”The debate is over”

Having to see shit like that makes my piss boil.

I’m fucking fuming with our players today.

We cannot keep pointing at history and FA Cups we won on black and white telly. We need to fucking beat these cunts and beat them by 5 goals at their place.

My lad is shellshocked.

She’ll shocked?

This is the most embarrassing post I’ve read for along time. We lot 4-0 to steam that’s important to residents of Horwich or howfen.

The rags being beat and us finishing 2nd on the day I’d of took.

I’ve seen Bolton far more embarrassing than today (I know)

7 points above your neighbours. My rivals getting bummed (who by the way we’re the only way ones giving me stick)

Ive not had a response since after Spurs

A complete shambles.

no back bone, no leadership, no passion, no quality, no hunger or no desire.

dempsey for me and that’s about it.

toal, the Viking, Charles and Thomason back in next week.

midfield was far too weak. Morley and Sheehan were none existent.

nlundulu is just not at the races.

2 really poor goal keeping errors.

we seem to have a habit of not turning up for derby games and in fairness, evatt seemed to relay those sentiments.

positive is, 3 wins from 4 and joint top. (Albeit 3 at home)Would have taken that when the fixtures came out.  Now need to replicate that again with the next 4.

Yep. It’s one match. Embarrassing but nonetheless just one match. We’ll move on and just add it to the memory bank of bad days of being a football fan of BWFC. The bad days make the good days even better. 👍

I can handle losing, but it’s watching a Bolton team go down without a fight that i struggle with

Hearing the away end go nuts from a late winner is gut-wrenching but at least it’s the noise of delirium - the noise from the away end today was more of a pisstake which is far worse to listen to.

I’ve just seen Santos’ interview. It’s a shambles, full of cliches and zero anger in his voice. Doesn’t look particularly arsed that he’s just been embarrassed in our biggest game of the season. Unless he’s got a completely different persona in the dressing room then it’s a good example of what I mentioned earlier. Great player, not a captain.

Quite glad I was in the air coming home from hols, when I saw the result as soon as we touched down I was genuinely taken a back.

can’t comment on performance cos not seen it, but it’s hugely frustrating it keeps happening, thought we’d be well up for it given the last 3 results.

Just a couple of points , Wyke & Humphries are way ahead of our front two.

Lang or whatever he’s called is a proper no. ten.

Better players than ours.

Amen.

And of course as esablished Wigan players will be on bigger wages than any of  ours.If Evatt had their budget he'd hopefully have better players

I love you mate, you know I do.

But Christ how you can bring Manchester United in to this is beyond me.

Out-thought, out-fought, out-played and out-classed today by a Wigan team who were bigger, quicker, stronger and more switched on than we were.

That said, if they play that every week, they'll not be far off top, regardless of the points deduction. Wyke & Humphries will run amok amongst League 1 defences, they're Championship players and the gulf is immense.

Our lads would do well to re-watch the game several times, but not to focus on what we did wrong but to study how Wigan got it so right.

We play some beautiful football generally we even put some nice moves together today, but fuck me, we're soft. We've had a soft underbelly for ages now and it needs addressing sharpish.

As for Dan upfront, he's not the answer. We missed Charles massively today and if we were ever in the market for another striker, it should be another Charles-type.

However, we'll go to Burton and win, we'll have 12 from 15 and still be top of the league.

I left after the first half but their three goals were all gifts and apart from us playing shit and handing them all the goals they are not better than us. Too many had atrocious games today and I suppose the occasion affected us and they were up for it.

a win next week at Burton and the pain will have gone

Upfront, no threat & the ball didn't stick & it showed how good & important to us that Charles is. The ball kept bouncing off Dan, he's not a striker maybe he's a midfielder but either way, i think he'll be on the bench for a bit.

Midfield.....there's not many games  & this wasn't one of them ,that we should start both Sheehan & Morley.....they're too similar & we can be overrun.

Defence.....the worst game i've seen Jones play for us, both with the ball & defensively while Iredale came a poor second to the blond haired bloke.who was a real handful.

Keeper.....showed how good Trafford was, we'd still have lost with Traf but the defence wouldn't have been as shambolic.

Clutching at straws.....Dempsey kept going ,Maghoma & especially Mendes Gomes put up a fight 2nd half.

Having forced myself to watch the EFL highlights show to remind me of the train wreck/reality check I witnessed earlier, my conclusions are:

1. A wise man once said you have to earn the right to play and Evatt picked the wrong midfield for what was always going to be a battle for the  midfield dominance we need to play the pretty stuff. Concerned that he didn't see it coming.

2. It was obvious after the first few minutes that the players were shellshocked by Wigan's superior physicality and the more they panicked, the worse they played, losing battles all over the pitch, second balls, every department making mistakes they don't usually make. Good to have confident players but I'm worried that an attitude problem might have crept in - we have to thank WIgan for removing any grounds for cockiness.

3. We've dropped 3 points so it's not the end of the world even though it feels like it.

4. There's not a lot to worry about in this league this year but we can't afford to play that badly again. Ever.

5. The transfer window is still open and whilst we might stagger over the line with what we've got, we still need a quality midfield beast of at least Championship standard - after all, if we do manage to get promoted we'll need to buy players then so why not do it now?

Santos is a decent player, not great, and certainly not a captain. There was  no leadership from him today. Resorted to standing with the ball at his feet then back to the keeper, who had enough on his plate anyway. Very poor, as were the rest.

And if they think they'll have it easier next match they'll be disappointed. Look forward to the same interview next week.
