I imagine the target audience for Wanderers TV isn't necessarily grumpy old men :)

True. But Thogden (and his ilk) is the audience for a hell of the lot of the yoof. Halfway house might be to give younger fans access to make stuff - so sharing their experience.

Or summat. Basically, I've got no idea what I'm on about (as per the last fuck knows how long on this fucking place 😃).

£50 for a year subscription in the UK, but no live games

Match pass costs £10 per game and it suggests you don't need the subscription to access.

£140 for annual subscription and all games, but only available for International customers.

So not much change from iFollow assuming can do match batch for £10 and don't need a sub.

3 o'clock blackout still in place domestically and info on the streaming situation from next season is

Domestic Streaming

From the 2024/25 season onward, this agreement makes more matches available to stream and will effectively replace the current Sky Sports EFL red button coverage and the EFL’s domestic streaming option provided via iFollow and club streaming services. Domestic streaming audio services will remain alongside existing audio-visual arrangements for international audiences via iFollow and club streaming services.

Hopefully all games will still be on the dodgy box.

Never sure how that really works for streaming games behind a pay wall. If it is someone logging in and then broadcasting it then probably,  but if it is something more complicated hijacking the stream then it will probably depend on the security this new platform has

I’m not remotely arsed about home games appearing on my telly; I’ll be in the stadium. Away games, however, will possibly be being watched. Thing is, it’s fine for Bolton to fuck iFollow off in favour of their own streaming service but can they inflict their choice on the home teams we play?

Top and bottom is, if I only want the away games I’m not attending in person, is the annual subscription worthwhile or am I still going to be paying £10 to iFollow?

The subscription is for Behind the scenes footage, and Interviews. You don't need to have a subscription to buy individual £10 match passes. The "season ticket" for match passes is only intended for people who watch from abroad. I think.

anyway, how dioes dodgy actually work

i noticed last season, only away games, but they rarely had bwfc comms

is that because somewhere there needs to be a bwfc subscriber feeding the leeches that provide the service?

and do all the providers get their material from the same place?

I keep reading the title as "Wanderersways TV".

Now that could be interesting.

  • Behind the scenes at the bickering training ground. Exclusive rants and never-before-seen Brexit graphs.
  • Reporter tracks down Youri, NB et al for a monthly "where are they now" piece. The Rudy episode wins the Pulitzer prize.
  • Diver has a monthly weekly daily wine slot.
  • A Thogden type vlog series by LeighWhite on the bus routes and knocking shops of the NW. Bit like Michael Portillo and his trains. "Today I am journeying from Bamber Bridge to Garstang, where I once lost my upper set in a deep fat fryer after being punched by the owner when he found out his daughter gave me a noshing behind the chippy's bins. The smell of haddock will take me back; as will going in the chippy"
  • "Gonzo corner" weekly video review (post watershed). Bit like Barry Norman; "and why not?" he asks after showing another unmentionable act.
  • "Notes from Down Under" (that's Bolty, not Whitt; viewing figures decline after the third Lambtetta GP200 gear box review in as many episodes and the umpteenth retelling of his Con Boutsianis story).
  • "Book news" with Smiley.

It's got immense potential 😃

so as far as I'm aware/I think

there's someone somewhere with loads of computers running the streams, which the "providers" then subscribe to in order to serve their subscribers

so yeah, you get the comms based on whether you are watching the home or away teams feed

this is based on this story about a guy at the top of the chain who got busted

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12143389/Pictured-Gang-ringleader-masterminded-7million-Premier-League-streaming-racket.html

who had this set up in his flat with 30 boxes pumping out live sports

71579243-12143389-Bodycam_footage_also_s

I would imagine that there's a fair few of these kind of setups at the top, who then sell on to people who in turn sell subscriptions to the likes of us

my cousiun runs a service in Leigh but I'm pretty sure he's not doing anything like what's going on in that pic above

You missed this weeks cinema with Cheese and a look back at Wanderers in the 50’s by Casino giving his rundown to the 58 FA Cup and how he got his tickets without a loyalty scheme

So no Derek Clark commentating ? I quite liked him .

Thinly vieled hi-jack.

Ive just sorted out getting all my roadrunner/club videos  on vhs,  and full matches recorded off itv & free tv put on to dvd.  1989 onwards for roadrunner & games like Lincoln away in the cup , Forest at home 4-3 etc. There are a few few I cant find ...have the boxes with tapes missing. probably still inside an old machine I whizzed years ago .

The main one being Gudni Boltonsson VHS , if any one has one to sell or any vhs match tapes that I dont have. Im buying. Im also getting all my recorded kick-off , endsleigh league extra highlights type stuff put on a stick but its gonna take serious editing .

Also standalone , vhs ...Lancashire hotpots (the football video not the band) and the old hooli vhs that were never released on dvd... trouble on the terraces etc . (well it featured Bolton an at the time I just bought everything) .

Anyway let me know , ill then be putting the originals on ebay unless someone here wants them.
