Johnnyrotten
I know it seems that everyone gets to play at Wembley these days, relative to pre-play off days, but not quite so many have won a cup there. And clubs as "big" as Blackburn and Ipswich have never even played at the new Wembley. That feeling we had on Sunday has never been enjoyed by loads of clubs fans (Newcastle haven't won a cup there since 1955!). And before the game some were saying the Exeter game is more important. Without a doubt we'll be recalling that cup win on a regular basis for the rest of our lives, it may never happen again for some of us. If we never get to Wembley again that will be our memory of the place, I'll take a 3-0 defeat on Friday and still say it was an outstanding week for BWFC. The Exeter game is far more important as it’s the next one and in the league.

I know what you mean but nobody would have remembered the next result after we beat Torquay in 89 (OK it was last game of season as it happens!). Any defeat puts a dampener on things, losing at Wembley would have felt a lot worse than a game we'll have put behind us by the time we play Cambridge in front of 20k plus on Monday. And a big reason there'll be 20 odd thousand on is the feelgood factor created at Wembley.

Yep, Wembley was a success in hopefully tying in some kids as lifelong Wanderers, as a family day out, as a piss up for the lads & a millionish pound boost to the club but in footballing terms, the Exeter game means more than any mickey mouse game. Popular Post Ani
There is no need to compare the two Sunday was a party to celebrate the Phoenix like rise from the ashes of the club. A day to celebrate the fact the club now has an identity we can all be proud of. It was wonderful and in the long term will have more impact than any single league game. Friday is one game in a season, if we lose then win the next 5 it will be forgotten. But if we win it really boosts our chances of making play offs so it is important. It will be disappointing if we lose but it is not season defining. The two games are totally different and trying to argue one is more important than the other is illogical. That made more sense in my head than it did when written out.

For me, it's not a fair comparison, however you try to look at it.

Beyond words how much that meant on Sunday. Only just got home after spending a couple of days down South, and him and his sister took it in turns to read every single word of the matchday programme out loud in the car on our way to different places. Didn't even ask them to, and it got a bit tedious to be honest, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Thats what its all about mate. My youngest said he was a Bolton fan on Sunday night. A lot on here will know H and know he usually does what the fuck he wants and will not be forced in to anything or supporting anything he doesnt want to. Life is much easier to let him make his own mind up and Ive never gone heavy on him, and trusted the process. Seems my faith has worked. Hes bang up for Monday Ive always said to him, support who you want son, as long as Its not United, as long as your happy. However you will never, ever get days out and special times with any other club in the land than you will with me watching Bolton. Me and my lad nearly missed the first goal as he was dying for a piss within minutes of kick-off. 😬We got to the top of the steps to go into the concourse, and I turned around and saw we had a corner. "Just hold it in for 1 minute, we've got a corner......." BOOM!! I can just about make us out in that video hugging each other and jumping around like lunatics, before being joined by a few other blokes who must have been finishing their pints 😁😍 I managed to finish my half-time pint in time for the second half (fair play to Wembley on the serving speeds) but then thought I’d nip for a pee whilst I was already on the concourse. And then heard the cheers above me…

Just to clarify - they only read the Bolton pages out loud. 🥰
BeeversLeftPeg
I don't think anything will top the feeling the moment Dion bagged the 2nd. Tears in the eyes, the noise was incredible. Genuinely not stopped watching all the content since Sunday night. I've thrown a thread together on Twitter of all the best bits, especially the stuff filmed from the Plymouth end: Glorious. It was carnage round us when that hit the net, and I've still got the bruises on my knees to prove it, I ended up over the seats on the row in infront. 😁
