I thought Matheson looked ok. Didn't have much to do but he looks quick , definately more of an attacking full back. Not sure if he'd be a liability defensively but there is deffo a player there.

He's definitely better than nothing if a back up for Cogley

Dan could have played until midnight and he'd not have scored

Don't like to be critical after an easy win, but he really isn't upto it.

I know what you mean White but I’m sure the reason IE signed him over 3 years is because he knows Dan needs development and time to bring out the skills it’s pretty clear he does have. I see this year as just a learning process for him with more expected in years two and three so I wouldn’t be as hard as some on him yet. Similarly I think Jerome is here to mentor him and I believe he is doing that. Clearly it’s not showing yet but if we give the guy a chance and he can start to add a few goals and gain confidence Dan may be a completely different player.

Very comfortable, think I'm right in saying if we beat United's kids next time out we are already through?

Yep.

Watching those highlights I'm not sure we'll have a game, where players have so much time outside the box, again this season.

Could've passed it round the Derby box endlessly at the weekend. All 10 of em were camped in the area.

Bit different with 10 men.

And Derby did have a brief go at the end.

Seemed to me that this was Derby's plan.
Pack the box so that play is compressed into a narrow rectangle outside their area.
Easier to close gaps in a small space with 10 men than it is in open play and they use less energy, thus saving something for a final 10 minute push for an equaliser.
Had they come out sooner, we'd have picked them off and got in behind. It was actually good game management from Derby ie keep it 2-1 until the final counter-push.

thomasson played a lovely 50 yarder to williams almost as soon as he got on

if only his right foot was even 4/10 and he could control the rashness, if be in the lego fanclub

Eagerness of youth.

He'll be reet as he plays more.

Dan? He's not a fresh-faced youngster though at 24. He's between a third to halfway through a footballer's career.

Nlundulu might be worse than Clayton Donaldson

That’s a bold statement.

For years Jemson was the go to for this statement and until Donaldson walked through the door that was the case ha.

Still think Nlundulu has a player in him. Confidence/run of games will bring it out.

Sounds like a good lad.

Decent interview that sounds like he said what he wanted to say rather than what he thought he should say with all media training he probably has had since breaking through.

About 190 league goals worse currently.

Although Dan does have bragging rights over his current teammates for Prem appearances, incredibly got 12 to his name, presume only Jerome can better that.

Whenever a player looks like he's struggling, confidence is always brought up.  But he does look confident in the games I've seen him, its not like he's getting rid of the ball as soon as it comes to him, or not showing for passes.  To me he looks a bit over confident in that he thinks he can beat a man or 2 before releasing the ball, and for eg v Derby in injury time if he'd realised his limitations a bit more he may have looked up and found a white shirt instead of being dispossessed to give Derby a breakaway.   I could be wrong, just my take, it looks to be about ability not confidence.

Dan won't get any better without first team experience.
He's not good enough to play in our first team.

Chicken/egg, catch 22, call it what you will.
A League 2 loan is the option, I think.

He'll be reet. We've not bought him in the hope that he's got some unseen talent. Needs a goal.
