Reminds me of a few years back, in the pub after a game (think it was Brentford) with @tomski and a cockney fella comes over chatting and saying stuff like, "You been here t'watching t'football? Did you come on t'train". We humoured him for a minute and asked who he supported. As soon as he said Man U we both just turned our backs on him and left him stood there on his own. The t'cunt.
Was that the same match when @tomskipaid a tramp £20 to get into a pub?

The whole FFP is a farce.
It's just bollocks - let clubs spend what they want to spend, if they ultimately go bust, then tough shit. If they "buy the league" then so what, that's been happening for years anyway

Very expensive apparently
Read that those that live near the border with Russia would (though not anymore) get on the train to go on the piss in St Petersburg and come back the same day as it was still cheaper than in Finland
It is expensive, Mrs Sweep went over with our friend 2 years ago - and they went on a day trip, by ferry, to Tallinn - apparently it was like hell on earth on the way back, with everybody absolutely smashed. I think she said it was about 2 hours crossing each way, with 3 or 4 hours in Tallin supping cheap booze. Absolute carnage. It's on my bucket list as something to do.

They share a large border and have previous with Russia so it might stem from that
I think they've only been independent of Russia for about 100 years - I have a friend who is Finnish, and she hates Russians with an absolute passion, and I mean properly hates them. You can see it in her eyes when she speaks about them.
About 36DD, but after a couple of kids, I'm not sure how kind gravity is to them when they're not held up by a bra

just subscribed with lamblamb, all up and running within a few minutes - nice and easy
after having a play last night - I can say, thus far, that this app is quite a bit better than my previous provider, it just seems quicker to load everything.

to think, mid-1980s coaches would turn up dropping folk off for a night out in Bolton, such was the guaranteed great night.
Time moves on sadly. The pub will be a thing of the past in around 25 years. Young folk just don't seem interested. There are a few come into our village club, to play snooker and pool, and none of them drink alcohol, and just don't seem interested in doing so

it's funny that Tories struggle with Islamophobia but are pretty militent when he comes to anti semitism
somebody the other day on here, I can't remember who, suggested that a "vote for Labour, is a vote of antisemitism" so presumably that works both ways, and a "vote for the Conservatives, is a vote for Islamophobia"

PR gives cranks a voice
Just had a look how PR would have affected the last GE, we'd have probably been in for a hung parliament, although the Lib Dems would have probably got in bed with the Conservatives. I'd assume if we did PR this time around (which obviously we won't) then it'd probably be with the LibDems again to be "king makers"

this mornings announcement of funding for travel was more tory bullshit
so, what will the money be used for
well, we don't know, itll be for the local people to decide
so, some examples
erm, well we don't know, but erm, junction improvements, resurfacing etc
On the news this morning they were interviewing people in Huddersfield - fucking hell, they must have dredged up the most gormless folk they could find. One bloke was hoping the money would pay for a direct rail link to London, another wanted a pot hole on his road fixing 😁

Probably not. The system is rigged against them. We need to get away from first past the post to proportional representation if we are ever to escape the tedious duopoly and get everyone's views correctly represented.
If this were to happen, I would expect Reform to be 20-25% of the seats.
It was a system you were happy enough with when the Conservative Party walloped everybody last time around
-
There's been a little bit of noise about Reform. I wonder if they'll actually win any seats at the GE.

King's Cross is one of the best areas in London for boozing imo
It is. I was there last Saturday night. Had a splendid meal at Dishoom, although we did have to queue for half an hour to get in

I still can't believe we're getting all bent out of shape, with regards to a bit of a ceasefire, that nobody in the actual conflict is going to pay any attention to whatsoever.
Its ridiculous

I know people take the piss out of GB News, and quite rightly, because it's absolutely fucking awful - but this sort of article really does make them look ridiculous, unless they're doing it on purpose now, and they've become some sort of parody channel.
