I might retire next Spring but as you say, I'd be daft to do it in winter, I might as well come into a cosy little office and use and abuse the youngsters. Most of my interests are outside summery stuff except for fishkeeping, been thinking of setting up a shrimp farm... just call me Forest

Think of the opportunity offered by registering your business as "Boris Trump"

Closer to home, someone we all know placed a £13 million order with a ferry company that had no ships and had cut and pasted its website

Must make a note not to go for a night out with Joe Crutchley

I tell everyone I'm going to die at 90 from gunshot wounds fired by an 18 year old lass' jealous boyfriend

I was walking through a dementia wing with an old fashioned architect, old girl came up to him "you've got a nice face, I'd like smash it in"... I was trying not to burst out laughing.... he didn't know what to say, must be quite common with demented old people... it is on here 😜 You'll know to keep an eye on your tools... wait till an old boy goes walkabout with your makita

I tried that one and a pair of scissors flashed past my head.... not recommended. As I said, I consider myself privileged to be in good physical and mental health, I do get off days but my optimism always seems to pull me through (plus a 4 pack of draught Guinness). I'm like a little Jack Russell... a right pain in the arse that keeps going on and on... until one day I'll just keel over! Off for a two mile walk over the field now in my lunchbreak

I am just quoting something called "experience"

I was in an old folks home last week... we are repairing the fire doors and I was checking in on the lads. "Where's the contracts manager?" someone asked... I was down in the common room with the old dears drinking tea and singing along in the karaoke 😁 I probably do need locking up...

Bollocks, I'm 70 next time and still go out to work, pay tax and fly aeroplanes. I have pensions but I need to keep occupied, I complete a Times 2 Jumbo crossword every morning over a coffee... I buy volumes of 60 puzzles. The brain is a muscle and needs to be used. The young uns at work beat me hands down on the latest software but I know how buildings fit together. I consider myself fortunate and privileged to be in good health.

I would trade with the bears... they prefer berries, veg and fruits... stay friendly

The non proliferation treaty was necessary and thankfully Ukraine honoured it... it does still mean that Russia cannot legitamely attack Ukraine with nukes. It has been argued that the Budapest Memorandum is not an international treaty as such but there is a case that Russia has breached it, but should we go to war over this? At the end of the day we are where we are and we need to find a final settlement rather than continuing on the current path... I agree with Trump's actions, at the end of the day he is the only one with the guts to meet and talk with Putin.

If i was in charge of a colony of elks living next to a bear pit I'd tread very carefully

Just a realist at the end of the day. diplomacy wasn't seriously attempted initially. There were lots of missed opportunities which, several years later have resulted in Ukraine losing territory

They are NATO members and therefore are entitled to protection from their fellow members. Following on from whether Switzerland and Czechia should be defended by their surrounding NATO neighbours, I would include the Republic of Ireland also, who aren't NATO
-
No Czechia and Switzerland are firmly in the western bloc, unfortunately for Ukraine they are direct neighbours to a more powerful and authoritarian regime governed by an ex-secret policeman and should behave accordingly.

At the NATO boundary

Talking of facts, didn't Labour produce the "dodgy dossier" leading to the cross party majority?

Wind-up artist probably 🙂

I've always been against all nations, east and west, sending aid, particularly weapons to the eastern Ukraine... to me this leads to continuation of the conflict and creates a situation where the "infection" can spread globally... we need to keep it localised in the Donbas and that way easier to resolve.
