Barnsley (H) - Play-Off 1st Leg

Bad news on the grapevine...

Barnsley's recent poor results coincided with the injury to Mads Andersen that happened when they got stuffed by Ipswich but the word is the big £900k Danish CB will be back for the playoffs which isn't ideal as he's a threat at both ends of the park and has been central to their success this season.

He played in the nil-nil draw league match and when they beat us in the FA Cup (both at the Unibol) but was sent off in the 12th minute of the game at Oakwell which we then went on to win 3 nil against 10 men.

Hopefully Dion can get the big lump sent off early doors again :)

20k including away fans?

Not wanting to be a miserable sod it’s still nothing major imo considering we averaged 17669 this season

time left yes but rafts of availability where these supposed season ticket holders sit

Most people going will be season ticket holders.

plenty of folk will be missing. Mrs E and I are away so won’t be there.

Surely it cant include away fans - they announced 18k yesterday afternoon

The current map suggests many are still available

Who do we think benefits more from the reduced allocation, us or Barnsley?

You'd like to think us but we have a history of not turning up for big home crowds and the atmosphere is always wank.

Of course the real answer to that as @Farrellipoints out is wait and see who goes through!

But no fun in that! In my opinion, as things stand, they will benefit more. Demand for their away tickets suggests that 2k was about right for them. Home tickets for us are selling steadily, perhaps another couple of thousand.

Currently everything is pointing towards a reciprocal 2k away allocation for us which will be nowhere near enough. They’ll be pleased that they have restricted us and it will be a shame that only 2k of us will be there…

To see us get to Wembley - had to finish on a positive 😊
