We always try to use our full ISA allowance (myself and Mrs CWP) - we generally have to fanny aorund transferring every couple of years in order to get the very best rates though. When the interest rates do eventually rise, and they will, then we should be in a pretty good situation.

Some folk here, and I include myself in that are looking at around a c10% pay cut come Christmas time.......lucky us. We're doing this so that we don't have to lay anybody off. It's the way of the world now it seems.

I agree with this to a point, but it's always good to have £5K~£10K that you can get your hands on easily and quickly in case you need it for something, and an ISA is as good a place as any. What you don't want is that sort of money sitting in your current account as it's too easy to spend on frivolous shit, unless you are very well disciplined....which sadly most folk aren't.

It's possible once or twice, I think it's being able to do it consistantly. Also, in this country we have several teams with masses of money pushing for the top 4 places. In Spain they have two big teams and then the rest fighting it out, so it's a little bit different I reckon

I'm not sure I agree with all that. I think we all knew at the time that we couldn't/wouldn't keep qualifying for Europe, as we simply don't have the financial muscle, and to qualify on a regular basis this is what you need. We do also have a very low fan base with regards to paying fans, we always will have I think. Are we a "Premier League club" - well that's something you get on merit, and for years we were, we're a long way from that now though, but there is no reason we can't be again. Will we ever push for a top 6/8 finish again though? - I'm not so sure
