RWB is Randell's best position apparently. According to my Hull-supporting Season Ticket holder friends, he was very good for them when he played there.

Fair enough, I'll go with that if it's their informed view, maybe he'll be more comfortable defensively on that side

I don't trust them to be honest. They're all a bit backward. I only know them through work.

He only played 20 times for Hull and he impressed that much he was not included in the squad pick this season.  His performances here are clearly not of the required standard.

Gonna be interesting to see if Evatt alters the formation next season.

5 at the back seems to get exposed a lot in this league now, his role model pep doesn't play with wing backs they double down the wing with wingers and inverted full backs.

Now I know I'm comparing us to City here, but my point is the best possession side in the world doesn't play with wing backs, in fact barely any of the top teams do.

Evatts never going to change his style and I don't want him to, but if we want to move up a level and progress, a change in the shape might be needed

Maybe, but I think we had the joint best defensive record in the league so I don't see him moving away from that foundation

I think it's more likely he looks for a top quality No. 10 who can help us play through teams when they sit in against us

That's been one of our biggest problems

Not sure how you come to that conclusion when our defensive record was so good.

Yes I agree. I’m hoping The Alfie May murmurings are more than just rumour.

Where are these murmurings? Great player and would be a signing of real intent, can’t see it happening but live in hope.

He needs quite a bit of work, but there's definitely a player in there.

Not for me , never a goal scorer in the memory of man .Decision making in the box woeful & as for the shuffle step-overs , no thanks .

I think we can do better.

That’s my thinking too (but give them pre season you never know) also JDB isn’t prolific so out of 4 only 1 will really get the goals

Strikers can only put away the chances created. We create nowhere near enough. As I’ve said before we’re so process driven, there’s always another pass. Then it just breaks down. The Alfie May’s at this level are hard to come by. Someone who is willing to beat a man, get a shot off and sometimes stick 2 fingers up to the process. Dapo did it initially which is why he got a decent goals return. But I would hope if AM is available we’re in the running

Correct. Dion is a waste of time coming deep and the ball bouncing off his shins.

Needs to be off the shoulder and away. We just dont turn the ball over quick enough in midfield.

Agreed that Charles is more of a "poacher" than JDB, but last season (2021-22) they were both 1 in 3 strikers, that's where I'd see JDB's level with a regular run in the team.

He only started 8 games this season, so maintained his 1 in 3 arguably.  If cups included its more like 1 in 2 this season, he finished 2nd top scorer 😃

If Dion can score 20 goals in a possession team which isn’t really playing to his “run in behind” strengths, imagine how many he could get playing for a fast build up, counter attacking side…

Having said that, he could’ve had 30 goals for us, some of the chances he’s missed this season were sitters

Wonder what his value is...

Victor Adeboyejo had the fourth best shots to goals ratio in our league last season of all players scoring 10 or more.

i dont know how the fuck this is measured, but his pressing stats are also very high
