Is it the park as well? It would help if they'd explain where meadowcroft is- can only assume its one of the big houses near what was the driving range? Some dwellings have been built on the old club house area, so maybe it's near there? Anyway, just been out with the hounds and witnessed a bright rainbow which seemed to emerge from close to your place. That will have put up neighbouring rents! 😀 Quote

Not in Crawley Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 I had a look at house prices when I was back, I was very jealous about the prices. For what we're paying in rent I could be living in a 5 bed in Bromley Cross that looks like something from Dallas (and just as grim to be fair) or a decent place in Smithills - but over £1,200 is few and far between - seems like its lots of 1/2bed smaller properties. Buying something sizable for a family is do-able without needing a million, which is what the normal family houses round here go for, unless you want drawbacks such as no garden or no parking etc Quote

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 4, 2023 Site Supporter Posted January 4, 2023 Now then, the place I was stood outside was opposite the school. I always believed that was prospect view. Was also shown to be the location of someone I wanted to visit on Google. Yet strangely, when you put a search of prospect view, bolton into Google maps it can't find anything! Quote

Moderators Carlos Posted January 5, 2023 Moderators Posted January 5, 2023 Prospect Ave is up near me. I can't remember a petrol station at Lower Fold, before my time? What's with the funny houses on the corner of Greenwoods Lane? Looks like a garage. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted January 5, 2023 Moderators Posted January 5, 2023 Odd shaped bungs r us, is greenwood Looked a couple of times but theyre definitely of their time Not sure if i remember it being a filling station but it was a car wash in my time int village So prob went about 20 years ago Fucking 20 years Quote
Site Supporter MickyD Posted January 5, 2023 Site Supporter Posted January 5, 2023 It was fuel, manual car wash (coin-op high-pressure lance with a couple of minutes of shampoo) and a garage/MOT station. Peter Hall, the scrap man was the MOT mechanic. They did car sales on the then disused forecourt then sold up and moved the sales business to Bury New Rd area. Gradwells was very similar; fuel, MOT, drive through car wash (brush type) The car wash became Nigel Liston’s first spray booth. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted January 5, 2023 Moderators Posted January 5, 2023 did they have fuel til the death? i only remember car sales and car wash think i used to use that car wash when i was in ainsworth Quote
