  • Results and more specifically spineless shithouse performances like Saturday just gone can define a whole season. We get beat at Burton and then home to Derby the good will wont last long.

  • Cold light of day. 5 games in - 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss. The excitable types had the scalpel hovering over their wrists in the pre season FFS. We said assess it after 10 games. Calm the fuck down.

  • the idea of putting folk under that much pressure at this stage of the season is bonkers

Just have a look at Plymouths home record last season. They were like a machine.

Also their league results since Wembley. Brilliant reaction to massive disappointment.

They are the traits you need if you’re going to be top 2 all season.

They will be playing under intense pressure this season as the expectation is so high.

If you can’t stand the heat……

I agree, but I doubt you will see the top 3 sides get 96 plus points again for a while

we will be ok at Burton let’s see after v Derby & Peterborough if we’ve learnt owt

I honestly can’t get my head around someone thinking the next two games are “must win” and “must not lose”. We’re joint top of the league and it’s August.

I think Evatt and his team have made it clear that promotion is the aim, and that inevitably adds pressure to the players from the off.

They will have to handle it, and he's ratcheted the rhetoric up a bit with his comments.

If we don't get at least 4 points out of the next 2 games we won't be joint top of the league and it will be September.... Slippery slope of 3 points (or less) from 3 games (2 being at home).

Thrash Burton Saturday all is forgiven until we play Wigan again.

Once that rot sets in its hard to turn it around, especially if teams get wind we arw weak as piss, vulnerable but still trying play fancy football.

Need to bounce back pronto.

Exactly!

And I'm sure we will..... COYWM.

Burton is now a 'must win', if we had (b)eaten the pies a draw at Burton would have been acceptable.

If (when) we beat Burton, Derby will be a 'must not lose'; ideally we beat them but a draw would be acceptable.

If we lose at Burton, the pressure will really be on and Derby becomes a 'must win at all costs'.

Derby aren't a great team, short of depth and lost three key players to injury

The bloke who scored their goals last season has gone

Aye Derby fan at work was telling me they're starting to turn on their manager. Darren Moore was watching on from the stands v Fleetwood too.

And Burton are bottom on one point

It's not must win

But as promotion favourites surely we must win

If we finish above Derby we will go up.

They are weaker than last season when they didn't make the play offs

Theyll have Darren Moore in charge with hats full of cash in Jan.

Think they still have EFL rules about what they can spend

2nd time he's been watching them I think, sure he was there at the Oxford game too?

Ah, well it could easily have just been the Oxford game he was at then. Work lad made it sound like Fleetwood, but he doesn't actually go that often 👀

We must win at Burton because if after Saturday we allow an injury ravaged bottom of the league Burton team to beat us it will totally destroy any confidence the players have after that Wigan mess. A good win on the other hand will restore confidence before the Derby game and that’s what I’m expecting.

Back to winning ways

1-3 we'll shit em

Comfortable win and consign that disgraceful Wigan performance to history and continue from the 1st 3 games.

Flaming hell - first away for me, trains booked now having to drive (to burton again)

crap place to get to.

please give me 3 points for a change - not seen a win in 3 visits !

First taste of the seated bit for me this time, I did ask for terrace but sent me seated by mistake.

Oh well, I usually come away from the terrace at Burton pissed off at hearing songs about Dempsey twatting people, Burton's keeper being a paedophile and any number of our lads having big cocks. So I'll go and sit with the Coach 1 firm.

Two of the Top Boys are on Coach 1, not sure if they're in the seats though! They're very unpredictable....
