I suspect that’s been hurried through parliament on the QT at this very moment tbh.

have you had the 1k council tax rebate yet for the energy price increases you were getting?

yes, it was paid directly into my bank account yesterday, which was a nice little bonus, we're possibly getting another £1K towards it at the end of October apparently, but I'll not hold my breath on that one just yet

Cheers. Fucking no chance he’s getting a penny surely

Agreed. The Government should keep the money, and use it to reduce the high Council Tax bills we have here in the South East for a year or two 😏

How do you give a sanctioned man back a few billion who’s got ties to a sanctioned country in the middle of an illegal war. Not a chance he’s getting that back

I agree he's not getting it back, which is why he might not agree to a sale. There will be some work around though, no way will Chelsea FC be allowed to go to the wall over this

Strange one this game as whilst very unappealing on a lot of levels it also has the potential to be the day we put these scruffy cunts in their place. So for that reason it cannot be missed and I’m in.

Also has the potential for a fucking good 4:0 or 5:0 stuffing, sadly 😲

  5. who the fuckery is Marc Guehi?

edit: just googled, apparently Palace bought him from Chelsea for £18M last year.....I've still never heard of him

I got a new neighbour this season after having a free seat to my left for a couple of seasons.

Nice enough chap, drives up from Milton Keynes every game, stays until the end too.

Didn’t realise @Sweep was a season ticket holder.

@Trafknows me very well, I'm not sure he'd ever refer to me as a "nice enough chap"

I don’t listen to talkSPORT or him, just thought your comments were crass.

I don't listen to Talksport purely because of Alan Brazil

I’m only interested if we go up. Then it would be the 3 teams that it would impact the worst.

Id guess Burnley, Leeds and Everton. I think Watford and Norwich would probably take 2 promotion spots. I’m sure the others would anyhow. I’ve not been to Goodison so would be good to tick off

    This can't be true, surely.....

Off the top of my head, the ones that stand out are the Stoke Semi Final, the Bristol 6-0 defeat, when we lost to Fulham 4-0 about 7 or 8 years ago and losing to Derby 4-1 similar season.

The latter 3 we went down for beers at half time and never bothered going back up.

myself and @Danny Gleft that game after about 20 minutes, it was that bad

If its under 130k a year, no point in anyone on here applying anyway.

it depends if folk want a less stressful job, I'm sure some, especially those getting close to retirement would be happy to go down to those sort of levels for an easy life and the chance to work at the club they love

While I’m not disgusted by no salary you’d think for both parties it’s worth mentioning. Surely stops a lot of time wasters. Our place doesn’t specify salary as well. Most don’t. Must be a reason.

Whenever we advertise a job at our place, we never mention a salary

I read this recently and a comment near the end about power and influence had me thinking about why blokes like Abramovich want to own high profile clubs.

On the face of it, his comments suggest that making money is not a consideration. Is he just a football fan who wanted a plaything or is it status related?

For people with this amount of money, it's not about making more money I don't think, I've always presumed it's just a status thing.

The Premier League says "The Premier  League and our clubs wholeheartedly reject Russia's actions and will be showing support for the people of Ukraine at all matches this weekend.

but no mention of the people of Yemen being bombed by the states that own Newcastle and Man City ...

They're brown though, so they don't matter as much

Where are folk having a pint?

I stayed over in MK on Monday night - it's absolutely bleak.....

I'd guess that folk will pop out of the train station and then head straight up to Midsummer Boulevard and go to the 'Spoons as it's only 5 minutes walk. Just a little bit further up is an All-Bar-One and also a Brewdog, which are both OK.  Slug & Lettuce isn't too bad, and that's just around the corner from Brewdog. Other than that, a lot of restaurant/bar type places.

The ground is about 5 miles away so you'd need to get an Uber

    if I'm totally honest, it's a bit shit 🙂

Just randomly picked a topic from the last page.  With the affect of VAR since this discussion,  would two refs be preferable do you reckon?

get rid of refs and linesmen full stop - chips in the ball, sensors along all line, chips in boots of the players - all decisions fully automated and made in a split second, absolutely no human interaction required. Decisions would be instant and can't be reversed or reviewed

    International break.

There aren't any European internationals being played though........which seems odd, you'd think they would squeeze some in

I think they’d snap someone’s hand off for that deal…. Surely they can’t find someone stupid enough to offer that.

I agree, anybody who'd be happy to stump up north of £25M and not have a controlling share, would surely need their bumps feeling....
