them. It's usually the hotheads who stick their nuts over the top of the trenches who want to change things and get shot at
  4. Not peace... more like "glue" Remove Putin and it will be a real Pandora's Box with lots of fissile material laying around
  5. Wire brush and Dettol
  6. The really stark reality is the only way to economically produce electricity is by utilising nuclear technology, the "green" stuff is just add-ons and will never satisfy our expanding needs... we are much better and cleaner than in the post war 1950's and if we can get fusion producing more energy than it absorbs we really will be onto a winner. Pre-election I thought Reeves was probably a good 'un but now I see she really is a wannabe chancing her arm without any real worldly experience... time is very close for her to say "thank you and good night"... she had a go but wasn't ready
  7. But the political Russia is centred on Moscow... without the glue of a dictator you can forget about being "law abiding"... sometimes you need to keep these hardliners in power to keep the peace... it is a huge country with lots of factions, a breakdown in governance would really be disastrous
  8. He probably said "GIVE me your jets"... that really wound me up by the way
  9. Putin has seen off many Presidents and even more Prime Ministers... my biggest worry is the vacuum that a big player like Putin will leave when he eventually leaves the stage, either because of nature or "otherwise". You think the Middle East is unstable, think again about a lawless Russia
  10. I've said it before... Europe will play the five at the back and "we" will be the lone striker. Lets not go down that avenue
  11. Because we live on an island with definite borders created by geography... over there it is very transient... do a search of eastern European maps over the past 500 years
  12. Not according to his Faithbook profile 😁
  13. I stand corrected Donald Tramp
  14. It was a show for the voting public of Ukraine... the US will negotiate but not with Zalensky as President... Trump holds grudges: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump–Ukraine_scandal Putin wants Zalensky gone because he wants "puppet" governments on his borders. I suspect that was the jist of the T-P phone call
  15. We only managed to finally pay off the Marshall Plan in 2006... why shouldn't Ukraine pay the USA (& Canada) as we did?
  16. There's history there... right from Trump's impeachment... Mr Z refused to hand over documents about Biden Jnr
  17. If we stick to our present trajectory we will sit here complaining about the constantly rising gas and leccy bills and failing Health and Social care while sending at least 5% of our annual GDP wealth to fund an eastern european war. Oh Well
  18. I miss our village doctor... now retired, you could actually speak to him when walking in the street and he'll say "come in and I'll look at it for you" or something like that... he knew everyone, I was once chatting to him about gardening and he said "excuse me but there's Mrs so and so, she lost her husband 6 months ago, I need to go and chat with her and make sure she's getting out and doing okay"... he drove the local NHS management mad... I was once in his consulting room for over half an hour, bugger the ten minutes... he did it all the time, as his young replacement said... he was very old fashioned but his diagnosis was always spot on! He saw his work as a calling and had practiced here since leaving the army.
  19. Needs a box to stand on
  20. Putin had his State Visit in 2003 All bollocks at the end of the day
  21. Second State Visit Pretty predictable... loved the panto of pulling out the letter from the King Play to the vanity first then corner the bastard
  22. Might as well rename the UK as Outer Byzantinium 😉
