      I've NEVER seen that photo before! It is clearly an Oxford inter-College (Cuppers) match and I think it must be 1969, so it's on the track at Iffley Road where Bannister first ran a sub-4 minute

      400/800 doubles used to regular options.  In the 1948 London Olympics Arthur Wint (Jam/RAF) won the 400 and was second in the 800 to Mal Whitfield (USA), the latter having been third in the 400.

    For any KH fans in need of a reality check the forthcoming Commonwealth Games can include 10 of the top 18 in the world so far this year, whereas the European Championships can include only 6 of the top 18.

    The Euros has numbers 1 (Werro), 2 (KH), 3 (GHB) and 5(Bol) plus 10 and 16.

    Comms potentially has 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 11,12, 14 and 15.

    Number 4 is Sanu Jallow of The Gambia. She won the American Collegiate 800m in 1:56.85 and then came back 70 minutes later to anchor University of Arkansas to victory in the 4x400m Relay with a 49.02 split.
