Traf Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 I feel there's more to him than we're seeing right now. Yes or no would depend on how much he'd want. Quote
radcliffe white Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Yes but wouldn’t offer anything daft like a 3 year deal Quote
BeeversLeftPeg Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Yes an extra 12 months. Especially if we are still in L1 next season. Would also argue his best position may actually be behind the front 2. Quote
1969 Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 On current form no if he improves between now and end of season then 12 months Quote
LeggyMountbatten Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 No. He can play but he's a luxury who will look great when we are 3-0 up on a sunny day but go completly missing when we are up against some of the L1 cloggers we have to face. I think we can do better. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Yes - 12 months but only if we are in L1. Horses for courses, I wouldn't play him against cloggers but offers something different to most of our other midfielders Quote
Lostock Whites Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 (edited) He's been really really poor for me since he came back from his injury, which was a while back now and is a concern. Before his injury I thought he was our most technical midfielder and key for the way we play against stubborn league 1 teams. It just hasn't worked, it's like he tries to be a player that he isn't. It's a shame. Saying that I would keep for now like others said maybe for a year. If not I am sure there's better players available. Edited March 8, 2023 by Lostock Whites Quote
Cheese Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 (edited) People were writing Dempsey off a few months back, and he's probably been our most consistent performer since then. It's imbecilic to judge a player on a handful of appearances. Leave it to Evatt and the people who work with them every day. Edited March 8, 2023 by Cheese Quote
DazBob Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 I'd like to think we can bring in better in the summer. He's not a bad player, he's just a bit too lightweight IMO. Quote

Zico Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Will so as a bench warmer to chuck on when we're going all out attack Quote

His weaknesses were already self evident, as were his strengths. Quote

Surely one "really" could suffice given his goal against Port Vale 😄 I'm in the "No" camp (surely we can sign better for next season?) but that goal was up there with some of our best of the season, probably underrated because fans only wanted to talk about how bad we'd played. Not many better placed, well struck goals from open play by us this season. Quote

bolton va va Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Similar to Sadlier, a decent player if he's given time on the ball, but lightweight. No, if we go up....if we stay in Div 1, i'm happy for IE to make the decision, either way. Quote
Ani Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 He is not good enough to be a starter. He does not change games when he comes on a sub. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 Reckon Sadlier is more effective to be honest. But, as you say, Evatt will no doubt do what he feels is right for the club. Quote
