Utterly superb pens so far. That’s how you do it. Put your foot through it. No fannying around

First team in History

To go from Top Flight to NL

and Back Again

The start of journey back again will be almost confirmed by Christmas. Don't see Luton getting many points at all

Granted I've only watched the three playoff games, but in all three Luton started off like a house on fire and then knackered themselves out. Not going to win any games in the Premier League like that, but good luck to them. It's a brilliant story

As the season drags on they will get some dickings when they have to go to places like Liverpool and city . But if they bank the money and drop down then get on that merry go round of being to good for the champ and up and down they  can eventually stick in the prem with a long term plan

For the player who missed, how do you even forget about that, be thinking about till the first kick of next season, what an awful way to lose, I really think Luton will need to improve their team massively, though they looked great 1st half.

I wonder how often that's been said as they climb through the leagues?

True, but it's nature of the play offs innit. Well before many of them were born if you finished 4th 5th or 6th you were on the beach, the play offs gave teams who didn't necessarily deserve to go up the chance to progress over a team who did.

Great for the league, more teams giving their all for longer, and a ratings bonanza for the play off campaign.

I'm a fan of play offs don't get me wrong, but it's a totally false representation of a team's performance over a season.

By the way, I've never been to Luton but we're going to see so many photographs of the entrance to that away end in the coming weeks that it's going to feel like I have.

I'm not saying they'll stay up next season but they've obviously made shrewd signings with next to no money so I expect them to find some gems with the lottery money they've just won with their recruitment network. Kenilworth road will likely cork out a few upsets too especially if teams turn up to that little ground expecting an easy win. Seeing both them two teams playing for a place in the top flight having spent not much money should only inspire FV & Evo even more.

Pleased for Luton. Used to go regularly as a corporate guest when they were last in the top tier. The stadium looks shit but watching from one of the corporate boxes (SKF) was brilliant. They’ve done it from the bottom and are an inspiration for all in the EFL. This time they did it without their plastic pitch. Great achievement.

I dine on 4 to prem and back down with southern colleagues. This is a kick in the nuts. I never want to match this.

Bloke walks into pub in a Coventry shirt, someone on next table asks what do you think today then? Oh I'm a villa fan he goes, wife's Coventry I just like the shirt.

Ok m8.

Oddly enough I saw a bloke at the Lancs game tonight in a Luton shirt. Name on the back and everything. Imagine missing an occasion like that.

Strange one. So is he from Nottinghamshire or is he a Lancastrian, Or a random north Londoner lost in the north west?  - Takes all sorts doesn’t it? But if you’re a proper Luton fan you’d have been at Wembley tonight, not at Old Trafford wearing a Luton shirt???

I bet over the coming few days, Luton get less publicity than the fairytale that is Wrexham have had this season.

Wrexham probably had a bigger budget too

Deffo. Was saying that yesterday, whoever won that game yesterday it is a better footballing story than Wrexham spending daft money in non league.
