Only just seen it is the Prague derby on Saturday when I’m over there. Could be as lively as the Harvester salad bar.

Get me a Dukla Prague Away Kit will you ?

I thought the championship would be too much for them and he'd be gone around January with them in the bottom half. But fair play, they've done better than I thought and Parky will get another season

They did buy some properly decent players. Few that would survive the Premiership but very, very solid Championship. Spent big on fees & big on salaries.

I expect they'll get funds for a handful more. However, in FFP terms their direct football income is limited by their 12,000 max. attendance. The new stand, probably a full season off, will add 5,000-6,000 to that but their spending will still be too high.

  3. Eric still leaves Watford after 3 wins in 15 games.

The 35-year-old Belgian was appointed on a two-and-half-year contract on 9 February following the resignation of predecessor Javi Gracia.

Watford will now begin a search for their 15th head coach, not counting interim bosses, since September 2019.

How many languages will be spoken at the world cup they will have to employ lots of interpreters that can lip read!

Hardly World Cup but when playing in tje Welsh National League about 25% of the time we'd be playing teams with significant bi-lingual players. It was a curious dynamic.

  6. No surprises about Scotg Parker though, tbh, I never got why he had the job in the first place.

It'd be good to see an ownership one day say "he was on a hiding to nothing but he did all he could & we're sticking with him".

*Dave Challinor: "I'm fuming with the performance we've all just watched. I'd love to say I didn't see it coming, but it's probably not a huge surprise. The players looked a bit flat (in training) yesterday, which can happen. But we didn't start the game anywhere near well enough, and the whole evening has ended up flat. We have to look as management whether we made enough changes. You're damned if you do, damned if you don't, but not everyone can go again and we'll have to look at that."

"It was sloppy from minute one and didn't get better for 96 minutes. If we perform anywhere near as badly on Saturday as we have tonight, we'll be relying on results elsewhere. If that's not motivation for the players to perform, then nothing will be. We now have to go and get the result we need at Barnsley."

"You need your experienced players, some of the young'uns got lost a bit and the experienced ones weren't at it, and that's frustrating on the night."

"Christy (Grogan) is a young player, Che (Gardner) played in a position that isn't his, and he's exposed a bit. Young players have been thrust into a level of football they're not quite ready for, and there's nothing wrong with that (from their side). That's where we're at, we hope Cogs will be available this weekend which will help things a little bit. But on young players being exposed, I take the blame for that, (but) we don't have much else we can do. That's not an excuse, that's the hand we've been dealt. We have to make the best of it we can and see where it takes us."

"We know what Barnsley have got and how they'll go about it. The manager will want to finish really well in his last game. They'll want to finish with a win. We just have to focus on ourselves, we have to turn up if we want to get what we've worked 45 games for."

"We can't be passing the buck and hoping someone else will pull you out of the mire. Louie (Barry) shouldn't have come on, but you can't be thinking 'Louie will score two and get us out of a hole'. If you have that (attitude), your career will only go one way. I didn't want to play Louie for anywhere near that time, but we needed a spark so it had to be done. He's not superhuman and he can't go from being out for six months to playing an hour every Saturday and Tuesday. We can't just be reliant on Louie. The other players will have aspirations of playing higher - well they'll need to produce it when it really matters."

"Benno will always look bright, because that's him as a player. Half an hour tonight potentially gives him an hour on Saturday, which is good. We have to be careful with him because of how he plays and presses and runs. But it's great to have him back."

"We've gone Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, and the evening was flat. Again, that's not an excuse, that's where we're at, and only we can get ourselves out of it."

"Nothing else apart from our result makes any difference. Let's not focus on anything else, get our own house in order and take care of our business. If we're going to go there and play for a draw, we would have just done that tonight. We have to play forwards at the weekend which we didn't tonight, and that's on us to rectify and go and perform (on Saturday)."

*Worst performance I can remember for ages.

Norwood, Diamond and Mothersille particularly poor, defence terrible first half as injuries finally caught up with us, and Bailey and Addai just about the only ones to come out with any credit.

We seem to have a terrible performance in us every once in a while, so I guess the positive is we have it out the way in a relatively meaningless game. We desperately need JDC back, and wouldn’t be averse to giving Grogan the whole game on Saturday.

*No credit to DC but equally tonight is mainly on the players. No one had a good game and the majority had stinkers, with some total stinkers.

We didn't get tactically out done. We got out worked then compounded it by looking after the ball terribly when we did get it.

*Challinor needs to get off his fat arse for once as well.

2-0 down at home to a relegated team when we need one point to secure the playoffs and he’s slumped in his seat like a clueless numpty. The players shouldn’t need motivation but if they did, looking over and seeing Challinor not looking arsed isn’t going to help.

Get out of your seat. Coach the team through the game. Urgency starts with him and yet again he’s done f*ck all to demonstrate it.

*Peak laziness tonight was Challinor screaming at the players from his seat.

*Worrying to hear that the players seemed flat in training before such an important match

Doesn’t bode particularly well for the play offs!

  8. Players at the World Cup are liable for a red card if they cover their mouths when speaking to opponents during confrontations. It follows accusations that unacceptable things may be being hidden.

The decision was taken during a special meeting of the Fifa Council in Vancouver.

There will be a half-time show in the final (a la the Superbowl). Chris Martin will coordinate this. It may well small like Gwynedd Paltrow's fanny.

I can fully believe it's bollox.

But it's either bollox OR he was warned many times before being ejected. It can't be both.

The Portsmouth game 23/24 was the ideal set up, half upper half lower and same for home support the other. Smaller followings shove them up in the upper and leave South lower for home fans.

  12. Watching Hibs v Hearts. O don't care who but I just want someone not Celtic or Rangers to win their league.

The energy is there but neither of these would escape the Championship.

It's a strange term that people like to use these days, like all the nonsense about double pivot, inverted wing backs, low block and gegenpress.

XG, False 9 and "in the channels".

None of its use makes in right.
